Probably partly the stats didn't use a big enough sample to be totally accurate but there's probably some truth to it due to less condom use in low income countries and higher rates of other STDs that make you more susceptible.

I assumed there were three factors leading to a higher transimssion rate.

1. Genetics. Blacks (who primarily inhabit low income countries) are more susceptible to HIV infection.
2. Poor diet and living conditions which leads to the population on average having weaker immune systems.
3. Different viral strains have different transmission rates.

If you plan to do anal, ALWAYS use a condom. Even with my gf, I use it (for anal). Not only for HIV but for other diseases.

There's a test kit you buy in pharmacies. They're cheap and you can see the result in 20min. It's recommended to do the test again after a month (or more I think) to be sure. You take a drop of blood from your finger (you don't feel it), put it in the kit and you can see the result. Very useful if you plan to bang a girl more often.
