Friday - Last Night in Jakarta

I wake up late after going to sleep about 5am, spend most of the afternoon packing and just chilling, then head to Grand Indo in the evening. My regular girl should be free after 9pm but hasn't confirmed yet. I walk around Grand Indo a little, then head to Skye. I text my buddy and a Chinese girl, one of the more attractive girls from the pipeline who I wanted to meet but haven't met yet. I ask both of them to join me at Skye and order a Singapore Sling as I'm waiting. Skye, a rooftop bar right next to Grand Indo, is one of my favorite places in Jakarta. Great view, great ambiance, higher class crowd, cool DJs, friendly staff. On weekend nights, the crowd gets bigger so it's possible to pull from there or at least do some warm up approaches before clubbing, though I haven't tried that myself.

My buddy arrives first, then the Chinese girl shows up around 9-30. I've already had 3 cocktails by the time she arrives and tipped the bartender well, so when I order a drink for the girl the bartender is super friendly. The girl turns out to be not as attractive in real life as her profile pictures suggest. Her ears stick out and make her face look kind of odd. She's still bangable and would be ok as a back up option if the regular girls flakes.

My buddy and I chat with the girl, but I keep texting and trying to call the regular girl who finally replies and agrees to come to my place (she ran out of credit on her phone before). Before I leave Skye, I tell the Chinese girl and my buddy that "the girl I'm close with is coming to my place in 20 minutes so I have to leave, but you guys have fun".

I thought my buddy would invite the Chinese girl to his place, but it turned out that he didn't. He has been in JKT for awhile so his taste in women is more discriminating than mine. Before that night, the Chinese girl played hard to get: previously declined to come straight to my place, wrote that she "hates players" and "doesn't do one night stands". So, now it turns out that two players - my buddy and I - don't even want to try and get a one night stand with her. That's Jakarta for girls: a tough place with too much competition.

The rest of the night is quiet and peaceful: I come back to my place and meet the regular girl, smoke a couple of cigarettes with her on the balcony, then bang and go to sleep. I wake up in the morning, finish packing, say good bye to the girl and take a taxi to the airport. We might see each other again in the future.

Saturday Night - Stopover in Hong Kong

I arrive in HK around 9pm and check in to the Sheraton Kowloon around 10. I want to go out but have no idea where to go. The concierge recommends an area called Lan Kwai Fong on the Hong Kong Island. Being in Kowloon, I am a bridge and tunnel guy relative to this area, but it's just about 20 minutes by taxi. I grab a bite, get a drink at the hotel bar, and take a taxi.

I immediately like the vibe in Lan Kwai Fong: a few little streets closed for traffic and full of bars and clubs. An international crowd of party people drinking and dancing in the streets, bouncing from one bar to another and having fun. Lots of hot girls, but also many guys who dress well (quite a few suited up) and have game.

I get a vodka soda at the Hard Rock Cafe and then bounce to a lounge/club across the street. It's around midnight, so there are already many people dancing inside. I stand next to a mixed group of a few girls and a couple of guys, get another drink and start talking to one of the girls. She seems friendly, but the group bounces somewhere else later and nobody invites me to join. I get a couple of more drinks and tip the waitress well, so later on she gives me another one on the house. I am buzzed, so I start walking around and approaching more girls. The place is not really a sausage fest, but there more white girls that I'd like to see. It's not like I have yellow fever, but here in HK I can do without another white 6 with the attitude of a 9.

I have approached a few girls without much success and then noticed a pair of dark eyes staring at me. Some Asian girls have this look as they stare at you as if they're trying to pierce you with their eyes. She is cute young girl, a little shorter than me. I walk up to her, introduce myself. She is with a group of friends so I talk to a couple of them too.

I buy her a drink and start escalating: dancing, touching, going for the kiss within a few minutes. She responds well, her lips taste very nice. I want to take her to my place but need to go to the restroom after having a few drinks so I tell her I'll be right back. The club is very crowded. I can't find you at the same place after I return. I start looking for her and finally see her and a tall-ish blond guy trying to approach her. As a Russian who has had a few drinks of vodka, IDGAF about the blond guy, basically don't notice him, walk right up to the girl and immediately go for the kiss. She's excited. I offer to go to my place. She agrees right away and we bounce.

