It's usually low rep low post trolls trying to make a splash with senior members to get noticed.

Dad trolling / toughtalk trolling wouldn't be so common (or useful to get the attention of millennials) if there weren't so many absent fathers.

I see those guys as wash-up from right leaning forums where senior members talk like that all the time, like ARFcom GD.

The click-bait thread title troll.

Deserves a warning in my opinion.

...The "plz respond" troll asks you to endlessly qualify and explain while this other kind of troll makes up for a lack of effort by asking you dumb questions over and over without applying anything.

They're the 99 percenters. They want you to do 99% of the thinking for them and they're unwilling to do 1% of the work to make it happen.

What's especially infuriating is when the same posters ask vague, open ended questions or constantly make junk threads, but you know about the topic so you decide to write a long detailed response to help the guy out anyway and he still doesn't rep you.

Or he responds with a quote and a one line response and then you never, ever hear an update on whether or not they applied anything...

Good points by Samsamsam and Hannibal.

Some guys post a short question or problem without any context or detail, expecting to find a "magic pill" solution in the responses, as if there is some general answer that can be applied to all situations no matter the specific, individual factors. It further demonstrates perhaps a mindset of laziness or entitlement.

The following are what I see as examples of similar trolling or "what's the magic pill?", "sheer lazy" and, as a bonus, the "here's my unfounded theory" type posts:

Still, even then, they usually vanish. What's up with that? I don't really have a problem meeting girls offline, but online it's a totally different story. I'm 33, by the way.

Now, some key principles for informal guideline modification:

1. You get out what you put in [ref 1]

2. Give first, then you shall receive.

3. Entitlement represents one of the worst cognitive features of lazy, deluded, fat-justifying feminists [ref 2, 5]. Conversely, NeoMasculinity recognises hard work as one of the key pillars in the foundation of life fulfillment [ref 3].

4. Mentoring can provide satisfaction, especially if the student is able to show that he appreciates the advice, acts on it, and develops through it. In this sense, the value you give to others may not be knowledge itself but rather a feeling of satisfaction on behalf of the mentor or the sense of earned brotherhood. However, spending time and energy on those showing stubborn, unappreciative or whimsical indicators can be frustrating and demotivating.

5. Therefore, as a Rookie either on the site and/or in the game, respect can be still be earned if you demonstrate the below attributes:

- Putting in the work; actively escalating in person then doing one's own research/theorizing,
- Dedication; showing persistence in the game and seeing self-development as a life-long project,
- Openness; not reacting in an overly defensive or proud manner when challenged constructively, and
- Elder deference; showing respect to elite forum members and consideration to the responses provided.

According Recommendations:

1. Show that you have put in some effort before asking for help.

2. If you're asking a question about a specific situation or something related to your actual experience, include at least a few hundred words on the exact details of the situation to assist the readership in providing accurate feedback. Don't overload the board with thousands of words on irrelevant features of the story, however make sure you include enough detail to cover the main factors that may have contributed to the outcome [ref 4].
2.1. Conversely, if your story is long--say, over 1,000 words--then ensure to include bullet points or a summary for those looking for the 'TL;DR' informational short-cut.

3. Throw up a rep, or at least a quick like or "thank you" to anyone who helped.

4. Follow up on the feedback to show what you implemented.
4.1. Avoid throwing up your hands in resignation or complaining about the results when you ignored the advice provided or did not persist.

5. Test something out for yourself and report back rather than theorizing what may work without any empirical research or, moreover, any significant field experience to back up your claims.

Seems like there are a lot of new posters who are dropping the word shame whenever they get any sort of feedback.

And just too many dumb threads being started. Not all by just johnbozzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

I really think there needs to be a thread where new members can post their thread topic and if it gets enough likes, someone helps to start the thread with the post and proper credit given to the new member who suggested it.

That sounds like a great idea. It would probably help with the opposite problem too, of new users feeling hesitant to start a new thread.

True, all they would need to do is post it on the "Should this be a thread" thread and if 10 or more or 5 or more like it, someone can help start the thread.

It would cut down on people trying to troll the forum if they couldn't get a thread started - like those guys who advertise fake passports and shit.

Anyone who claims to be a longtime lurker would know this is an attempt to have a decent flowing forum.

And it would cut down on the "Where should I go threads"

Maybe I am just in a pissy mood.[Image: whip.gif][Image: angry.gif]

It would let members help direct newbies who want to post something by making them search first.

Often I have helped direct people to threads so I don't mind if I am online.

For every fappening thread thread-39966.html there are a decent number of questionable threads.

