Anyone found a good photographer a long these lines in NYC?

Unfortunately I don't really have the funds to shell out for a professional photographer - that might change in a few months, but for now I need to make due with what I have. I've been delaying with the online game for too long. My photos aren't really professional but I think they're pretty good, with a number I can use - a nice sophisticated looking head shot for a default photo, pictures of me in cool places, pictures of me with other hot girls, etc.

The only thing I'm lacking that I know I should absolutely use is one to show off my abs. I'm not terribly massive but my muscularity is decently well-defined and I have abs which we all know you should show off. I'm just wondering how I can do this in a good way without hiring a pro for now.

Any tips?

For me results have spiked on OKC, Tinder, Plenty of Shrimp, and now I'm messing around with Badoo. For OKC its been an increase in receptiveness. The girls Check my messages, read my profile, and respond. I think the only thing that keeps them from coming out is my answers to the dating questions.

For Tinder I've had a decent increase in Matches. Quality and quantity. If I get any bots or orgres its an instant unmatch for me. I've matches with a chick who's into BDSM, a HB 7 blonde from RI, some Latina that wants to pipeline me for a Bachelorette party next month, as well as a few sixes.

With Badoo, I just tested out my new pics last night on the site and so far have received a response from a HB 8 Asian chick that I'd like to bang. She didn't get the witty opener so I pretty much had to break it down for her.

With Pof there has been an increase in receptiveness, but the quality of the girls on the site isn't to my liking. I reopened a HB 6.5 brunette with a nice ass. She was quite receptive and open to when I told her our last interaction went cold. I pretty much went direct in admitting attraction and wanting to restart.

So far so good. I may take new ones in a month or two, but I've definitely notice a big difference from before. Credit to my photographers @262 and @cubicZ.

I de-activated my Tinder after reading this and I'm not activating it again until I get some solid photos.

I barely get any matches in this shit-city. No wonder.

Libertas, make the abs 'incidental'. Best way is being at the beach and your friends take the pictures while you're playing beach sports etc. Bonus points if a pet is also in the picture.

One thing to be aware of when testing new photos. Tinder give you a huge boost if your reactivate your account after few weeks. For me this boost has always been bigger than any change I made in my photos. Also if you have an old account that you once used for mass liking than you should definitely delete for a couple of weeks before using your new photos.

Great stuff, everyone. I will experiment with taking some photos of myself for these purposes. I'm something of an amateur photographer with a DSLR, multiple lenses, and design abilities. But I am skeptical on looking narcissistic. I realize our culture of selfies and personal indulgence might make the path more clear for this, but it's something I am going to have to play around with.

Again, I must realize that I am after notches (in my personal mission) and this might be a boon in doing so. Not whether the typical me would do this or not...which results in a lack of game and notches.

Question...once you have the professional photos in hand, and you set up your online profile, do you mix and match these photos with any "regular" photos, say from your travels etc? Or do you simply stack the lineup with the professional shots you have?

Based on my early results, I've found that you need to mix them up with other photo themes that girls like, and which you probably didn't get shot professionally. Photos like:

1) You hanging out with your friends - so it's clear you're not a loner
2) You enjoying one of your high-value hobbies, such as skiing
3) You with an animal
4) You in a cool travel location
5) Any combination of the above

I can't think of any more, but search the forum if you want a more exhaustive list.

Sure not everyone has athletic bodies or great looks, but these examples really highlight how great photographers can capture context or weave a story around a picture that suddenly creates an aura of intrigue and elevates you above other cookie cutter profiles, like BlurredSevens mentioned in the OP.

P.S. Not sure if all of these athletes are over 18, so might be a better idea to refrain from the WB/WNB comments

No homo, but if you have the build of the baseball player or the black football player, you could have similar shots taken. The photos look legit, like they took off their shirts because it was hot. They're also a great way to kill two birds with one stone: cool hobby + muscles.

This was a really good thread! I got myself a pro photographer for 130€ (Spain being Spain everything is cheap). Before getting new photos I was lucky to get one tinder match a week and nothing was happn'n on happn. After getting pro photos I'm getting about 10 matches/day!

Now all I have to do is to get some good openers and some tips on how to game Tinder sluts.

If Online dating is your thing, invest time / money in getting professional pictures.

If you don't want to spend too much, you can find amateur photographer on kijiji/craigslist.

And if you're cheap, it's easy to find free picture editor online, and will help you a lot.

I got my pictures done, put them up on Tinder, and got 3 matches in the first hour. But then the next day I couldn't get any matches. I'm pretty sure its a Tinder problem, as I've read a lot of noise that with Tinder Plus out now, the free Tinder only allows so many likes per day before you don't get any matches until a 12 hour period passes. Kind of disappointing. Going to try Match as I've heard some good things about it