After waiting a few minutes in a taxi queue, we take a taxi to the Sheraton. Her friends keep calling her to find out where she is and possibly cockblock, so I keep kissing her basically the entire way to the hotel. We take the elevator to my room and keep kissing, then get down to business pretty much right after we enter. She looks 20ish and has a cute face. I thought she was a kind of chubby because the clothes were not form fitting, but actually she has a flat stomach and just a few extra pounds, all at the right places. She is super DTF and seems to want it more than I do.

My condoms are in the suitcase which is checked in all the way to the final destination, so I hit it raw. Her friends keep trying to reach her, already calling less frequently, but I don't care. I've been in Jakarta for almost 2 days now. Here are my initial impressions of the place:

The city is absolutely massive. There are tall buildings everywhere (I've only been in Central and Southern Jakarta though.. I have yet to explore other parts of the city), and there is no public transportation. It's not a very pedestrian friendly city, as things are too spread out and the sidewalks are fucked up. Also, there is absolutely nothing to do during the day time. I walked around Plaza Indonesia and Grand Indonesia on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon (earlier today) and it was a bit depressing. Perhaps I'm going to the wrong places, but I think I'm missing the day game action.

On Tuesday night I went to X2. It was absolutely dead, except for 1 cute light skinned girl. She was friendly. I got her number, texted her today, and when I brought up the idea of hanging out she ignored me. So instead I went out with this girl from OKcupid who has been messaging me a lot. She turned out to be a 5/10 in person. I wasn't interested at all, but for some reason I took her back to my hotel room (I'm on a mission to get my Indonesian flag). To make a long story short, she was on her period, so I had her blow me. She stopped halfway, and then I went extremely soft. I went so flaccid that it was funny. She tried to get my hard again but failed. She kept implying that she wanted me to fuck her in the ass (as she was on her period), but I just wasn't very inspired to do it. 5 minutes later she left, and I was pretty happy. Moral of the story is that hanging out with girls your not into is a waste of time.

I went to Dragonfly later in the night. There were some hot girls. I got some serious attitudes.. like the type of shit you get in the states. I met an 18 year old girl who had pimples on her tits and seemed half retarded. I didn't have much luck in the place, and eventually I had to leave because my eyes were burning from the smoke. I met the manager of the place. He told me a bunch of jokes that I couldn't understand, and told me that I should try magic mushrooms in Bali. He introduced me to this fat landmass who works at another club. The landmass invited me to hang out tomorrow night and go to some clubs, so I'll probably take her up and that and hopefully she can introduce me to some people.

My initial impressions of Jakarta are rather negative. Perhaps I'm just too spoiled from spending the past month in Bangkok. Bangkok treated me REALLY well, and everything about the city is just better. Way hotter girls, smarter people, smoking is banned indoors, public transportation, better food, there is actually stuff to do, and it's cheaper. So far Jakarta has been pretty expensive for a poor quality of life. I'm basically spending what I spend in Manhattan, except here my quality of life is about 20x worse. I'll remain positive and hope that the weekend is a better experience for me.

I don't mean to hijack the thread, but I think people reading thread should hear another view of Jakarta. My experience so far has been WAY different than this thread would make you think it is..

edit: I'm a 6'0" tall white guy with an athletic build. In Bangkok I got checked out by almost every girl I saw, and practically never got rejected in the clubs. People talk about "white god" status in Indonesia, but I have not experienced it yet. Lots of girls just seemed hostile towards me tonight. Maybe Dragonfly just isn't the best venue for a guy to go by himself.

Transportation is horrific and there really is nothing to do during the day, but my experience was that Indo girls were hotter and smarter than Thai girls and with more personality. I really hope your first impressions are wrong and that it hasn't deteriorated (girl-wise) that rapidly.

travolta, don't jump to conclusions about Jakarta. It took me some time to figure it out before I really started pullng. You might want to try day game at shopping malls during the day. I didn't do it this time because I was too lazy, but if you are not satisfied with the quality and attitude of girls from clubs and online, daygame may solve this problem for you.

For daygame, this is what I would try:
- A cool coffee shop called Djournal at Grand Indo. Lots of hot chicks. Always busy, but you can ask if you can join one of the tables because there are no free tables most of the time.
- Grand Indo in general - Social House and Skye are at the same complex. Bring chicks these for instadates, they'll love it.
- Plaza Indo - high end, more upper class girls compared to Grand Indo. Some bars and restaurants there. Club Immigrant is now closed for renovation which is a shame.
- Plaza Senayan - high end shopping mall, similar to Plaza Indo, even better. A bar called Union at Plaza Senayan later in the evening, then bounce to Red Square (beware of hookers) and then X2 - all in the same complex.

