Attracting Girls Online: A Guide to Good Photos, Why They Matter, and How To Get Them

Years ago someone took a picture of me from the side laughing in a room tagged with grafitti and a burger king cup in my hand, fitted hat, and wife beater showing off sleeves .....They used an I phone and made it black and white while keeping my dark hat in color.....That picture got me at least 20 girls and I would kill to find it again.....hell I might try to recreate it again

So I've heard you look away from the camera even for a portrait with chicks.

So do you look at the camera or away?

Can you elaborate? Is this with the intent of a creating a DHV pic? If it's just a standard social group pic, doesn't matter.

I honestly don't think that is the right question. If people are posing for a photo, it often looks awkward and unnatural is they hold that pose while staring directly into the camera waiting for the photo to be snapped.

Instead, try to keep the conversation going either with whoever is taking the photo or with anther friend. If no one else is around, think about taking off a young girls(18 or 19) panties and they are wet and she is completely shaved, and you are trying to decide whether go down on her or finger her to get her warmed up, or whether you are just going to throw her down and start pounding away.

That is the killer instinct you want in your photos. Primal, natural and authentic. You don't get that if you are thinking about trying to smile and hold a static pose for a photo op, whether you are looking into the camera lens or not. Just my 2 cents.

When I had an OKC, I literally had one picture and it was of me looking away from the camera. It wonders for me. Sloots kept trying to guess/ask for my ethnic mix.

Bitches were wet

Disclaimer: I'm obviously exaggerating as no bitch (Women whose nationality is American) had her vagina moist from looking at my photo nor was any bitch wet when we met up.

Bitches also became wet when we met and they realized I have hazel eyes

*again, please read the disclaimer.

I think this is maybe overthinking it a little bit.

If I'm not mistaken, that report about "looking away from the camera" being beneficial came from OkCupid. If you recall, OKC was also the company that told us proprietary algorithms based on personality were the best way to find dates on the internet. Clearly, as Tinder has shown, they were catastrophically wrong about that theory, so I'd take their reports with a grain of salt.

Another way to look at it: For every picture of a guy looking away from the camera, I can find you a picture of a guy looking AT the camera that blows them away.

There is definitely some psychology to subconsciously looking attractive in photos, but I'd wager more of it comes from you, your personality, your look, the photographer, the location, the style of the image, etc., than it does from whether or not you're looking at the camera.

Play with different photos though and see what works the best for you. Better yet, ask girls you meet up with which of your photos she likes the best. You'll probably be able to reverse engineer her answers and figure out your personal best look.

This is a good post.

Don't get caught up in the whole "I must look away from the camera" thing...remember where that came from - some big data analysis on okcupid, which showed something like: a collection of pictures of guys looking away from the camera did better than a collection (of the same size) of pictures of guys looking at the camera. OK that's quite interesting, but it doesn't imply: "you should look away from the camera for better results". It's just a crude aggregate result of all possible pictures that guys have tried. A subset of these pictures might in fact reveal the opposite trend, e.g. amongst cool-looking editorial/fashion type shots, looking at the camera could actually be better than away from the camera. Or amongst guys who have beards, or are good looking, or whatever.

Now I'm not saying this is necessarily the case, just a reminder to not treat that whole look-away-from-the-camera as dogma. In your particular case, and with the type of picture you are using, or with the type of girls you prefer, it may well be that you would fall into the (overall less-common) category in which looking at the camera actually did better than looking away.

Attracting Girls Online: A Guide to Good Photos, Why They Matter, and How To Get Them

This is the best thread about online I've seen. It's 100 percent looks absolutely agree

Cajun and most online dating gurus subscribe to the look away approach. It makes sense to me, more mysterious, looks less of a staged photo and more natural. .......if I'm not mistaken the OP in the example just used as many pictures of looking away as well and the idea of hiring a fashion photographer differentiates itself from a regular portrait photographer by having some type of look where they are not looking into the camera.

It's interesting though, because my own samples of playing around, I have not found that looking into the camera works better than not staring. Of course, I have not noticed distinct differences in results with any of my pictures after playing around with them.

I am just not sure How much photo's come into play, we need to ask are we just deluding ourselves here ?.........a hot guy is going to look hot in any photo.....a bathroom selfie even. With shirt on no abs, bath towel toilet paper in background etc. And he will get replies. I have tested this with a bathroom selfie, horrible pic. Hot guy dominated. It's like with what you write, you can break every cardinal rule with pictures and still get replies.

And an unattractive guy is going to look unattractive in any photo. Yea, the pose might make the face look more interesting, more mystique, but his face is still ugly.

