This is definitely a "not enough information" thread. If money is not an issue, I would say NYC is a top U.S. city for most purposes. If it's too cold, you can just fly away to Vegas/Bermuda/Random Caribbean Island.

Since money is an issue, though, there's all kinds of questions. Do you like to ski, ride horses, sit on the beach?

The first screen is a city with a big enough local population that I can be reasonably anonymous when I go out and not run out of places to go, a tolerable cost of living, a higher tier airport that can get me almost anywhere I want to go without any crazy connections, and the city should be enough of a destination that I can not only work on locals and a rotation of tourists and conference attendees, but also that having the use of a bachelor pad in the city turns my mattress into a destination for girls from out-of-town.

Once I take taxes and my climate preferences into account, I'd probably be looking at Scottsdale and Las Vegas. Tampa, Charleston, and Austin could also work. Sonoma/Napa and San Diego are stricken for tax reasons.

If you don't need to be in the mainland US, and money is not an issue. I'd say Honolulu.

Amazing quality of life.
Hot asian chics.
Good food culture.

I also heavily disagree with whoever said New Orleans. That's nuts. NOLA is too fucking violent. It's the Chicago of the South. You go there to party, eat, pick up pralines, and GTFO. Nobody with any good sense actually lives there. Everyone lives in the nice suburbs outside or the area where the rich and famous live because the cops guard it tight.

I'm the one that mentioned New Orleans but it was only as a what-if city, not really one of my suggested ones like NYC or Denver. I mentioned it because I thought it could have potential for men like us being a party and cultural city but as mentioned in my post, the living conditions are not really good enough for me to say definitely live there.

I've been to about 24/50 states plus DC but I have really yet to get out to the deep south (Texas, Louisiana, etc.) and the west coast (California, Oregon, Washington, Arizona, Colorado, etc.). I've done mostly the entire east coast and the Midwest. At this point, I just kind of want to give my general impressions of where I've been in the states.

-NYC and Philly are the two major cities I've been to the most. NYC is pricey if done a certain way but does have reasonable cost options as well for daily life. My friend also raves about Brooklyn as well as my parents who grew up there so that might be worth a discussion on its own. Philly is definitely inferior to NYC but if you stay in the good parts, I do believe you can have a good time there. I've been to Boston a couple of times as well but I was underage. Seems like nightlife is decent there and plenty of cool good neighborhoods. Same with Philly. Just gotta know the good areas in both but I think they're too expensive as viable alternatives with NYC right in the middle.

-Baltimore and Detroit are absolute shit holes. Seriously Detroit makes Manila look like a class above what it is and I've been to Detroit twice. Baltimore is honestly just as bad once you get away from the Inner Harbor. Don't drive in the wrong direction there. As for DC, I think it's honestly the best US historical city I've been to for tourism, but I wouldn't want to live there or try to have a social life there.

-A couple of cities I'd really like to make a return visit to are Pittsburgh and St. Louis. St. Louis has decent nightlife and a lot of chill areas to hang out in with unique activities (especially if you're a sports guy). Problem is public transportation is almost non-existent and roads are not the most organized. I can't say much on the girls because I was only there two days. Pittsburgh isn't the cleanest or best looking city, but I was impressed with the nightlife potential and some of the Asian quality living in the suburbs. They just seem pretty laid back compared to the east coast.

-Now after two days in Chicago, I don't think I'd recommend staying there long-term either. The vibe I got from there was that they seem a bit entitled compared to the general laid back attitude of the Midwest. Not to mention the violence here. Reminded me of what I don't like about the east coast but the city itself is worth checking out. Milwaukee I'd say the same. Not much stood out for me to go back there.

-Now Indiana seems to be a state that's pretty quiet and cheap for the guys looking to get out on their own, but quality girls are tough to find here. I'd say the same about Louisville and Kansas City. I enjoyed touring all of these a few days but I'd go mad living in any of these places.

-Here's where I get to an underrated spot for the younger crowd: Ohio. This is the state I've probably frequented the most outside of the east coast and I've met a lot of people from here. The attitudes aren't as bad as the Chicago area or the east coast cities and there is quality to be had but I will make it clear that you probably have to be near a college-town. Luckily, Ohio has plenty of options there. You have Ohio U, Ohio State, Bowling Green (probably my favorite college area I've ever partied in and I've been to at least 10) and Cincy. Ohio doesn't have as much to do as coast states but you can get by with a social circle it seems. It's probably the only state in the Midwest I ever saw myself possibly living in that I've been to.