Night game:
Thursday - I pulled from X2 last Thursday night, but it was half empty. You might want to check out clubs in Kemang, because the teenagers there DGAF what day of the week it is and party like crazy on most days. Check out Nu China (i pulled from there), 999, Tipsy (cheap bottles by JKT standards), and Venue (watch out, I got my phone stolen there).
Friday - I would go to X2, maybe warm up at Union or Red Square or Skye... but all clubs will be buzzing.
Saturday - same as Friday. More opportunities to meet and sleep with girls during the day.

Dragofly has some celebs, mafia types, upper class chicks, models, etc... so lots of chicks with attitudes. I only pulled from there once. It would be a good choice on a Wednesday night, because I don't know what other clubs are busy, but other than that don't bother.

If you need to buy booze, check out the supermarket at the lower ground floor of Grand Indonesia.

Now that the trip is over and the dust has settled, I will drop some data about the places I've visited and answer your questions.

I already wrote about Jakarta, so this time I'll just add some info, conclusions and comparisons.

Jakarta Nightlife - Addendum

There is something going on every night of the week, but the busiest nights are Friday and Saturday (everywhere) and Wednesday (Dragonfly and maybe other clubs).

Dress

What I wore to night clubs in JKT: nice black shoes, skinny Levi's jeans, form fitting shirts, sometimes a narrow black tie. Suiting up is not my style, but if you like it go for it. Just keep in mind that you'll have to wash or dry clean your clothes every time (see below about cigarette smoke).

Pre-game

Everybody is different, but I can't appreciate a night club when I'm sober, never mind pulling any chicks from there. What works for me:

- Buy 1 liter of vodka or your liquor of choice (max allowance) on the way to Jakarta, because alcohol if much more expensive there. If you haven't bought it, go to Grand Indo supermarket on the LG floor and buy booze from there. Most convenience stores and supermarkets only sell beer and Smirnoff Ice.
- Before going to a club, have 2 or 3 drinks or whatever works for you. Alcohol is fucking expensive at clubs: Manhattan prices for weak, watered down drinks + they charge for water, often almost as much as for alcohol. If your budget allows, you can pre-drink at a bar and maybe game some girls there who will then go to a club or straight to your place with you. Skye and Union are good high end bars with beautiful girls.

Going to a Club

Get there around midnight: later during the week, maybe a little earlier on weekend nights to avoid crowds.

You want to know the exact location of the club, because many taxi drivers are clueless. Find it in Google Maps on your phone and show the driver.

Some clubs charge cover (around 100k or less) and include one drink. Before you go to a club, get a bottle of water and drink it on the way. I also tried taking a bottle of orange juice spiked with vodka, though that was a bit too much and I got shitfaced.

Where to go

I didn't check out a lot of clubs, but my venue of choice is X2 even though the service there kind of sucks. Equinox on the top floor of X2 is where it's at.

Club Immigrant is also great if it's open (currently closed for renovation for 3 months).

Other clubs:

Refer to http://beatmag.com/jak/ for specific events, but generally, these are the guidelines:

Sunday: sucks in general, but you might want to try clubs in Kemang (999, Tipsy, Nu China, Venue, etc). I pulled from Nu China on a Sunday night.

Monday and Tuesday: again, Kemang is probably your best bet unless you know any other places.

Wednesday: a big night at Dragonfly. The only night when I recommend this club. Free entry, consider getting in early-ish and ordering bottle service if you are with friends.

Thursday: I went to X2 which was almost empty around midnight but then filled up around 50%, enough chicks to pull.

Friday and Saturday: check out beatmag, but basically every club is buzzing.

Where not to go

I'm not a big fan of "shoring", so that rules out the likes of BATS, MO Bar, Red Square, and pretty much most clubs in North Jakarta which are full of hookers.

Stadium. I've been there twice, both times some chicks brought me here and then bounced. I hate Stadium. Maybe there's something to it that I don't understand, but I can't be fucked trying to figure it out. Pulled a bitch once from there and regret that I did it. Ecstasy is semi-legal there (as in they pay the police not to be bothered, allegedly). I've never tried, but most people who go there take it.

