Is there really a reason for all this race trolling from SJWs? They should be happy that kid isn't chunks of meat at a closed-casket funeral. Instead, dudes are turning this into a white vs. black thing? Give me a break.

The reaction to the death of the gorilla is very comparable to the ridiculous outrage that occurred last year when Cecil the Lion was killed.

And to make it even more ridiculous they reported as worldwide BREAKING NEWS that Cecil's "brother" Jericho was also killed a few days later.

No mention of Megan the antelope, though.

I think you're onto something but let's take this a step further...

Between:

  1. SJW's framing this as a "White Supremacy" issue(before hearing the kid was Black, they've been reticent since).
  2. Alt-Right people making snarky comments re: the gorilla "dindu-nuffin"
  3. White nationalist expressing sympathy until hearing the kid was Black(google "harambe storefront"). Then the consensus is the gorilla should've been spared at the expense of the kid.
  4. Keyboard jockeys on facebook calling for the parents to be charged,
It's seems that no one gives a shit about the kid or the gorilla. And it's not just the SJW's...nearly everyone is using this incident to confirm their biases and prove that their ideological bent is "correct". That's why I don't identify as a liberal, conservative, red pill, whatever...anyone who needs an ideology to interpret and frame events and the world for them 100% of time with no room for nuance or extenuating circumstances is intellectually lazy to me and isn't someone I'd freely associate with.

@Goldinboy, I liked your post and agree with everything except this;

That's why I don't identify as a liberal, conservative, red pill, whatever...anyone who needs an ideology to interpret and frame events and the world for them 100% of time with no room for nuance or extenuating circumstances is intellectually lazy to me and isn't someone I'd freely associate with."

I think that's the part Phoenix lost you at as well. Being Red pill is accepting reality as it is, and not requiring any type of goggles to view life.

Edit: Phoenix replied, but I disagreed with you there and there only.

I have three children, and I do blame the mother. I took my children to the zoo and aquarium a number of times when they were toddlers. At times they tried to do something silly, but I always was watching and caught them, for example:

Once we went to an aquarium that had a huge tank with whale sharks and manta rays. We signed up for "behind the scenes" tour where they took us into the facility that maintains the tank and feeds the animals. We were standing on a catwalk above the tank, with the huge fish swimming around beneath us. I was holding my two-year old daughter tight. Suddenly, she gets this mischievous look on her face and tries to hurl her blanket into the water. I knew she was about to do something, so I was watching and caught the blanket in mid-air. If the blanket had hit the water and been swallowed by one of the whale sharks and killed it, I fully would have expected the aquarium to bill us for the damages.

When your children are in that situation and indicate that they may do something rash, you double-down on your watchfulness. If your kid does end up screwing something up due to your inattention, you should expect to be billed. The zoo should be billing that mom for the cost of a new gorilla.

As a proud member of category number 2 above, I can tell you that my objective was not to "confirm bias". I was trying to have some fun and generate a few laughs. The irony of the similarity of the joke to what Obola and all the BLM crowd did with the Trayvon Martin case (and other similar cases) is inescapable and if you don't find that funny well, you need ta git outta here.

If you think the death of a gorilla is so grave an event that we should all hang our heads in grief and shame each other for making jokes about it, then you are buying into the "Year Zero" nihilism that LOZ so eloquently describes. Look man, this situation had a HAPPY ENDING. The kid is safe, and the crisis response team did an outstanding job of fulfilling their duty. That sniper deserves a raise and a commendation. Yes it's a sad end to the animal's life and the loss of the gorilla is certainly a huge financial loss to the zoo, but that animal's ENTIRE LIFE was sad and zoo's are cruel and unusual punishment to a big animal like that to begin with.

I once read a book called "Bravo Two Zero" (https://www.amazon.ca/Bravo-Two-Zero-Har...0440218802) about a British special forces commando captured in Iraq in 1991 on a mission to take out SCUD missiles. He wrote that after his release and return to Britain, he could no longer go to zoo's, because the treatment of the animals disturbed him. If you really have a problem with how this gorilla's life ended, you should have MORE of a problem with how his life was going in a cruel prison.

