Using US novelty police badge for foreign clubs

Here's a question. Why are they not letting you in that you would have to do this?

It's a good way to:

invite a beat down when the men at the door decide that they don't take kindly to an attempt to intimidate them with a fake foreign badge,

get thrown in jail when you run afoul of a legal code that prohibits such fraud,

assure that you get no sympathy from the American embassy.

A press pass works pretty well. I have a real ID that is effectively a press pass (in the UK), only used it a few times but it works

Why would I want to do anything else? Pussy and cash baby, pussy and cash.

There's no way you can be a real person... have you even been to a foreign country before?

Police for example in Colombia make peanuts. Showing a badge won't help at all/impress.

Just grease the bouncer etc, if you need to skip the line.

It's not just about the badge. You're not going to carry yourself as a cop just because you buy a shield shaped pin on eBay.

Just wait until you get detained by the local cops who will call the US embassy, who will check with the PD on the badge.

Impersonating an officer doesn't stop when you leave the us. Plus, the local cops will wonder why an NYPD officer is doing in Paris with no proper paperwork.

LOL- stupid idea. Even a real badge from another country isn't going to help you in a foreign country to get into a club. Having a shield ( we don't call them badges) will only work in your own jurisdiction or in a place that caters to law enforcement. Having an NYPD shield for example is/was useful in certain places right after Sept 11 , when the world supported them.

That being said, having a real law enforcement credential can, and usually will help with the law in another country .I have had Ukrainian police go out of their way to help me, and have got out of trouble before. Cops generally don't mess with other cops so when they come to fleece foreigners and I show them my credential they will usually smile and tell me have a nice day....and then go fleece the other tourist.

I assume a tactic i could use, if I was gaming, is meet up with local cops i nthe country i am at( many are females too) and get into the clubs with them!

Why does a cop from USA need paperwork to be in France? We have no police powers there REGARDLESS,since it is a foreign country.

That being said, the NYPD actually has an office in Paris , as well as Interpol. We have 2 offices in Israel, 1 in Toronto, 1 Scotland yard, and another half dozen around the world.

Since Sept 11, when we learned the FEDS can't be trusted , we took over work that was traditionally FBI/CIA territory. But our officers are guests with NO police powers in those countries.

Yeah, some people for some reason have some kind of compulsion to impersonate police for some reason. Nothing good can come out of it.

I was police for a long time. Even the police aren't that douchebaggish. If you have to brag about what you are, then you aren't very good at what you do. If you're the police guy that flashes a badge to get into places, then you're a fucking douche. And the bar knows it.

And if you're flashing a fake fucking badge, how much of a douchebag are you? The penultimate fucking douche. You're not even good enough to be a police, yet you buy a fake badge to tell everyone you're the police? How fucking sad.

I'd only read the book previously, decided to check out some videos after your post. These mfrs were flying through the SW USA (video from 2003 so shit quality)

OP, a question. Which actor would you want to be playing you on a future episode of "Locked up abroad?" If you say Antonio Sabato Jr., we're having real problems.