Clubs - Dangers and Annoyances

Cigarette Smoke. Before you put on your best tailor made suit, be aware that most people smoke inside so your clothes will stink of cigarette smoke and need washing/dry cleaning, and you will probably be coughing the next day. You might as well smoke cigarettes yourself (I did), because you'll be smoking a lot passively anyway. If you are allergic or intolerant to smoke, just fucking close this topic and forget about Jakarta or Indonesia for that matter.

Theft. I had my phone stolen in Kemang (most likely Venue club), but this isn't the only place where it could happen. You're probably reasonably safe at Dragonfly, Immigrant, Skye, etc, but still watch out. Don't carry too much cash, your passport or many credit cards. Back up your phone before the trip. Consider using a cheaper phone just in case. When you bring a chick home, hide your wallet, documents, etc. A high class bitch I pulled from X2 stole my cheap watch. She was drunk and probably didn't think straight, but still, you get the point.

Violence. Generally, Jakarta is a safe city, but watch out and don't get in trouble. One of the girls I know used to be connected with Indo mafia and told me stories about bule's (and locals guys, too) who looked for trouble at night clubs, ran into mafia and then got killed, basically disappeared. I don't know if I can believe what she said, but better be safe than sorry. Having said that, I've never had any problems with Indo guys making trouble or even cockblocking me at night clubs. Not only that, but these guys actually got me laid with their female friends.

Overcharging. A friend of mine was overcharged 10X when he payed by debit card. I paid cash all the time at night clubs. Bring smaller bills because waiting for the change could take long. Tip if you think it's worth it, but the service charge is often already included - check the bill.

Other bule guys. Too fucking many of them at Dragonfly and X2, not so many at clubs in Kemang...yet. Unfortunately, major clubs are on the way to become bule cock fests - some already are on some nights. I saw white guys trying to pull and not getting much luck. At X2, one white guy tried to cockblock me when I pulled a chick and walked with her past him. He tapped me on the shoulder multiple times trying to get my attention, but I just ignored him. Later on, the chick told me that her bule ex bf was there, so maybe it was him trying to pick a fight with me or something. This is fucking pathetic...perhaps Jakarta nightlife is turning to shit and will soon become what it already is in many cities around the world: a fucking waste of time. I hope we still have a few years left before it happens.

I've noticed that Girls in clubs can be a bit flakey (though my sample size is really small). I've gotten a couple of phone numbers from girls I met at x2 and dragonfly- the girls are friendly and responsive, but when I bring up the idea of actualy hanging out they brush me off or reply with something stupid. Usually when girls aren't interested in me they just ignore. I've never experienced this before. Did you get this at all?

Don't bother getting phone numbers at night clubs, just try to bring them home. If they don't want to come home with you, move on to the next one.

Here is what I do: by the time I approach, I have enough liquid courage in me to be direct and start escalating fast. First, I say "Hi, what's your name?". When she responds, I say "I'm Brodiaga, nice to meet you", then maybe have a quick chat, like where I'm from and what I'm doing here and stuff. I don't lie to them when they ask me these questions, like that I'm just visiting here, but it's up to you what you want to say. Then I start dancing and touching her. If the girl responds well, I offer to buy her a drink. I know it's kind of beta, but it got me laid (and not buying drinks cockblocked me), so that's what I do. Buy a drink or two max, keep escalating, kiss her and/or feel her body, then offer to bounce to my place "for another drink" or "afterparty". If she doesn't, sometimes I go to the restroom and come back and ask again in a few of minutes just in case she reconsiders. If she's definitely not coming, I charge the drinks to the game and next the bitch. Chicks in JKT go to night clubs specifically to get fucked on that night, not to give their numbers.

General Observations and Advice

Assume that girls will look uglier in real life: 95% of them do.

Watch out for SIFs and otherwise ugly girls who manipulate angles, post old pictures, myspace shots, etc. I wasted too much of my valuable time on ugly girls, had to walk away from dates.

Don't bother with long message exchanges or creative "openers" like "I would swim across the Amazon just to see you" or whatever the fuck people write these days in the West to get entitled bitches' attention. Asia, particularly JKT, is a completely different ecosystem: you are the prize, so act accordingly.

Come up with a simple template, like "Hi, I am so and so from so and so, I'll be in Jakarta in April [don't give specific dates!]. You look cute, let's meet up! Why don't you give me your number and I'll text you when I'm in JKT". That's it, just start sending the message but make sure you only send it to attractive girls.

