I'm 100% GALICIAN + VALENCIAN/CATALAN. Probably, I'm a lot whiter than you...but then again. I didn't expect any intellectual discussion from a troll like you.

Then why are you disrespecting, and even often hating on, your own country and bloodline, mocking the (obviously glorious) history of your own people?

Hombre, your people conquered, with their bare hands and guts, entire continents, ruled half of the world, and still are the number-one touristic destination in the world (having stolen this place from terror-hit France). Shouldn't you be proud? (The Spanish people have also given some of the best artists to the world, and the best sportsmen ever, from Nadal to Iniesta to Indurain)

I'm not mocking anything. Just stating the facts. I'm done talking to you. You waste my time. Most Spaniards don't consider us the same people. I certainly would NEVER in my life consider a Castilian to be like me, or an Andalusian. You know jack shit about this country and your posts show it. Yeah sure, pride? Spaniards are the first not to be proud of the country. You simply don't get it. Many people here do NOT FEEL or WANT to be Spanish. Have you ever been to this country? You sound really ignorant.

Have you ever been to this country? Dude, I own property in Spain, have been countless times to Spain, and quite obviously speak fluent Spanish... Spaniards whom I know, are proud of Spain and their history. Obviously you frequent mostly safe-hating and whining leftist Spaniards, whereas I frequent dignified "right-wing" Spaniards, that explains the discrepancy here.

Also, you should note the fact that calling other members "Bitch", as you did, is against forum's rules, and you've been suspended, already, in the past for breaking this very rule... just saying, parce, just saying... you might want to show some respect to the forum rules.

Why should I respect you when you've shown no respect to me? Where I'm from, respect has to be earned. If I'm banned it won't matter to me, believe me. That's their call...but the fact you even bring it up just shows how whiny you are...and confirms my worst suspicions about you. You have been bitching against me since the beginning. Please don't address me again because I am simply going to ignore you.

I have BUSINESS experience in Spain, I don't just live here as a foreigner like you. You know nothing about this country and you aren't even Spanish to begin with so please don't go there.

How many times do I have to say I DO NOT watch or accept what the "msm" says? You are so tedious to deal with because you just keep repeating the same bs over and over again to see if somehow it will stick and you change my mind. It's not going to happen, you don't know Spain, you probably, MOST LIKELY don't have business experience here...and as for the self-hate...ON THE CONTRARY! Actually, it is most Spaniards who say I should NOT be proud of any heritage and instead embrace more the USA! So you see again what you are saying is just crap and you are making insane assumptions.

With regard to the Catholic Church, any serious historian will say the same. Catholic Church has been a negative force in the world, not anything positive.

By the way, the colonization of the Americas by Spain is nothing to be proud about. They were a disaster...and still are. How can anyone be proud of creating third world countries? Believe me, I used to put the Spanish flag and it was actually Spanish people who told me not to...that it didn't make sense for an "americano" to do that...so whatever. Spanish people DO NOT accept me as Spanish anyway so why bother? I learned that in the end, you really are from where you are respected and accepted as an equal or at least, left alone.

And no, I am not going to be shouting "Santiago" any time soon. I don't know if you are a troll or just simply trying to annoy me...but you really sound ridiculous. If any Spaniard did that they'd be the laugh of the town...and with good reason. What century are you living in? With that kind of attitude, of course you definitely are NOT going to be picking up women any time soon. Youd' scare them away with all that nonsense.

No hope for you son of Soros.

And by the way, very strange Spanish people you met along your way, never experienced someone with that amount of self hatred that you speak about, maybe you have been dealing all along with "gente muy rara", seems like a kind of talk that comes from Madrid feminist circles.

Nope....think more business classes. I dont associate with feminist circles...so wrong again Sherlock. Most "respectable" business people in Spain do NOT carry the flag with pride and try to act as cosmopolitan as possible. Ask any English teacher in Madrid and see what they say about company classes. Of course trying to be cosmopolitan and BEING cosmopolitan are two different things.

Again your making misconceptions. Not carrying the flag with pride is one thing, hating the flag is another.

I do not carry the Portuguese flag with pride, nor do I have to, I like many things about my country and hate many more, my country has done nothing for me, but certainly I am not ashamed to be born in a beautiful country and be a part of a tribe that has been proven to be brave and ingenious on the course of our history.
Citing JFK "Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country".

