Smart. Need a card with straight important numbers. You never know what type of shit may go down.

I'm surprised more people don't do this. Also important to have it on you in a place where it can't be taken.

When you get locked up, they take your shoes etc.

Memorizing is good too, but if you're drunk, etc memory might be faulty.

Beautiful wallet and watch, do you use the same watch regardless of shoe color? Black/brown?

Thanks. Currently, I'm wearing mostly black shoes since I got this watch because I can't really see myself combining black and brown leather. Nevertheless, I'm solving this issue by buying a second watch soon. I will either go for a stainless steel bracelet or a more casual weekend watch bearing a NATO strap. But I don't want to turn this thread into a discussion about watches. [Image: confused.gif]

Depending on the situation I have more EDCs, but one would need to define two categories in the likes of B-EDC (business) and C-EDC (casual).

B-EDC:
  • Montblanc Meisterstück business bag, but without strap (it ruins the suit)
  • Montblanc Meisterstück business card holder (I'm a Montblanc whore, I know)
  • Coming soon: Montblanc Meisterstück Fountain Pen
Since I currently don't really have a casual life, I will update C-EDC items another time. [Image: dodgy.gif]

Other than these already mentioned things I have a pencil, a few folded up sheets of paper and 1-2 condoms.

I constantly have a problem with my pockets forming holes through which my change can slip, I probably overstuff them so they go to hell fast.

I use this phone case: http://www.amazon.com/CM4-Q4-BLACK-iPhon...allet+case

Although when I checked Amazon just now I saw this one which looks a lot better: http://www.amazon.com/eForCity-Compatibl...allet+case

-Keep my driver's license and a credit card in the phone/wallet. On the inside, hidden from public view is a $20 bill and a $50 bill. Have to take the case off the phone to access the cash.

-In the trunk of my car I keep amini-dopp kit. This was recommended practice in the military since there are so many ways your dressier uniform can get fucked up/stained/ribbon fall off/etc. People would keep a spare set of ribbons, name tags, badges whatever. Right next to my go-bag in the trunk which is something else entirely.

-There's also a small hand-written square of paper in both my regular wallet and inside the iphone case with my name and e-mail address on it if either item is lost.

-On my keychain I keep a small multi-tool. It functions as a screwdriver, bottle opener, self-defense weapon and so on.

-Used to keep a hand gun in the car too but now moved to NY state it's frowned upon.

-Lastly and not something I do, but I have a friend used to fight pro MMA. He would take his black mouth piece with him to the bar in his pocket. If someone wanted to fuck with him, he would stand chest-to-chest with the guy and calmly put his mouth piece in, ready to rock. Fight instantly defused.

For those of you guys who hate carrying stuff with you, if you don't mind carrying a manbag I have two manbags which I kinda like. My favorite which is more of a bag is the UTG Tactical Messenger bag, basically a cheaper knock off of the Maxpedition bags but this one is almost just as good quality. Best part is it's like $23 with shipping on Amazon.

This other one is the Kangatek Bandolier Sling. This one is kinda cheesey to carry arond for everyday around town use but I will wear it when doing something active, or maybe riding my motorcycle.

As far as what I carry, a small pocketsize notepad and pen. Cellphone, ciggs, lighter, headphones and hitter box.

I use the Hex case. I tried out the second one you listed when I first got my iphone and then moved up to the pimpin' Hex case. Getting the phone out of the case is a bit of a hassle, but I've only had to do so once. http://www.amazon.com/HEX-Wallet-Leather...+iphone+4s

Personally I carry:
*Wallet/phone with ids and credit/debit cards
*Keys
*Watch (either classic-metal or athletic-velcro-digital depending on what I'm doing)
*Ring
*Glasses, I don't need them to drive like I used to, but everyone thinks I look more attractive with them, can't beat that.

As a general rule, I always carry a knife and it's sharp enough to take the hair off my arm.

The opinel number 8 is a good example of what I'd carry. It's also cheap enough that I wouldn't feel too bad if I lost or abused it. I prefer carbon steel folding knives because most stainless steel knives under 50 dollars are junk.

The knife gets used in either the kitchen or at work. It's also opened countless beer bottles for me and even a few wine bottles when there wasn't a bottle opener to be found.

3. Wallet

In trunk of car I have a bin with

5. Button up shirt with tie

Phone
Keys
Sunglasses
7 cards comprising various bank cards, driving licence, health ins card and ski instructor licence (the last one makes me feel good, I don't strictly need it)

I used to know a guy who only went out of the house with his house keys and one debit card. I long for the day there is one card that can replace all of the ones I carry.

With regards to watches, I used to have a few lovely watches but then I changed my life from being in a place where it helped to have to right watch to not wearing one at all. I'm much more relaxed as a result.

I found a nice wallet in the years since I wrote this post.

It's called the Trayvax Summit wallet.