When you start getting numbers, save them on your phone and develop a prioritization system. I used letter "H" to mark hot girls, e.g. "Jkt Dewi DIA H". Fisto recommends a 1-5 scale on his web site, so that's what I would use if I did it again. Once you are in JKT, you won't have too much time going back and forth between the web site and your phone and deciding who to text - you'll be blasting messages to a bunch of girls trying to arrange a date or two for tonight, so make sure you start from the most attractive ones and never message any uglies or fatties or even have their numbers in the first place. For messaging, use WhatsApp - all girls have it.

Logistics: If you can, stay near Plaza Senayan or Grand Indo/Plaza Indo. Near as in within 5-10 min taxi ride. Kemang is also pretty good - there is the Fave Hotel there near the action, though I've never been inside the hotel and can't vouch for it or its guest policy. Taxis are cheap, but not easy to get during peak times. Like I mentioned before, use Bluebird or Express.

When you arrange to meet girls, the best venue is your place ("there is a nice deck by the swimming pool in my building/hotel, let's hang out there"), the next best choice is a bar close to your place. As a general rule, avoid meeting far from your place, especially in the evening when the traffic is crazy. If a girl offers to meet somewhere far away, only make an exception if you have nothing else to do and/or the girl is hot. Once near your place, buy some water on the way so that you have to go home with the girl to bring the water (stole this one from THC I believe).

Girls are down to fuck on the same day/night. If she doesn't fuck you on the first date or at least give you a bj/hj, chances are she won't even want to see you again. This is the general rule, there are exceptions, but if you're visiting, don't waste your time and escalate on the first date. If she doesn't want you, she will bounce and you will still have time left that night to keep running game.

Restaurants: I took girls out to restaurants because the cost is very low. I even took girls I wasn't going to bang and paid for them. Shopping malls, like Grand Indo, have a lot of great restaurants.

Money: money is tight in Indonesia. Store clerks probably make $100-150 per month, most office workers probably make lass than $1000 after tax. I paid for girls when I took them out on dates, bought drinks, etc. If you see that a girl is poor, like if she takes the bus/train to get to your place, don't be a dick and give her some taxi money, especially if you want to see her again. You don't want her to ride public transport back home at night, do you? 100K rupiah is more than enough to pay for her taxi ride both ways.

I don't know if there is white god status, but there is definitely white privilege in Jakarta.

However, you still need game, look young-ish and fit and dress well. Also, at least for me, there is a ceiling in terms of what kind of girls I can get. I've been on dates with girls who are definitely model material, but they didn't give it up for me. The closest I got was everything but sex with a part time model.

I've seen Asian guys do well in Jakarta - both Indonesian and foreign. I don't know what ethnicity you are or what your preferences are, but if you prefer Chinese girls there are Chinese neighborhoods and predominantly Chinese bars night clubs in North Jakarta. Can't remember the exact names, but should be easy to find.

Bandung is a city of 2+ mil people about 2-3 hour drive from Jakarta depending on traffic. It is popular as a weekend drip destination for Jakartans, so I took a weekend trip there with my regular girl.

I didn't game there, so can't comment on that, but because this place is uncharted territory on RVF, I'll share some general observations.

There is no specific reason to visit Bandung unless you know somebody who lives there or go with somebody who knows the area. It is smaller and less modern than Jakarta, but the traffic is just as bad.

If you do decide to visit, it's best to drive there and get around by car, because public transport is hard to understand and the taxi drivers may try to scam you (according to Wikitravel).

You can rent a nice apartment in a new, serviced high rise building with a swimming pool for less than $200/month, so it's probably a pretty good place if you want to lay low, stay pretty close to Jakarta and not spend too much.

Sightseeing: wikitravel ( http://wikitravel.org/en/Bandung ) describes the major sites pretty well, but I visited a few sights and nothing caught my attention. Most of the city consists of old, ugly looking buildings and dusty, poorly maintained roads, though there are some nice areas, particularly up in the hills where you can have dinner at a nice restaurant with a view.

Cuisine: many people from Jakarta visit Bandung to try the local cuisine which is delicious. I particularly liked the local pancakes.

Going out: there are some bars at the PVJ (Paris Von Java) mall. I was the only bule at the bar when we went there. Actually, I didn't see any other white people in Bandung except for a few visitors at the hotel. There are some night clubs in Bandung, but the word is that they close around midnight. I didn't go clubbing there.