Also I thought the "respectable" business people in Spain learnt English during their formation years...

Nope...not even the President here speaks English. Spaniards are TERRIBLE at languages, so wrong again.

Anyway, your diatribe about how proud you are to be Portuguese means nothing to me. GOOD FOR YOU. Now let's move on to the important points.

Yeah Soros son, this is too much sjw'ing for me, you are reversing my words towards you're agenda of criticizing Spain, I did not speak of how proud I was, just said I have no shame, opposite to you.

Go burn some Spanish flags and throw darts to Pizarro, Cortés, Gaudi, Cervantes, Picasso, Dali, Placido Domingo, Javier Bardem, Nadal, Xavi, Iniesta, Almodovar, Gasol, Paco de Lucia, José Carreras, El Greco, Luis Bunuel, Miró, Charles V, or any other picture of a Spanish great.

I know you will say, "that's the kind of answers you receive in backwards and stupid Spain, absolutely no debate". But it is the only kind of answer that can be given to someone of your character.

If you notice, the ONLY people on this thread who have given me shit for my posts are PORTUGUESE and SOME Spaniards..or continentals. Most others agree with me, INCLUDING thinking Spaniards. No, no need to throw darts. I have money to make and a country to run -- as they say to me here everyday "levantando el pais no"? "Lifting up the country, right"? How many Spanish do you employ? ZERO. You offer nothing to the Spanish economy and yet intend to lecture me on Spain. What a f-ing joke.

Again totally disagree with most of whats being said.

Honestly i think your attitude turns people away. Its very negative and condescending.

How on earth are Italians unfriendly... It seems every time i travel i befriend some. Met a group of italians last week while solo and they made it a point to get me to go with them to the club after AND reached out the next day to see what i was up to.

Also when i go to italy i find people very friendly.

Re: Americans, i find them very friendly as well, but you must be aware that the US in the eyes of everyone is a place where very few real friendships are made, its a great place for small talk with strangers but no real lasting connections.

I may not agree with it but the view is that american friendships are one night stands while southern european ones are long term relationships.

Youre basically mad that a girl who has a boyfriend wont sleep with you.

Is it a knock on their friendliness if they have the same old friendships all their lives? I do too. Thats what a real friendship is. It lasts. Noone cares about postcards.

Stop trying to change people to suit you. If you want to make friends, adapt and accept other peoples ways.

People are free to disagree as much as they want, but until you have lived here for many years, you don't have any real authority to speak about this topic.

I turn people away? That's news to me. Most people on here, including SPANIARDS themselves, have said they mostly agree with me. The fact that I turn YOU away in no way makes that reality universal. You're not everyone. You're just an individual who happens to disagree with me. Really, it's not the end of the world. I can live if a stranger disagrees with me...knowing he hasn't even lived in this country called Spain.

Re: Italians. Yes, Italians are friendlier than the Spanish, I'll give you that much but it really depends WHERE in Italy. People from Northern Italy will not be as friendly and gregarious as Siclians. I didn't call the Italians "unfriendly" by the way. I said they weren't as friendly as they THINK AND SAY they are. Reading the posts I write can make a lot of difference. It's always a good idea to read before you comment on something.

Re: American friendships: if it's a one night stand, it isn't a friendship isn't it? Do you really believe no one in America has real friends? Admittedly, yes, many American relationships are superficial because it is an extremely transient country. You know, in some places, people have things to do, places to go and people to see. Life for some of us is not all about sitting in the same sleepy village bar talking to the same people over and over again. Americans are a people on the move...although maybe not quite on the run like in Beirut. [Image: wink.gif]

You then say some crazy stuff like I'm mad that "a girl who has a boyfriend won't sleep with me". Seriously, wtf? Where in the hell do you get that from? That's the most ridiculous thing I've read all day in a long time.

"Stop trying to change people to suit you. If you want to make friends, adapt and accept other peoples ways."

Beta alert. LOL.

It's my job and business to change people to suit me - no progress would be made were it not for that simple fact. And believe me, I have PLENTY of friends. I would suggest you think a little bit more before you write.

Most people on this forum are great, but I feel like some people haven't yet reached maturity or even puberty.

Plenty of sociopaths, unlikeable people, people who you dont want to be associated with, have lived ten years + in many places. Doesnt make them qualified to analyse the culture.

Re: Experience.

