My jailing was a hoax

I got much respect for you, Fisto. You're a good man who cares about his friends. Even if this whole op was one big mole hunt.

You showed yourself to be a standup guy.

+1

Nothing like a time of crisis (even fake ones) to show a man's true character.

I'm glad I didn't get involved and just waited to see how it played out. While there were holes in the story that made it implausible, it seemed too weird not to be believed. You add a gypsy weirdo like Andre/Paul to the mix and practically anything could have gone down.

That being said, I've visited the DDR museum twice and have some pictures of me doing fingertip pushups in that tiny little jail cell.

Fisto and all: My intention was not to put you guys on an emotional roller coaster. This is why we kept the prank relatively short (5 hours from start to finish), but it worked a little too well. I'm not a prankster so I did not fully understand its power.

I did a bad job of trolling and trying to play along once tuth told me to keep my mouth shut.

I put 2 and 2 together quick.

Roosh just went to berlin.
I posted in the thread about stuff to visit in berlin.
His berlin sheet had an obvious picture in it of the museum.
Ive been to prison tours in germany before along with prague and budapest

Stasi prison museum
Its actually a pretty popular attraction

the door was a pretty obvious give away for me

*sorry to Tuth for almost fucking it up in the beginning.

Either way..I thought the prank was pretty hilarious.

It was okay. It would have been better if the consequences were more benign. I was considering (and nearly did) contacting people that I know in Poland to help.

So we need a thread about critical thinking. Maybe I will join the 52 books challenge to boost my brain. Guys who found that it was fake should get some addtional 100 rep points or something else so we can see they are the brainiacs of the forum.

I am a huge proponent of critical thinking but it only gets you so far. In real life people have to make decisions, usually without knowing all the facts, and instead rely on gut instincts which are often based on trust.

A serious, potentially urgent situation like this would be one of those times where a decision would have to be made quickly. You really cannot fault a guy like Fisto for behaving like he did.

I saw your post and then when I refreshed the page it was gone so I re-posted that link, but Tuth pm'd me that it was a prank and deleted my post. Good stuff.

That's a well done prank, congratulations to Tuthmosis and Roosh. I can't believe how fast our enemies got fooled, which shows they monitor this forum very very closely.

In defense of the forum members though, this prank started out quite like the Vincent Vinturi incident, which was in my opinion more improbable but turned out to be serious. So when this jail story came up they were ready to believe anything [Image: lol.gif]

Orson Welles in 1938 never believed that people would take seriously his report of a Martian invasion of New Jersey.

But they did. And things quickly got out of control.

You don't joke about death, imprisonment, or pregnancy. Especially to your friends.

Just my opinion.

Strong hypocrisy coming from two guys who have written many articles criticizing false rape accusations, false domestic violence charges and such.
What was the point of all this attention whoring?

Guys offered connections, money and elmech even said he could fly there if needed. I think all those guys deserve an apology.

As a community who values morals so much one would think some of its leaders wouldn't be joking around with this kind of stuff.

Ha, I initially read the thread at O'Hare this morning and my gullible ass moved miles from my credit card rewards to United's Mileage Plus in case a quick ticket was needed.

Got me good!

"Okay (and I'm laughing now, because this is so funny), so we're A) not supposed to give you flowers, B) pay you compliments, or C) look at you. Anything else? Because I'm struggling to figure out the reason why after hearing that, I'm feeling like I'd rather get fucked in the ass by a Cape Buffalo than ever have to sit through dinner with you. Maybe you can figure it out for me. When you do, let me know. I'll be at Natasha's house."

glad you flushed out your enemies!

wasted 30 minutes messaging lawyers, state dept people

smart to do this on a sunday, more plausible

well played

still, it did tug at some of us global players' deepest fears

honestly, I thought the "new rules" were designed to raise funds for roosh, and the ban on using those particular images was a way to do what the online banks do, like show you a pic or avatar so you know that bankofamerica.com is legit, not a scam from nigeria

I gotta say I 100% believed this until Tuth posted the new rules (and even then didn't totally disbelieve it). The backstory was very believable and the photo is convincing at least as someone who doesn't know what to expect a Polish jail to look like.

Yeah I also saw your post. Got pm'd too. He must have done a lot of copy and paste. Since it was in the context of a prank I called Roosh a misogynistic cunt but haven't been deleted or banned and no one picked up on that.

My jailing was a hoax

My thoughts on the stunt:

When Roosh approached me privately with his golden picture, I jumped all over the idea. I was game. I even used this video to express my enthusiasm.

The reactions to the prank were both expected and surprised me. Like Roosh, I expected most people to suspect it was fake, and certainly as soon as I announced my ridiculous rules. The goal was to create a low-level doubt, not a conflagration. I guess the prospect of Roosh being jailed at one point or another is entirely too realistic. If it ever happens--and I'm the one to break the news--I hope you'll actually believe me.

Credit goes to the membership in a lot of respects.

1. Guys' willingness to extend help to Roosh and to me was both heartening and surprising. This proves we really have become a community, even in times of need. The fact that guys didn't just respond with just a bunch of smilies, but with real offers of assistance, shows a real level of brotherhood that should encourage all of us.

2. Many guys are hard to fool. You're a bunch of smart motherfuckers. I had to privately message several guys who quickly saw through the prank and were screaming foul before it could get even a little bit of traction. This bodes well for real crises and trolls.

3. Trying to fuck up the forum reminded me realize how good it is. I was thinking of shitty rules to institute and all it took was messing with a very delicate balance of laissez-fair practice and strict moderating.

4. You don't need to worry. If some scenario like this ever really materialized--which I doubt--you can trust me to keep the ship steady to the degree that my position allows me.

Like Roosh, I hope I didn't upset too many guys--or too permanently erode my credibility--with my complicity in this brief prank. Given the brutal winters--with their attendant dry spells and cabin fevers--many of you are experiencing, I figured a little forum drama and lulz would be welcome.

The fact that it also trolled many of this community's biggest enemies and haters (i.e., manboobz) is certainly an additional positive.

"Trust is good, but control is better." (Vladimir Lenin). Try not to come in a position where you have to trust someone. But some want to risk it to gain more from it.

This wasn´t a hard case. I at least think I should have been quicker but wasn´t. Well, there is some work to be done....I have to read more criminal books or something. It was a good teaching.