I've seen some nice girls from Bandung on dating sites. One of them was even willing to take a day off and visit me in Jakarta, but I forgot to confirm/arrange the date. It is likely that the exotic value of a bule is higher in Bandung compared to Jakarta. I saw some beautiful girls in Bandung, but nothing special.

Someone here mentioned a while ago - how do you you know you are in Indonesia (and not some other hot SEA country)? The (hot) girls WILL open you - no opener required.

Besides the Phils and Thailand it's the easiest place to get laid. I find the quality of girls better than in the Phils and Thailand. The food is pretty ok but makes girls a little chubby. Attitude is great too. Prices are ok. Just the traffic is a nightmare and one needs to plan for it properly.

I will also try Surabaya, Yogyakarta and Malang. Let's see how that will go...

For Wednesdays, I would recommend Exodus over Dragonfly. I believe it has a more approachable, middle class crowd. Ratio should be good as it is ladies night.

It's an amazing place, but I don't want to over-hype it for those who have never been there.

Yes, girls will give you IOIs, some of them will open you, but you still need game. You have to know what you're doing, lead the interaction, buy them drinks (as a general rule), etc.

I personally fucked up a few opportunities with super hot girls just because I did things wrong (usually that involved drinking too much...or not drinking enough, lol). I still regret it, because where I am now, the girls of this caliber are out of reach for me no matter what I do and what kind of "game" I run.

Please report back about other places in Indo. I only explored Bandung this time, but would like to travel around the country more in the future.

When it comes to looks, there is nothing special about Indo girls compared to other Asians. Having spent some time in Thailand, I actually prefer the look of Thai girls, albeit only by a small margin. The %age of hot girls in Jakarta is not that high, but if you know where to look the ratio gets much better. I would say that, on average, the ratio of hot/ugly girls is better in Thailand, but unlike in Bangkok, the hot and/or upper class girls in Jakarta are open to white guys and speak excellent English, many of them ride the bule cock carousel pretty much full time and enjoy it.

Just like everywhere else, higher end places attract more beautiful girls. This includes malls like Plaza Indo, Plaza Senayan and Grand Indo as well as bars, restaurants and clubs inside and near these malls. Dragonfly has the hottest girls compared to other night clubs, but if you want to pull from there, bring your A game, get bottle service and good luck to you.

Types of Indo girls

Typical Indo look: dark-ish skin, dark hair, Asian features, but not Chinese-like, more like Cambodian/Isaan though not quite the same either. Height varies from short to very tall, but probably around 165 cm/5'4'' on average. A variety of body types: skinny, normal, chubby, some even fat. Unfortunately, a lot more chubbies/fatties than I would expect to see in an Asian country.

Ethnic minority Indo girls.

There are dozens if not hundreds of ethnicities in Indonesia, obviously my list only covers a small %age.

Middle eastern looking girls - usually bigger and chubbier.

Balinese or mixed Balinese girls with darker skin and less apparent Asian features - I really like that kind of look.

Chinese girls: typical Chinese look, light skin, slim, high class. There are neighborhoods and clubs in Jakarta where they congregate, though not sure how open they are to bule guys if they hang out at those places.

When it comes to religion, everybody has to have their religion listed in official documents, but that doesn't mean that everybody is religious. Most girls are Muslim but it doesn't stop them from drinking, clubbing and sleeping around. Indonesians are the most fun-loving people I have ever encountered, and no religion will get in the way of that.

Based on my limited experience I would say that Christian Catholic girls, girls from families with two religions, and minority girls are somewhat over-represented among those who ride the bule cock carousel.

Although Jakarta is huge city, the circle of party girls who sleep around and prefer bule guys is not that big. Once you start hanging out at the clubs frequented by bule and using the main dating sites, you'll be running into the same girls sometimes. I wouldn't be surprised if I had "eskimo brothers" among RVFers.

A typical "bule connoisseur" girl is an educated middle/upper class girl who speaks good English, has a pretty good office job or is on the path to get one, has traveled around SEA and sometimes even to Europe/US. The more discerning/experienced ones have developed preferences for certain types of bule they consider "higher end", e.g. tall, blond, french, etc, though that doesn't mean that they won't give it up for the rest of us.