Right, except that I'm a businessman and have created jobs here and have BACKGROUND in the country. So, no matter how you slice it, still more qualified, much more, than you.

Re: Friendships.

Nope. What I have said, if you had bothered to read at all, was that Americans don't typically SAY they are so friendly nor do they think they are. Most Spaniards you talk to see themselves as very friendly and also tell you they are...and complain about how "cold" the Americans and English are. Italians and I suppose hot-blooded lebanese like you do the same. It's all a bunch of BS anyway but at least in America most people don't go around saying they are so friendly. See the difference? No, because that requires reading.

Yep, in Spain people have other people to see...no complaints there. They especially love to see me because of what I offer. I offer a service most Spaniards want (at least nominally and willing to pay for it). I doubt you can offer the same. Maybe you're just a lonely little man and expect everyone else to be as miserable as you. Don't know, and really don't care. If you have a problem with me by the way, take that shit up with me in private messages and don't ruin a good discussion thread. Read what the moderator has already said. Or did you not even bother to read that either?

You're turning this into a personal whiny personal attack on me. Short man syndrome? Poor thing.

With regard to your wars in Beirut...and? And? And? Right. Don't give a crap about your country's national problems. My comment about being on the run was more about running WITHIN Beirut from the bombs, not out of the country.

Madrid? Errr...I don't live in Madrid anymore...so wrong again. Well, enough people listened to me to make me earn enough money to open three more companies. I may not be Bill Gates (didn't pretend otherwise...but your own insecurity tells you that) but I sure as hell know I'm not at the bottom of the barrel as are so many other envious souls.

My job is not to be a teacher. I no longer teach - I MANAGE educational consulting services. Big difference.

"Have you ever asked yourself why would someone want to be friends with someone who behaves and talks like you?"

Maybe you should ask my many friends (of all backgrounds). that question, not me.

I'm sorry for others on here who want to have a serious discussion only to be interrupted by the frequent flies who have nothing constructive to add except to attack me on a personal level. How sad. How immature. Sorry your life is crap. Not my fault or problem.

So, fresh update: he hates Spaniards, Portugueses ("hunted by Spanish police" lol), we knew that already, but we now learn that he also dislikes Northern Italians (and to a lesser extent, Southern Italians, too) and despises Lebanese people. No nationality will escape his wrath!

Baldrich, although I have mentioned before that I agree with many remarks that you made about Spain, I think you are pushing too far here.

Yes, most people in Spain are what you said (and that is a trait common to Southern Europe in general). But, instead of wasting your time there, being angry at thing you will never, ever change, why do not you simply move to some place where you will feel more welcomed, and where people are more open minded? Eastern Europe will, for example, be great for your. Relatively cheap, more open and very good marriage material (you'll need some Game though, to weed undesirables)!

SEA will probably be great too.

One thing I will never understand is why you hate your own history? Spanish history has a lot of men that you should be really proud of. Viriathus, Trajan, Pelayo, Cortez...these are all people that left a significant mark on world's history.

And why such hate against the Church? Yes, they did not so great things in the past (my ancestors were driven from Spain by them, for example, but I do not hate it), but, who kept most of the Classical culture in Europe? The Church (and to much less extent, Arabs). Who did the first experiments in genetics? A Catholic monk. Who first suggested the Big Bang theory? A Catholic monk.

Im simply disputing your line of reasoning as well as disagreeing based on my own experiences.

You have said theyre not friendly then criticized them for doing everything with their friends as opposed to solo, then praised yourself for walking around with headphones because it means youre "minding your own business". So someone who makes illogical arguments like that is not a reference regarding friendship, whether he lived 100 or 1000 years in a place.

Heres what you said in the other thread:

You can easily work (as is my case) for 40 hours per week and make 1000 € net pay. So you get "free" healthcare (you pay for it and your employer through taxes, so it's not really "free")

Sure, you can pretend that you ment you pay yourself as a salary in the business you later said you owned after we pointed out your job, but its a weird way for an employer to talk about and word his job status, dont you think?

Anyway, you also said:

Quote:Quote:

The problem for me is the job market over there. Here it's terrible but there is more demand for private lessons (Which is what I do) and educational stuff...especially if you speak English, than in the US.