The price was right ($20) so I gave it a whirl and it definitely does the trick. I keep my house key in it and it holds all my cards and one or two bills in the back. Frees up the back pocket so I'm not sitting on a wad of leather. It also advertises itself as indestructible and I have not been disappointed so far.

Anyone carry a flashlight on them everyday?

^ in the winter months in particular, and sometimes in the summer when out at night, I will carry a cheapo AA flashlight like this

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00IEMUOWU/
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00CEOII9K/

Both are blinding up close. The first one is dimmer and doesn't have a bezel front, but it turns on upon partial push of the button. Second needs to be "clicked" before it lights up, but it is a good deal brighter. A bezel may be useful in self defense, but you'd be holding a few ounces of metal in your hand either way. I carry the first one (without a bezel) if I'm likely to get screened, it's not as threatening, and therefore less likely to be taken away.

The second one has multiple modes (high, low, strobe) but I would look for one without those.

They both have zoom lenses so you can focus on something in the distance or shine it under your feet. And they're cheap enough to buy a bunch and leave around the house and in your car.

Keep in mind, brightness and battery life are inversely related. If you use it rarely, might as well make it bright as you can go for the size you carry, otherwise you might want something with a dim mode as an option.

Also, most Amazon sellers are full of shit about how many lumens their flashlights put out. Some of them are just more subtle about it (overstate by 10-20% instead of 300-500%). Read the details and reviews. You can always Google the bulb model for the truth.

Same as with CCW, the smaller it is, the more likely you are to bring it with you. You can also find AAA lights in a similar budget range, they will be smaller but emit less light. I used to have a cheapo Duracell AAA - light enough to keep on my keychain for finding my keyhole at night, but it wasn't going to blind anyone in the dark.

I think this will be my next buy for the AAA size:

Oh yeah I was eyeing the ThruNite. Also looking at this one because I am so amazed at how far it can throw. Imagine taking all that light in the face [Image: bukkake.gif]

Yeah, rechargeable batteries can hold more energy and therefore drive more light, but flashlights that are designed to handle the extra volts tend to be pricier, and you need to buy batteries and charger on top. I do like the built in USB charger of the NiteCore.

Those both look solid, but I find the prices hard to justify for my budget. I'm curious what you go with, though.

If I do buy one then I'll definitely let you know. Kind of weird but I started looking at youtube videos about one and then it just went to another and then another. My GF is telling me to not waste my money on that stuff and I'm leaning in that direction haha

I also looked into the Surefire E1D Defender but I don't like how it doesn't have a strobe feature for the price it's set at.

What I'm probably going to do is buy that AAA ThruNite you posted, throw it on my keychain and see how much I use it and go from there.

I used to be big on EDC flashlights and knifes and useless shit, but got tired of all the bulk for crap that I didn't really use. In urban settings, I would use the flashlight once every 5 years at most.

Now I just carry 2 keys on a chain like this
https://www.amazon.com/Victorinox-Wenger...B0116F00BG

Discreet and quality chain, had it for years and still looks like new (no color changes or stuff like that).
Now I don't have to worry about losing my keys ever again.

Plus this little guy
https://www.amazon.com/Nite-Ize-DoohicKe...00FIX126K/
Which does 99% of what I would use a pocket knife for, but is the size of a key.

I still have separate wallet (3 cards+cash) and phone, I'm looking into optimizing into one of those wallet-phone cases in which I will drill a hole, rivet it and attach a second chain. Nothing beats the tranquility of knowing it is physically impossible for you to lose/forget your stuff because it is attached to your belt.

Keys, wallet, phone. One of two pocket knives; one is smaller but nicer looking so I carry it to more formal events. Fitbit or nice watch. Pencil and small notebook. One of three different handguns depending on the situation. Business cards.

I used to carry a flashlight and multitool, but that's too much in most situations. I never needed either spontaneously, and I have better tools for when I know I will doing real physical labor.

For my keyring, all I need is 3 keys, a gym tag, and security token for work. In addition, this works well for me:

-The Nite-Ize doohickey - I like the sharp end for opening boxes, and it's a bottle opener. Occasionally I think about removing it, but it gets enough use and is fairly light.
-Smallest possible keyring (this was big in reducing size and weight) - 1/4 inch, I think.
-These all hang on a small amulet clip - fantastic to keep things from bunching up at the bottom of your pocket, clips to the pocket edge instead. Cheaper than the dedicated clips. https://www.amazon.com/Amulet-Accessorie...B00S2U123O

Use it like this

In the US:

1. Keys /w bottle opener and LED flashlight
2. A loaded Handgun 9mm or .40cal (sometimes both)
3. Loaded magazine
4. Karambit or Folding Knife
5. Phone
6. Smartwatch
7. Wallet

Outside the US:

1. Wallet
2. Passport
3. Phone

I think I will start carrying a bugout bag /w an AR15 that I take from the house to the car and a tourniquet that hides inside your belt in case of an active shooter situation and first aid is needed.