In areas like Kemang, you are more likely to meet either "bule virgins" (or so they'll say to you), or at least those who don't date bule guys exclusively. Typically, their English is not that good or even non-existent. Based on my buddy's experience, learning Indonesian opens doors to a completely new territory where girls are smoking hot and unspoiled, but even without it there are enough fish in the sea for us ignorant folk, at least for now.

Regarding accommodations, I heard if you wanted a dope villa with a pool say in Bali, you'd have to pay one or two years rent in advance. Is it the same in JKT? Are there good decent fully furnished condos for short term like month to month priced reasonably? You mentioned that you get get a furnished condo in a new building in Bandiang for 200$/month. Would that be on a long term contract of 1-2 year or can you get it on a month to month or even 3 months?

I also heard that Javanese is a very easy language to learn.mis there anyone in here who has taken lessons or tried learning it? Javanese sounds like a very exotic language and would like to learn it.

Don't know much about Bali - only stayed in hotels there.

Bandung: the $200/month for a new condo is according to the girl I traveled with. I think it's for a 1 year lease, but this is a high end condo so there must be better prices and better terms available in Bandung.

Jakarta: I know that one can find a decent 1br in an average house (4 floors with parking, no swimming pool), decent neighborhood but not in the middle of the action, for around $250/month on a 1 year contract.

For very high end places, I talked to a girl at a shopping mall and she told me it's around $1000/month or more for a 1br in a new building somewhere close to Central Park shopping mall if I remember correctly.

The area near Grand Indo is somewhere in between, probably around $45-50/day on a daily/weekly basis for a 1br. Around $500-600/month or more on a long term contract - high rise building, swimming pool, amenities.

I am not familiar with the Javanese language. As far as I know, Bahasa Indonesia, the national language, is most common in Java. Unlike many Asian languages, It is based on Latin characters and is not tonal which makes it easier to learn. I only know a few words, though.

I didn't go to massage places in Kuta, but went to a couple in Ubud (I mean legit Balinese massage which I highly recommend btw). The girls who worked there looked too small, just like many Balinese I saw in the countryside. I wasn't specifically looking for girls to meet, but remember an English guy in the next booth trying to flirt with one of the massage girls.

I'm sure I'll come back to Bali at some point. Only explored a small part of it.

Never heard of it, will download and watch it.

Because I focused on getting laid, I didn't bring up any negative subjects with girls, such as genocide or anything negative about Indonesian history. I am aware that many horrible things happened in Indonesia, even recently. For example, there were riots/pogroms against the Chinese in the late 90s, also brutal killings to suppress separatism in Timor and other regions before that.

I tried talking to one of the smarter girls I met about colonial history in Indonesia, but she said she didn't know much about history so I left it at that.

Perhaps I'm in a different Indonesia than this person mentioned. I've been here for almost a week now and have gone out 4 nights. I have not even ONCE been opened. Plenty of ugly/average girls have checked me out, but no hot girls have opened me.... I've found that girls are generally friendly, but they have poor English and are a bit stupid. I'm not trying to take away from anybody's success they had in Jakarta, but forum members should take everything with a grain of salt. I have approached a LOT of girls during my time here, and my experience has been vastly different than what people say it's like.

Online game seems to be the way to go here. Last night I had to leave club X2 around 2am - my eyes were burning and tearing unconrollably from all the cigarette smoke. I texted this girl from okcupid after I left. I met her at this bar, and within 10 minutes we went back to my place. She was surprisingly hotter in person than in her pictures. I got her naked in my bed, and she was wet (literally the wettest girl I've ever seen). She didn't want to put out. I let her spend the night and tried again in the morning. She still didn't want to put out. I got pretty furious and kicked her out after that. Based on the girls I've been meeting I'm not too surprised with her behavior. Most of the girls I've met just seem a bit off.

Overall Jakarta has been a real grind for me. I'm putting in a shit load of effort for girls who barely speak English and are decent looking. For the amount of effort I'm putting in it makes more sense to just go to Taiwan or Japan where the girls are hotter... And where I won't get lung cancer after I exit the club.

That's my experience so far anyway.. also to be taken with a grain of salt.

Edit: in 1 hour I'll go out and see what's up with Club Exodus. My expectations are low. Part of me thinks it's a smarter move to just stay in and work instead.... get more money for my upcoming trip to Japan. But it's my last Saturday night in Jakarta so staying in would be a damn shame.
