Anyone who looks at Kanye West with admiration and respect has about as much good sense as people who go to professional wrestling matches to see a real fight. Both are total marks. Utterly delusional and out of touch with reality.
Notice the insults and shaming of other forum members for their opinion.
Look a few posts above where a poster was banned because of the rage he worked himself into.
Why does what Kanye West says in a post awards show interview make you so angry that you feel the need to put down your fellow man?
This overall aggressive and emotional kind of behavior seems to be the norm for the Everything Else forum these days. You can't even debate a topic, even something as simple as music or sports, without someone calling you a hater, thirsty, beta, delusional, a mark, etc. etc.
As Deluge pointed out, no one has cited Kanye (or any other musician, for that matter) as a role model. And the "reality" that we're supposedly "out of touch" with is that both fellow musicians, music critics, and music fans have heaped praise onto West for the past decade.
Beck after the Grammy's:
"[West] deserves to be onstage as much as anybody. How many great records has he put out in the last five years, right?"
"I still love [West] and think he's genius. I aspire to do what he does."

The truth is that if you are a pop star then you must be an attention whore. Because popularity and attention kinda overlap, you know.
Yes, because the nature of the game, which is mostly played online via social media, is that the most outrageous and outspoken are noticed and rewarded.
Think about how many recording artists/hollywood personalities who owe their careers to social media buzz directly generated from Youtube videos. There are no more Motown's willing to recruit & groom upcoming acts. Before a company will put money behind you, they want to know that you have a dedicated audience. Obviously, this leads to more attention whoring even more so for an established artist who's trying to keep their spot.
Talent and merit are an afterthought, companies and sponsors want to know how many fucking hits your website has gotten in the last 24 hours.
The thing is, Kanye wouldn't even be in the game if it weren't for artistic merit. The only reason he got to put out an album was his talent as a producer.
And records like The College Dropout simply weren't being made at that time with that kind of production value. Having an album of socially conscious lyrics, soul samples, and Mos Def and Common features become that kind of hit completely changed the game. It was a breath of life into a genre that had grown stagnant.
Then he immediately used that star power to push not only Mos and Com, but Slum Village, Dilated Peoples, Talib Kweli, Twista, Consequence, Rhymefest, etc.
Those guys were around long before Ye got on, but he was the one who created that lane in the mainstream and showed that there was a market for that kind of music, that other forms of hip hop were commercially viable other than club music. He ushered in an entirely new era.
People don't "understand" how people can "like" his music because they never really witnessed his career trajectory. They just see a mainstream musician who acts like an ass. But personally, as long as he continues to put out records like MBDTF and Yeezus, I don't really give a fuck what he does in the media or his personal life. Doesn't really affect me.
