Got the HIV... Warning to RVFers

Just found out ~3 months ago. Doc said I have been infected for 2-5 years but my last test was around 4 years ago so most likely 2-3 years. Never really had any symptoms. Never experienced what they call a seroconversion (acute flu-like symptoms a few weeks after infection). Went to get a hormone test and thought I should check just to make sure. Well I'm sure now, sure that I have da hiv.

Not sure where I picked it up, most likely in Vietnam or Philippines (where I live now).

The virus had progressed so far that clinically I actually have AIDS. (A CD4% under 13% is deemed an AIDS defining condition. Mine tested at 10.5%.)

Started taking meds as soon as a found out. Took me around 2 months for the virus to become undetectable in my blood. This means its impossible for me transmit to anyone else.

I am hopeful there will be a cure in the next 10-15 years. The research looks quite promising.

Just thought I should post this as a warning for anyone raw-dogging in these parts of the world.

I probably banged around 100-150 girls during this time, the majority with a condom (probably 70-80% of the time), but sometimes it broke, we ran out or I just didn't bother because I thought it wouldn't happen to me.

I thought only gays were at risk but I guess not….

Happy to answer any questions.

No troll.

Just remember that the reason people die of AIDS is due to their immune systems getting old. That is what aids is, an old immune system in an otherwise young soma. The retrovirus forces the leukocytes to divide and divide, and eventually you get short telomeres, i.e. old cells. This in turn opens the door to all possible diseases.

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5031464/
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/25885433

I would seriously consider taking telomerase activators. Expensive yes, but it should help a lot. (I`m taking it myself in order to stop or slow down ageing in general.)
http://www.defytimer.com/product/telomer...-capsules/

There is actually a method using gene therapy delivery of the telomerase gene that would cure AIDS right now. Not because you eliminate the virus, but rather due to full telomerase activation, meaning the HIV infected white blood cells can divide all they want, since telomerase resets the clock for each successive round of mitosis. Retroviruses are not cytocidal, it`s the accelerated cell division that is the problem. Unfortunately it`s still to expensive for mainstream use, but that might change in not to long.

It's easy to get misled by certain reports on HIV prevalence in countries like Vietnam. It's actually not that high, although certain individuals and organizations call it an epidemic. The adult prevalence of HIV in Vietnam is about 0.40 percent, lower than countries as Ukraine, Latvia and Moldova. Thailand has a higher rate of 1.10 percent.

I caught chlamydia from the first girl I fucked (a nice girl by the way, this was in the 80's), and it made me sterile. Bad luck does happen. Yeah, the odds are better for most people, but when someone loses that roll of the dice, don't think you can call bullshit. Low odds != impossible.

Exactly. Low probability does not equal zero probability. Also as the OP stated, it depends on the viral load of the girl you're having sex with along with the number of encounters with different women, all of which will serve to increase the probability. Add to that doing anal with these girls and your chances increase a fair bit. Now if he was messing with ladyboys then his risk would skyrocket but for now I'm going to take him at face value.

Those statistics might technically be correct but they are largely irrelevant.

The primary thing that really matter when it comes to transmission is the viral load which wasnt controlled in the study that produced those %s.

When someone first contracts the virus their viral load will shoot up to ~2million copies per ml of blood. During this stage (before the body produces antibodies) they are highly contagious and any form of penetrative sex carries a high risk of transmission( 20%+).

After the body identifies the virus then it will start to produce antibodies and the transmission rate falls rapidly. Then for 3-10 years the transmission rate will be quite low (assuming not on HAART) and will increase gradually each year until progression to AIDS.

So those numbers are very misleading. If you are involved in a promiscuous scene like the nightlife scene and you have unprotected sex with someone who just seroconverted then the risk of transmission is very very high.

Those statistics are actually dangeorus and were partly the reason why I was so blase about protection.

What he said, illustrated in a graph (couldn't embed the one from Wikipedia).

That there is a scary picture.

Best wishes to the OP.

I've got a friend who's so promiscuous - a natural with women. He dismisses the idea of ever wearing a condom. Knowing what I know, I'd never so much as hold hands with any woman he's been with - and that's just based on the acquired STDs he's told me about.

It's easy to reduce the risk mindset to pros only but nowadays, numbers wise there's often little difference.

As i mentioned above, that`s the leukocytes telomeres getting old and senescent/apoptotic. There are real science based things you can do about that. (Not just focusing on killing the HIV)

Thanks. I still don't get how some people don't understand this.

I had to go one day to a hospital, where a group of people with HIV were taking a course. I thought " Okay, so people say the risk is 0,x % , but here there are, more than hundred people infected" That makes you think...

Really?

What STD's makes you sterile?

Also, did you use a condom?

You are actually less likely to get it from pros, pros usually wear condoms, it’s your average girl in the streets that doesn’t like condoms. I always wear one, always, even with main girlfriends.

Although I heard that is possible to get it even with a condom, as the condom is made with layers and layers of latex or any other material, there is always the possibility of getting it.

This is a myth.

Risk is with old/not lubricated condom which finally breaks.

You've gone beyond Super Player, according to Steelex.

With AIDS, you're now at Super Duper Player status. See:

Lol. Most of you posting this are living with your heads in the sand.

It's just herpes. It ain't aids.

If you hit real super player notch counts (150+), you're likely to catch something. I've had gono and Chlamydia, and currently have HSV and HPV.

If a little skin irritation bothers you that much, you're too much of a pussy to be a player anyway.

I don't know if it's any consolation, but hey, it's something.

Guys if you’re having high risk sex then you should double wrap with a layer of tabasco hot sauce in between the condoms so if one breaks, you or your partner will know to pull out right away. Been working for me for years.

That's a HIGH AMOUNT considering you don't just die from AIDS all of a sudden. If a few girls you know have already DIED, imagine how many are unknown carriers.

I don't know ANYONE that has died but know of 2 people who are HIV+in my city/extended social group, and they're gay. You're talking about girls where the odds are usually lower. So once again, that's a high amount.

As for questioning the OP troll level on a topic where people lack so much knowledge in the first place, even if he were tolling (rude assumption), it would still be a useful thread for people who have zero knowledge about the disease, causes, symptons, cures etc... so thanks Wrapyojunk, and again, sorry to hear.

I guess this CD4% is not an AIDS defining event then?

Everything is good?

A doctor can make an estimated guess based on CD4 deterioration. Its not written on my file or anything but I asked the doctor for their best guess and thats what she said.

I don't know the details of how AIDS testing works, but from you mentioning that your doc is a "she" and assuming you told her your sexual history, is it possible she might be fucking with you? Could there be another reason why your white blood cells are low? Or could your blood sample have been mixed up?

I've been fucked by a female doctor before (long story short, I was banging someone's daughter from her ethnic community).

Are you going to get a re-test and a second opinion or is this a definite HIV+ result?

I have had various tests at 3 different labs.

Actually no questions were asked about my sexual history.