-Atlanta from my experience seems to fit the stereotypes it gets and Florida you probably have to be in Orlando or Miami to game tourists to get any kind of quality.

People that have been west of Missouri can speak better but I do think there's potential out there. I'm not sure if Texas would be for me to live in but to each their own. Denver would probably be my most anticipated choice to check out and stay longer term. I'd like to see what Vegas is all about too. It seems like Orlando where it's expensive for a tourist but cheap for a local. Hey, Vegas is called the adult Disney World after all [Image: wink.gif]. And to finish it off by talking about the city that started this general review, New Orleans I'm definitely looking to check out in the near future, just a shame the living conditions aren't better.

As far back as I could remember, I always wanted to be a player.

No lie, I actually considered moving to Honolulu back in 2013. I think I would need to try it out first nowadays, but there was alot to moving there and money was not all of it.

On the other hand, I hear the girls who work at the parks are basically drunk, high, and impaled on cock all night, every night.

Trust me, there's plenty of college-mid 20s girls to game in Orlando if you know where to look for them. Disney has a big internship program that gets hundreds of girls from all over the country and world working there, not to mention tourists going to Disney and Universal from all parts of the world. There may not be a big nightlife, but there are areas to drink and flirt if you know what you're doing in vacation spots.

Nashville or Memphis. Atlanta and Denver to a lesser extent. Everywhere else (incl. NYC) just isn't doing it for me. Stupid sprawl in all of these cities though.

Honolulu looks great actually, but of course prices are on par with LA, Boston, NYC, etc.

I'd probably go with Miami/ FLL area, only for the short and very cheap trips to South America on the weekends and the no state income tax. But if Latinas aren't your taste, Boulder is good also, I've never regretted living here and it might be more your style. All the SJW , femminst stuff has never been an issue with me.

Austin, TX.

The economy is booming, the city isn't too big, crime is very low, and you have the cream of the crop, the top 10% or so of all the women in Texas, a state that's bigger than most countries, attending UT Austin. If you walk around UT, you'll notice that the obesity stats for the rest of the U.S. are not applicable there, it's just a higher quality of person that attends that university.

There's a great entrepreneurial culture here without the "I'm working 90 hours a week, commuting an hour or more every day, and living on a couch" thing San Francisco's got going on.

There's great hiking trails, there's great swimming spots, and there's basically no winter, which is worth a lot to me. The cost of living is completely reasonable, and so is traffic. The infrastructure is fantastic as well, with many neighborhoods having access to Google Fiber now.

Another thing is, unlike in New York City, our tables at coffee shops and restaurants are normal sized and you aren't being rushed to leave as soon as you sit down. You also aren't being forced to produce receipts in order to use the restroom, as happens in New York City in some places during busy tourist times.

The air here is relatively clean, too, which is great.

As a single guy, I'd rather be living abroad of course, but if I was already married, Austin's got a lot going for it.

Start with one of these states and go from there as far as cities -

Texas, Florida, Washington, South Dakota, Nevada, Alaska, Wyoming, New Hampshire, Tennessee.

What do they have in common? Yep, no state income tax. This matters a lot, if money is an issue!

I'm surprised no one is saying Las Vegas. New girls coming in every week, literally can go out and party every night of the week. Not to mention its one of the cheaper bigger cities in the US.

You would get bored of it after a month unless you are in the industry. Get away from the strip, its not unlike any random, trashy midwest hellhole.

I like big cities with lots of things to do. No real need for a car, I'd love to be taking public transport/uber everywhere.

Chicago...and it's not even close.

Excellent logistics? Check.
Foot traffic? Check.
Quantity of babes? Check.
Quality of babes? Check.
Nice nature (Lake Michigan, parks, and beaches)? Check.
Affordable? Check.
Tons of sports teams? Check.
Nice architecture? Check.
World class universities (Northwestern and UChicago)? Check.
Down to earth people? Check.
Four seasons? Check.

The truth is most American cities are steaming garbage.

They're typically some permutation of boring, dirty, crime-ridden, ghetto, impoverished, and logistically awful.

The only other US cities I would strongly consider would be:

NYC
Killadelphia
Las Vegas

They all have serious downsides, though. NYC is insanely expensive and over-crowded, Philadelphia is kind of dumpy but I love the logistics, four seasons, and proximity to my family, while Vegas is insanely hot and has virtually no industries outside of hospitality/tourism.

