Brought a girl I thought I had picked up back to my hotel in NY. Was shitfaced at that point.

Back at the hotel, I start taking her clothes off and she tells me that she needs some money (obviously noticed I had cash due to the high class hotel room). I tell her no. She gets dressed, walks out to the corridor.

I am so wasted at this point that I fall asleep thinking she had already left.

Then shit gets real.. I wake up hungover the next morning with my laptop gone, phone gone, luxury watch gone, some credit cards gone. Yep.. bitch was just waiting in the corridor for me to fall asleep. Hooking up with random girls hasn't been the same since. No matter how drunk, I kick them either out or store all my shit in the hotel safe.

To make it even funnier, NYPD didn't believe me that I didn't pay her or had ordered her. I'm sure the stains on the sheet from the girl the night before didn't help them to believe my story either... Travel insurance didn't help either since I let the person in by myself. 6000$ lesson learned. At least I still had my passport.

Trainwreck why didnt you just lock the door when she left? I always make sure i lock the door when a girl leaves and never let them leave your room/house by themselves, always walk them to the door.

I had this girl in DR trying to steal my sunglasses, she put the sunglasses on her bag when i walked to the toilet. I cameback to the room and i noticed that my sunglasses were gone. I pretended that i didnt see it, she was a 10 in my book, i made my move to fuck her, ended up fucking her, when she walks to the toilet, i take out the sunglasses from her bag and keep it in my pocket. She comes back, looks at her bag, starts searching..i asked her,,have you lost anything? She said ''no'..i walked her home.

However im fucking her again when i return to DR, call me an ignorant, but she was really that hot, i dont give a fuck if she steals lol.

was wasted, it was a hotel door that normally automatically locks and the bitch opened and closed the door just to make me think she was gone.

btw: According to the NYPD officers a quite common occurrence. Said that they mostly target people in their 30+ since it's more likely that they'll be married and don't want to report anything to the cops. I'm in my early 20's but I guess the watch gave her a hint that I may be a good target.

In rough areas of South London I had three attempted muggings. Every time I stood my ground and showed that I'm not an easy mark and got away. In one case I even ended up bumping fists with my three would be attackers and getting my watch back from them, minutes after I'd had one guy's fist a couple of inches from my face. Luckily there were no weapons involved (just threats of kicking my ass) so I stayed calm and decided not to run. A typical London mugging starts with a demand like "bruv give me your phone" and escalates from there depending on how you handle it.

If they perceive any type of weakness or fear on your part then they'll walk all over you. never break eye contact. never go on the defensive. if someone starts talking shit you can't just stand there quietly and take it. you have to become twice as aggressive and loud as them. you have to make them back off.

a few weeks ago i was in edmonton in north london (rough area) and there was an incident were two cars started blowing horns at each other. this black guy got out of one of the cars and started talking shit and giving it large. the turk in the other car wasn't having it, he got out with mighty turkish rage. the black guy saw that the turk was more than ready to throw down a beating and promptly retreated.

i'm half turkish, half kurdish. one thing about turks and kurds in london is that they will never back down and are very hard to intimidate. they're fucking crazy. in north london (tottenham, haringey etc) there was a big clashing of the turks/kurds and the blacks. most muggings in london are done by blacks, and turks/kurds refuse to be mugged. they have very alpha (i'm not taking any shit from anyone on the fucking planet) attitude.

I have had two major incidents that involved property loss and/or physical harm.

1. 2006 Italy

I was doing graudate work and living in a swank apartment in a building where there was an electronic security door and then 2 apartments on each floor, and then my penthouse on the 5th floor.
I got back one evening around midnight, not that drunk, and once past the security door, right at the foot of the stairwell, there was a young Italian couple smoking, and while they had a bit of a hipster vibe to them they didn't look so bad. We talked as much as we could with a combination of spanish and my poor italian. They told me they lived in the building, I said I was going to bed early but if they wanted a drink and some music, to come up to my place. Everything was fine, we had some drinks, and the last thing I remember is being offered a glass of water.
I woke up in the early morning hours lying on my floor. The first thing I noticed was an excruciating headache, ten times more than any hangover I ever had in my life. A minute later I felt a throbbing in my hand and looked over. My right thumb on my hand was crushed, swollen, purple, and bent in an odd way.
A lot of stuff was missing from my apartment, probably about 10,000 euros between electronics and watch and cuff links.
I ended up going to the hospital, where they told me I had been given a near fatal dose of GHB. I don't know what happened to my thumb but I assume they dropped something or smashed me with something. At first I thought I would lose the thumb, but 3 operations and a lot of bullshit and it was ok.

2. 2008 Venezuela

I was out getting wine in the early evening for my Venezuelan lizard (she is a rockstar on my starting lineup, her dad is a major player and is one of the top dogs at PDVSA and my friends and I call her Venezuelan Oil Girl in private) in Merida, when I got caught in a sudden rainstorm on my way back. I ducked under an overhang and waited it out. Nearby were a couple young kids maybe 14 and they walked over and started talking to me and asked for a cig, I said no and they asked for money, I said no again, and turned to walk away. In the meantime 3 of their friends had walked up behind me, and so now it's 5 of them and my back is against the wall and I very quickly realize what is going down. Out of nowhere one of them, who were all a foot shorter than me, clocked me from the left and broke my glasses and opened up a cut on my face. I then made a big mistake...without thinking I instantly responded to the pain by smashing this kid's nose right into his face with an overhand cross. He falls to the ground screaming, and in the same instant, one of the other fuckers pulls a gun on me, sticks it in my face and says "quieto putito o te matamos." Then they rifled through my pockets, found my decoy wallet, and then for good measure gave me an ass kicking while pointing the gun at me. I came back to the hotel bloodied and beaten, and my Venezuelan girl at first was shocked and then berated me for fighting back which 99/100 gets you killed, and then we broke out a bottle of wine and some colombian marching powder and fucked raw dog till dawn so in the end it was ok.