As a dad, I completely empathize with what you are saying C-Note, but there are two important factors here. You are a man and you are clearly K-selected. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/R/K_selection_theory)

The mother here was a woman who, I assume, does not enjoy the benefit of a man's presence in her parenting operations. And she's clearly r-selected. If she were K-selected, she would have jumped in after the kid. As it were, her r-selected brain just figured, "Fuck it, I can always have more kids." Those two factors have an impact such that she does not have the security awareness and assessment skills that you have as a clearly excellent father. She is not your equal as a parent is what I'm saying. As such, she cannot be expected to parent as well as you do, and shit happens, as they say. Shit happened here and the little guy got in the gorilla pen and the park sniper saved his life. LOZ is right... the reaction people are having over this event is a clear indicator at how far the cancer of Year Zero nihilism has metastasized. This story had a happy ending. The people that don't see that fact need Jesus.

Do you know the amount of bandwidth it would free up if everyone on the internet agreed to stop doing this immediately?

You could download your own gorilla.

The real downfall are the measures that will be taken to make sure this doesn't ever happen again. Sure, that's expected on a zoo-local level, but the drawback of the internet now is how this 1/ a billion chance thing occurring will impact zoos everywhere.

One bad apple spoils the bunch...the bunch has become the world...or at least the U.S.

It's why the Founders set us up as States, with state laws and extremely limited Federal control. They knew the potential problems that one big huge democracy would cause.

Sure, no actual federal laws or policies will probably come from this zoo story, but that premise can be used to discuss almost any issue.

Witnesses are saying that the mom was playing on her cellphone and paying no attention to the kid who kept saying he was going to climb into the enclosure.

Also, the father is a criminal who is locked up apparently. Can't blame the kid for being proactive and looking for a new daddy. [Image: lol.gif]

Simplest interpretation concerning this entire ordeal:

The shooter symbolizes the State, the gorilla represents fatherhood, the anger toward the mother is actually anger people (especially progressives) feel toward all mothers for allowing the State to destroy fatherhood.

There was a traveling circus that came to Hawaii a long time ago and one of the elephants went crazy. I was thinking of it when I first read this thread.

It stomped on a few people, then ran onto the street, trashed some shit, And the cops just opened fire on the thing.

I can't believe it, but the video of this is on YouTube.

Check out the Hawaiian cowboy in the green shirt that came out of nowhere withe old west style rifle!

And you hear the lady yelling "die fucking animal" I bet she's the owner of the electric blue iroc-z the elephant is fucking up.

Mahalo to whoever started this thread for reminding me of that.

Please watch the video.

Aloha!

The comments on that video are typical PETA bullshit "Oh poor animal, I wish She'd killed more people! RIP Tyke!"

Fucking scum.

In order of rational importance:
1) No way in fucking hell should a gorilla cage be breachable by any human of any age at a zoo, indoors or outdoors. Shame on the dumbfucks who designed, or managed operations of the primates at Cincy Zoo.
2) The mom's solipsism, yes, her own interest, likely in social media responses to her celly took precedence over her fuckin kid. If I've said it before,

I'll say it again. Gents, you really think ANY of these modernized Americunts give 2 fucks about their kids over themselves you're still completely blue pill. Done.

"Oh a mother's love for her kids supersedes all!" < My rotten ass it does. As stated above by Lucky, the symbolism here is astounding.

I don't think they should have killed the Gorilla.

Think about it. An invader suddenly enters Harambe's territory accompanied by hysterical screams from the crowd above further confusing him. He is responsible for protecting the tribe. He could have easily killed the kid in two seconds and eliminated the threat. Instead, he shows real restraint and at times even appears to be protective of the stranger. This shows that unlike humans, a wild gorilla is slow to kill without cause. In fact, he showed no aggression towards the child, but the humans killed him for what he "might" do, not what he actually did. The human, employed by a bureaucracy and enslaved by its mindset, responded with rules and procedures, whereas the animal was being led by his intuition.

Maybe this is why humans are quicker to kill than animals.