On the weekend I visited Chicago, a homeless man spit on my friend for no reason, someone was raped at one of the subway/train station things that they have, so there were sirens blaring all over as the police searched for the suspect, it was so cold people would stand under these heat lamps, huddled together like fried chicken waiting for someone to come by and devour them, and our eyes and ears were assaulted non-stop by advertising, whether we were on the metro or in a restaurant.

I couldn't get a moment's respite from being advertised to...not even while eating.

They did have really great sushi, though, and I've heard it's fun during summer.

I'm From NJ, so NYC is just what I like. I'm willing to visit another city, but at the end of the day, I am a northeastern American. It's in my blood. When I eventually return to USA I'll probably end up some place similar. Maybe not NYC herself because I like saving money but If money were no object and I had everything optimized I'd be back in NYC so fast.

Sure, I hate the freezing cold, but there's just so much you can do in NYC that I'd brave the cold for it.

Summer in NYC is fucking awesome. Had lots of great times with and without the RVF crew in NYC summer time. No city compares to it for me.

I know all the bad things about NYC, trust me. I pretty much spent every weekend there for months on end, but I just like it too damn much.

Shenzhen is a strong contender in many ways. It's n amazing travel hub into SEA. Cheap. Friendly locals. Amazing internet markets and such. Can buy anything online.

IT does get way too fucking hot though. Like, my balls are sweating and I've been walking around for 5 minutes outside.

OVerall, I'm just gonna go with NYC. That's my favorite city and I don't care.

I will be checking my PMs weekly, so you can catch me there. I will not be posting.

NYC if I had a blank check((though I'd only be in town when I felt like and I would divide my time between some mountainous retreat I'd have and where I'm at right now simply due to all the wonderful people I know here).

Houston where I live now if I didn't. Mainly as I have said earlier due to the wonderful connections I've made thus far. 2-3 years ago I'd leave in a heartbeat for poosy paradise/greener pastures, but once you're seriously heavily invested into an area you grow to love every part of it. At most I've really only considered spending my summers abroad due to the dread heat. All excepting the fact that I do plan to travel heavily.

I always figured I would move to Scottsdale or San Diego.

Will be taking a road trip through Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee, Ohio, and Michigan in the summer... if anyone wants to recommend potential paradises to visit.

Main point of the trip is hiking, hot dogs, and Frank Lloyd Wright architecture.

If you HAD to live in the US, which city would you choose?

Forgot to mention that I lived in Miami Beach (South Beach) for two separate 6 month stints.

Pros:

- Walk to the bach
- Fitness / Health culture
- Great jiu jitsu
- Nice weather, although winter does get kind of cold mostly because of the wind chill
- Really hot chicks

Cons:

- Very superficial city all about how much money you have, who you know, which club you have a VIP table at, and how big your yacht is
- Lack of culture
- Really toursity
- Pretty expensive IF you live right in South Beach
- Rudest airport staff I've ever encountered
- Overrun by wannabe thugs and wanksters
- Lots of competition for girls. You're competing with rich dudes, famous dudes, ridiculously jacked dudes, and Latino dudes that white girls automatically elevate in their minds

That being said...I did OK there. [Image: smile.gif]

But I definitely prefer not working as hard here in Asia ha

I may be a doomer, but I would skip all those Southwest towns that have been in a drought for about a decade, desert cities that will have no water without a functioning infrastructure. New Mexico, Arizona, no. Don't know if the situation is the same in Texas and Nevada, but it is easy to forget the absolute basics, and that no matter what your lifestyle, you have to have water.

Yep, Honolulu may not be a good idea for you then. They have big flying roaches. Nasty fuckers! One time I came home drunk from partying all night, and i saw this giant roach on my kitchen counter. I took out a long wooden spoon and whacked it. Roach guts sprayed in my face. Nasty!

New York from May to November, and San Diego from November to May. NYC is freezing and fucking sucks between Nov-to-April.

If you don't have to commute distance to your job, then LA over San Diego during the spring.

Chicago is fun, but I don't like landlocked states and couldn't put up with 8 months of bonechilling winter.

Portland is too rainy and gray and SJW-y.

Las Vegas/New Orleans awesome to visit but super sucks to live there.

DC maybe, the girls for some reason there love me, but still sucky winters

Dallas is ok but wears on you after a while.

Never been to Florida but I think I'd like Miami.

Charleston SC is awesome, but didn't spend enough time there to recommend living there.