Returning to the US...I will be in a major city. But it is also tough to find a job especially when sending your résumé from Spain

but even though teaching languages is the easiest thing at this point (because it's what I've been boxed into doing), it's not really my field. I'm a Science/Finance guy with a Math degree. But yes, those are definitely options. At this point I really just want to get into a more business-like environment though,

Perhaps you should tell yourself the big difference between "educational consultant manager something" and "teaching languages" (which is what you said you do).

Not buying the 4 companies story, not even buying the one company one actually.

Nice troll (in my opinion), although i havent figured out if your hate for these cultures is actually real or not. But i dont care at this point. Enjoy your thread.

but even though teaching languages is the easiest thing at this point (because it's what I've been boxed into doing), it's not really my field.

I know the difference and I've done both. Experience really is useful. Im going to continue to waste my time with people here who dont have the facts.

I will respond to others who have mature things to tell me.

Visiting MAD for the first time.

Not clear from this thread where exactly I want to be located. Can anyone give me an intersection I want to be close to?

Thanks

Baldrich, you seem to hate Madrid because strange men don't speak to you yet you live there for many years. You have now moved to another part of Spain but you also seem to be quite angry and resentful of the country a whole (history, culture, women etc). You stay there for business however it is one of the worst an difficult countries to do business in my opinion including complex tax systems and a policy clamp down on small business owners such as yourself. Idon't think you have mentioned food or drink, which I think is amongst the best in Europe if not the world. You probably hate this also and stick to foreign gastronomy. This is an inaccurate datasheet and you must have had terrible time and bad experiences that have resulted in evident frustration and anger. Perhaps you should go and live in one the overpriced enclaves for uk expats, watch your home sports whilst eating your €20 big boy burger. Have you ever thought that maybe it's you that is the issue?

Out.

Again..."the best gastronomy in the world" is subjective - it is a matter of opinion but like so many Spanish people (I'm guessing you are Spanish because of your name and comments) you seem to think your food is the only "right" one in the world. No, I don't "stick to foreign gastronomy" -- why do you even think that? Even if I wanted to do that, it's not as if Spain was a good or known place for variety when it came to food options. You can't even compare the choices you have in an American supermarket or the restaurants (with MANY varieties and options) to limited Spain. Anybody who has traveled here knows that though they food MAY be good (a matter of opinion) there are hardly as many choices as there are in more developed places.

Here we go again with the "burger" thing. If you really think all Americans eat that...who is being ignorant? I'm not British by the way and I probably speak better Spanish than you and know more history than you do. But I am not going to waste my time with over-sensitive people on here who like to sugarcoat everything and act passive-aggressive.

Got to agree with food aspect for Spain as maybe my expectations were to high.
On the medium or high end places it was alright but with smaller portions but US/ Canada prices.
Got tired on the most Tapas menu as most average places as there was a lot fried dishes and not as many healthy options.

Exactly it's pretty much mostly fried food. It gets really boring after a while...and heaven forbid you order anything "custom" or "different" -- in the US you can decide what to put on your salad and under what terms (if you pay for it). In Spain, you must have the lunch THEIR WAY OR ELSE. Like peas in your paella? NO NO NO..."paella DOESN'T COME WITH PEAS!!!" and you must eat it how they like it rather than how you would like to order it.

There are almost no options anywhere and even supermarkets like Mercadona generally only carry their brand - hacendado. You can go to more expensive supermarket where the choices are much better, but still no where near what you are used to in a US or British supermarket. Spanish people are in love with all that is theirs...and don't care much about trying anything new when it comes to food. They tried (in Mercadona) to sell Chicken curry for a while...those ready made meals...and it was a massive failure.

If you can't get good curry in Spain, what's the point of going?

Went through Madrid recently for a business trip; a few observations:

Getting around:
Public transport is cheap and excellent. Uber is available after a long fight to get it legal, but the taxis are still decent and I did not get ripped off using them while there. You can also use a local app which works with the taxis just like Uber does, so that keeps them honest but I never needed that.

Eats & Drinks:
Food is amazing, both at cheap tapas places and more expensive restaurants.

Drinks - one curiosity is the rise of the gin and tonic in recent years, simply called "gin tonic" here. Every self-styled fancy bar has a list of ten or more gins and several tonics, and they give you a very healthy pour. Makes sense given the climate in the summer and the number of expat Brits who probably got them started on G&Ts.