As the forum gains more attention, more and more guys are joining. But not all of them seem to have the best decision making skills.

It is just a suggestion. I'll let the decision makers determine if there is any interest.

My suggestion still means it is ok for new members to post on existing threads. It may even resuscitate older threads with good info because they will search and find them.

Though I madly respect BlurredSevens and Distant Light's game and look up to them they sometimes look past the fact that the free fun sex they have does some mental damage to these girls long term. I am just as guilty, fully admit it. Creating alpha widows and whatnot.

I once mentioned in response to DL that yeah if I met some guy in a table group that was all jokey and touchy with a few of the girls at the table as "friends" and they were eating out of the palm of his hand I would never want to date any of those girls seriously because I know there is fuckery going on. He would tout "yeah no one would know that I've banged 3 or 4 girls at the table everything is on the down low". He was like yeah I never thought what it would be like as another guy seeing that in action and how it affects how the girls are perceived (hoes).

BlurredSevens was pretty much the Free Love King. Expect nothing, give love.

Other guys love to just demonize the cold-hearted player (you mean any player? or are you just saying you know how to do it the right way? lulz) or usually come on selling they are "just a smooth, fun, chill, guy with no worries, ya know just vibing man, whatever comes, flowin' like a wet pussy"

"Every girl falls in love with me." Blah blah blah. Alright Romeo we get it. Somehow they are the hero of their own story and a voice of reason to be listened to. This has spanned not only this forum, it is in real life too usually with purple pill narcissists.

I think you can be a mix of both, cold cut when you need to be and chill at other times.

I don't think there's any right way to be a player, granted there are some standard tenants. Every man needs to find his way and use that to the best of his knowledge.

I guess maybe I fall more into the latter, because, shit happens. In some cases you might not be able to do anything about. In some cases I'm super intense trying to focus on what I could've done better and what to do next.

I don't think either cold cut guy or chill vibes guy should be criticizing each other, I'd prefer if they dole out advice and people can take things from both of them.

Here is a new troll category of which we have many examples.

I desperately need help with my self-esteem / escalation / job search / whore addiction/ mental state troll.

This troll makes a desperate appeal for "help" and always self-identifies with exact psychological terms found on popular women's menopause websites, pop psychology boards or other groups of victims. They have spent so many unsatisfying hours weeks and years on those other forums then they discover RVF and their insincere posts are met with benefit-of-the-doubt empathy by our good community. Looking at other posts of this type of troll is key. You will find they cannot keep their story straight, and the other posts are full of contradictions and appeals for attention of another variety. The poster "seems weird" at first but then converts into the full on asshole or idiot that defends his "problem" that he says he wanted help for.

Some clues to find this troll:

I have awesome, high, sincere, unquestionable self-esteem but I do tend to break mirrors with my fist when I see my image. Other than this I am perfect, I always approach every woman I see, over 300 a day, this proves I have awesome self-esteem. I just need help with one area, after a day of approaching my self-esteem dips around 11PM and I can't approach any more. I'm not worried about the mirrors, RVF how do I keep approaching after 300+ a day, this is my problem and I need advice.

OR you might read

I have read every PUA book ever written and also paid $6500 to attend a live seminar held on a Caribbean island where they promised to teach in field night game using the local bars. I did great on the pop quiz while wearing a wire and being monitored for the 15 keys to good night game. However outside of this I have never approached a girl. I am 28 years old. Once a girl approached me and I just walked away because my standards are so high. She was a weak 7 and I just will not lower myself to below an 8.5. Guys I really need your help what should I do.

So now matter what the I really need help troll says they are insincere, and at the end of the day don't want to listen to replies and are just:

EDIT: @Off the Reservation I second this. More succinctly put: Seeking help troll that doesn't actually want your advice or help just someone to vent to.

I know exactly what you're talking about. They get butthurt when you criticize them at all or point out areas of improvement, and the only thing they want to hear is that it's either not their fault or that there is a "Really quick and easy one-step fix!"

You can call him a "Sauce Troll" like they do on 4Chan/Reddit/etc.

They never contribute shit, but are constantly asking for more information, an ID on some pornstar, pornscene, or hotchick's Instagram.

Definition wise, asking for more information on a picture or video, is asking for sauce.

Additionally: A typical Sauce Troll is incompetent at using the Google Image Search feature as well. Many times doing an image search or screenshotting the first frame of a movie, usually will yield it's origin on Google. A Sauce Troll is too lazy or feels entitled to do the searching his own self. Only a contributor or a regular gets a pass on asking for sauce because they most likely either earned it by doing it for others or was not able to find it with search tools and Google and need help.
