Not precisely on-topic, but everyone should be aware that Puerto Rico is now a remarkable tax haven for US persons. Google "Puerto Rico tax" without the quotes.

Too bad Boricuas are straight fire-breathing cunt dragons who hit the wall early and often -- good sex though, so they're good to fuck if that's all you want.

You only have to live in Puerto Rico 6 months out of the year for residency. All dividends and capital gains are tax free. Corp tax rate is 4%.

If you make 500k a year, you are getting paid 200k (rough tax savings) for living there for 6 months out of the year.

Definitely worth dealing with cunt dragons. hah Too bad we can't import them in from DR or Colombia.

It depends on your personality, too.

I'm a European soul and I feel incredibly out of place in America. It just doesn't resonate with my sense of life. I've made the best of it but as soon you get me into the company of some Russians or Mongolians or Germans and I'm instantly among brothers and sisters. Americans generally just annoy me.

In terms of chicks: I didn't even have any idea that women are different in other parts of the world. It wasn't even in my reality. Feminine women? American girls ARE feminine! ...Aren't they?

Living in Colombia and Thailand has completely altered my views on women, feminism, culture, everything. And THAT is what leaving a country and traveling is all about. It's about seeing some of life through different prisms. God knows Americans could use it.

I know you're right on the financial end, I was actually just talking to a chick about it the other day...

This actually deserves it's own thread.

That voice makes me want to kill it with fire. Is that how they're all going to talk in 15 years?

^^ Fuck that hurt.

I can really relate to this. As soon as Im in the company of Americans, I gotta get the fuck outta there. Bullshit small talk in which no party has anything interesting to say is not my idea of a good time. Add to that the fake smiles, the no-nonsense all-about-business mentality, and the women. Not that Canada is that much better[Image: lol.gif] Good place to make money, though (as has been stated over and over)

But it hasn't always been that way. A few retirees I've met over the years have told me that today's Russia is just like America was in the 50s/60s when they were growing up.

^ DaveR, interesting. I went back to Russia in 2010 (Stavropol, I was born there as well). The Northern Caucaus region, as you probably know, is underdeveloped and poorer compared to Peter or Moscow, but one thing that I loved was the camaraderie and the hospitality that I got there. Hoping to visit again this yr.

Write a trip report/datasheet. This deserves attention.