Of course, it could just photo diffferentiation only becomes a a factor if a guy meets a certain hotness threshold.....example on a scale of 10.....if your a 6 or below nothing you do with pictures and amount of money you spend on photographers will help where if you are a 7 and up and start to play with photos you will see different results.

.One thing I have heard is less is always better. You could have 6 great photos but the 7th one could have long sideburns and that alone will disqualify you. It's better to have 3-4 top notch bulletproof photos than 6 that appear good.

2) It seems a lot of these pics are black and white. I've personally shied away from that out of concern about appearing too try-hard, but now I'm thinking about applying the filter to some existing photos to gauge the results. Anybody have success with this?

B/W is definitely superior as a main photo if done correctly which can be very difficult. It draws more attention and gives a sense of imagination whereas color is more reality and what you're trying to achieve is akin to what a really good teaser trailer does for a movie. This goes back to advice in the Tinder thread about framing your photos(I think Foolsgo1d posted it).

Most people have no idea what they are doing with B/W. Even a lot of paid photographers. I've seen countless examples of terrible B/W wedding photos where it was obvious the photographer just threw on some lame B/W filter.

These are polar opposites of Black and White photography.

Bad example of a BW photo. Lame shot with lame BW filter. Guy looks like hes trying to take a dump while posing.

Good example of a BW photo. Great shot on film.

I just want to say after this last post.

Ok look at kid #1. Wtf is with the greasy gelled hair look from 1997? That was dead in '99 I still see it around.

James Dean look with the same puffed up hair is timeless though because his hair looks dry and natural and not like an artificial glue-headed douchebag.

Samseau posted forever ago and Roosh recently YouTube'd about they don't use shampoo or conditioner.. lets your hair be malleable for some types just naturally. I tried this my hair and skin is just too greasy so one alternative is to use a small bit of coconut oil in your hair after you get out of the shower.

And here is a perfect example of how looking away from the camera looks can very often look better than looking directly at the camera.

I also like there is a background in the distance that is blurred out and brings contrast to Dean's sharp image.

The cigarette looks cool too, I wonder if in 2015 if that would help or hinder on Tinder.

.

Wanted to ask you this, Is it better to have a male professional photographer or female? Is one better than the other for the ultimate goal of taking these pictures?

For example, I actually plan on using this method for online dating, AND for Musician artist photos for what I'm planning on doing in the next year or so. Does the gender of photographer matter for the type of photos I need for each medium?

Like, Would a woman know what shots to take of me to help me attract women more? Or even a certain type of woman? etc. . .? Would that same woman be just as good or better at a Musician picture to help me get more fans/followers etc?

Or would a Man have better knowledge and/or emotional stability/absence of feminist thought to get the job done better?

Or does it even matter?

So have any of you guys went and got professional pictures taken? Has it affected your results? I think this thread is awesome but it'd be really great to see if anyone got some real results.

100% does NOT matter. Anyone who tells you differently is full of shit.

When it comes to photography, you either have it or you don't. It's like music. You either have a singing voice or you don't. There is very little gray area.

Gender or other demographics do not play a role.

All that said, you might find yourself more comfortable posing in front of a male or a female photographer, but that comes down to your own personality. Sort of how some people prefer their doctor to be a specific gender, but it's usually not because of a perceived skill level.

edit: long story short, both men and women are capable of taking the types of photos that you're seeking

Pretty sure the OP tried it and got results. . .which is why he posted this. You should probably try it yourself instead of waiting for others to do it. You're a man right? A man gets things done. A man is constantly moving, trying new things, learning new things. A man doesn't wait for someone to "try it out" especially if given a guide to being successful in some form. A man just does it, learns form it, tweaks it to his liking. A man BUILDS, and CREATES, including his lifestyle. If you can't even do this, no amount of great pictures is going to help you, as the Woman who you hook can smell the Simp on you from a mile away.

This is why game is important, it helps you build your character as per the above, hell that IS game, building yourself up through building your own life and the confidence that radiates from that. Going this route is just one part of doing that. If you can't do that, then you have to seriously work on your own game.

Good Luck.

This is great stuff. It's why I signed up on here after getting bored with the trolls and the women posting as men on other forums (although they probably exist here too).

I've had difficulties with photos not looking too try hard, while I have gotten many dates from OKCupid I feel I can do better with the quality of girls from there. A friend who did have professional photos is doing wonders on Tinder getting bangs from there like no tomorrow.

I would add that Gumtree for the UK seems to have some good freelance photographers for 100-250 pounds which have shot for Calvin Klein and various magazines.