I remember reading that during the London riots the Turkish areas were about the only places that didn't get smashed up. They just stood outside their shops with big fuck off kebab knives and told anyone if they wanted to smash their shop or rob them they could come try it. Good stuff.

I missed this gem from over four years ago. Luckily, the guy eventually stopped choking him or we would have missed out on a ton of comedy.

The victim here wants to turn this into a learning experience but for him that seems to mean adopting a Zen attitude of 'shit happens' and you move on. I don't see much of an attempt on his part to understand why this happened or what he could have done to reduce the risk.

I have a few stories to share but this one is probably the worst I experiencedl in good ol' London. These are all from when I was younger and running around the city late at night.

Me and around 6 friends had just finished painting a legal graffiti spot and jumped on a bus from Oxford Circus heading back to our area. Night busses in London are enough amusement (on weekends) to not warrant you pulling your phone out. Being cool kids we sat at the top floor at the back of the bus.

5 minutes from our stop a group of 8 guys jumped on the bus and sat in front of us. They were dressed in all black with black bandannas and with their hoods up. We started talking amongst ourselves and decided to jump off a stop early as we had a feeling that we were about to get robbed or worse (there was a big problem with knife crime in the area I was living in)

We jumped off a stop before, as we walked a few steps we heard a rushing of feet from behind us and saw the group running off the bus after us. We all ran, me and my brother managed to shoot around a corner and did a swan dive head first into very thick bushes. Just as we sat up 3 of them came around the corner, one of them holding what looked like a kitchen knife saying "them man are quick"

We sat there for around 20 minutes in the rain, I'd just bought new Nike trainers so I was more than annoyed about the whole situation.

We managed to find everyone except one, he had been unlucky, his shoe had fallen off as he was running and 2 of the group had caught him and stolen everything he had on him. In his words, one of the guys went to stab him, he pushed him, turned around and jumped a fence.

He managed to get away with hiding in a doghouse.

That friend in question had only recovered from getting stabbed 9 times a few months ago literally 10 minutes walk from where this happened.

You need to bury your Havaianas when you go to the beach. The thing is, getting them buried might get them lost the same way...

Costa Rica is like that also... when i got there the guy I was staying with said if you go to the beach dont take anything because they will steal literally anything. he said if you needed to wear shoes hide them in the bushes near the beach. one guy didnt really think they would steal his flip flops, but sure enough they did.

On my daily exercise on the beach in Thailand I always left my sandals in full view on a bench. When I came back .....
They were still there! Always!

Last time was in Medellin. I was jogging/running from my apartment to exercise at the spot in Parque Lleras. I lived in a kinda rough spot of Medellin and some guys saw me with my iPhone on my hands. A few mins later as I was running 2 and (drugged) guys one had a knife in his hand, come up in a motorcycle and I knew what was gonna happen (they didn't have any helmets and two guys in a motorcycle is illegal there). So I just ran a bit faster and changed my route so they could not catch me, if they tried they would've just smashed onto oncoming traffic.

First time was in Puerto Rico. I was with a few friends just pumping gas at 1am. And some guys come to the gas station and cut the line in front of us. Then I kinda had a bad feeling about them. So then my friend starts pumping the gas, we're in the car talking and the guys made a U turn back into the gas station. One comes up to us with a glock 40 with extended mag, and took all of our iPhones, expensive luxury belts, an $3k watch and my friends gold chain. Man that sucked.

I was in Gothenburg (Sweden) Two years ago where I was turning into a small street in oldtown to go to my apartment at the time. As I was walking there were 5/6 thin ~170cm somalian guys turning in the same street. Nothing happend in the end as im jacked, taller and put my alpha "I will take three guys with me walk" As these people only go after the weak in society.
Not a mugging but I thought I'd share a multicultural story..

Well, I was pretty sure I have some awesome stories to tell, but now, that I have kept thinking... I can' t remind myself of even one situation, except for when a few friends tried to recruit me into their "mugging" gang when were 12. They scored some serious money as for kids thanks to that and they wanted me in because of my strong kicks. I've passed.

A friend was visiting me in Medellín and we had gone out. We ended up hooking up with girls at the club. I left with mine in a taxi and went back to our apartment. He somehow managed to get blown out by his chick and decided to walk back to the apartment--bad choice.

Two kids on a motorcycle pulled up, passenger jumped off with a pistol in his hand and started demanding marijuana and cash. My friend handed him his cash, which was a negligible amount at the end of the night, said he didn't have any marijuana, but when he took his cash out of the same pocket he had his cell phone in, they demanded the cell phone. So, we had already bought cheap Colombian phones for this exact scenario, so that was no big deal. But my friend was so upset about losing all the contacts he had built up while he was visiting, he asked the thieves if he could, at least keep the SIM card. The thieves obliged and let him take it out then left. LOL.

He told me this the next day and the image of him staring down a pistol at 3 am removing a $0.75 SIM card from his phone had me in tears I was laughing so hard.