Night Life:
Late night action on the weekends can go as late (early?) as 5 or 6 AM, but not at as many places as I'd thought. During the week Madrid doesn't seem any wilder than most other European cities. I certainly didn't get the idea that it was the "party capital of Europe" - far from it. Most bars close around 1:30 during the week but a few stay open.

1862 Dry Bar - as mentioned earlier in the thread is a great cocktail joint. But there's plenty of others popping up all over the city. Try to stay near the center of town for the best access to a good selection.

Opium - poked my head in there too late on a Sunday but there was still an OK crowd, and all the women were very attractive, if a bit slutty. Not sure but they could have been pros - didn't think it was worth the 50 euro cover so I passed. May be worth a shot on the right night and time.

Joy Eslava - kind of a lame club in a converted theater. Small crowd around midnight on a weekday, but it eventually got going later on with more people, The problem is it was all thirsty guys. I swear the way these desperate losers behaved reminded me of some decrepit Indian shithole in Bangalore. Ok, maybe not that bad, but seriously, the red pill hasn't been fully absorbed by young Spanish guys quite yet. After this experience, I totally get why Spain is so popular with slutty American college chicks, the only people of any quantity I've met who've spent significant time there.

Women, generally:
I didn't get the idea that Madrid was the lesbian capital of the world as there were plenty of attractive females with long hair out and about, and very few fatties. But they did have an attitude generally. People everywhere will nearly walk right into you like you're not even there, so I don't think its necessarily a bitch shield I'm seeing, just Spanish attitude. Regardless, appearance definitely counts around here so consider your wardrobe carefully. Do yourself a favor if you want to get into the better clubs, leave the baseball hats, team jerseys and high tops at home.

Other:
Culturally, the writing may be on the wall for Spain. I saw a gigantic banner hanging from city hall that read, in English: "Refugees Welcome!" That said, Spain isn't attracting many since they can't afford to pay them the giveaways like Sweden and Germany have been doing - perhaps a blessing in disguise.

Economically, Madrid like most of Spain has been in the dumps for a while, which would make you think the attitudes of the local women would change a bit. Alas, I think as others suggested they're just a bit more selective at how and where they gold dig - nothing extreme enough to warrant a shift in their fundamental values has happened anywhere, at least not yet. When the economy gets worse and there's even more Muslim rapefugees telling them how to dress, who knows, but by then it may be too late.

Crime wise, Madrid and Spain generally have always been known for pickpockets - and these guys are good. Might even want to consider a euro-shoulder bag for any day trips to tourist areas or crowded sites instead of a dorky and more vulnerable backpack. Keep track of your stuff while there and of course encrypt your phone and use a pass code in the event it gets jacked from you.

I have been in Madrid at least 20 times in the last 5 years, always to party and game.

Moving
Metro is the cheapest/fastest way. Also, the city is visitable by foot. To the airport use Metro or Renfe (train)

Restaurants
Lol, so fucking cheap.. Try Museu del Jamón, La Surena or La Risuena. Typical Spanish food, based on ham, cheese and potato.

Day-Game
Retiro park is the spot. You can aproach locals and tourists there. Complutense university is also a good venue.

Night-game
Spanish girls are easy as fuck to ONS. Mostly if you master spanish language, they love a foreign guy who can talk to them in their own language.
Venues:
- Kapital: 7 floors with locals and foreigns
- Gabana: College club with local cuties
- Fabrik: 5000 people club, huge as fuck, throws every kind of party, just check on their facebook (there is this universiparty where ONS is almost a sure thing)[/b]
- Others: Marco Aldany, Shoko, New Garamond, Le Boutique, Penélope

Back this morning from Madrid. Went with my girl for a weekend. Compared to say Barcelona I was really impressed with the quality I saw on the streets. I would imagine there are opportunities for gaming in tourists in both these cities. For obvious reasons, it seems there is a big South American population in Madrid with some of the best-looking girls having a Colombian or Venezuelan look. They had big bums and boobs that is more my type whereas there were some pretty skinny Spanish girls. Saw quite a lot of blonde hair aswell. It seemed as if pretty much every girl had long hair down to her ass. It was seriously close to an Eastern European standard for me. Any girls I saw alone were visitors/students/perhaps new arrivals from South America? Any Spanish were always with someone anywhere whether the street or a tapas bar. It would seem closed off though unless you knew most of these girls through friends or since you were young.
