This is so f'in retarded! All great threads on these forums get derailed this way. Here we have a guy sharing real success with pictures to back it up and sharing how he reached that admirable physique. And all these haters come out of the woodwork. Then a bunch of fully grown men start btiching at each other like women with their tampons lit on fire.
For once id like to see an exchange of ideas rather than shooting down another person just to be right on an anonymous forum. We could have had several sample workouts by now if we werent acting like a bunch of women... Im gonna wing it at the gym today.. fuckers

i think you also forgot a category in your scale of male physique: built fat
thats where I am right now even though I have a 8 to ten inch drop. i'm in the high teens in BF% (legitimately as measured by multiple instruments including Body Metrix personal scanner a $300 device that uses sonogram to actually measure the depth of the fat) but also have 200 lbs LBM. I think you're being simplistic.
also, on another board I frequent,an MMA board, the girls did a poll with varying physiques and the one that one as ideal? built fat. (not obese obviously, but muscular with some fat on you)
I know people here wont believe it, but the feed back i get confirms it.
of course it is a selection bias, because the ones with me say they like what i've got, but i also hear that vascular abs and extreme leanness is a turn off because it screams vanity and lots and lots of work and dedication.
chicks want you to be effortlessly awesome. very very few people are naturally sub ten or even 12 percent body fat.

Busting your ass is what makes the difference. I eat when I am hungry, no calorie or macro counting. I eat a stupendous amount of carbs(roughly 400 grams a day on average).That said, I try to follow a few basic nutritional rules. 1.) If there's protein around, eat it. 2.) Try to get a decent amount of fruit/veggies everyday 3.) Eat plenty of healthy fats(I go through 2-3 jars of peanut butter a week). Its very simple. Eat good wholesome food, stay away from shit like soda, and workout till you puke. If you do that, your physique will transform.
Edit: 4.) I forgot, drink your fucking water. Your muscles are mainly water...I drink 1.5-2 gallons a day.

No sprints? Planks and core stuff? Swimming? Shadow Boxing? etc.
I am always amazed when people get great results from simple workouts.
How does this transfer to athletics?
Reason, I ask is I have seen plenty of guys that "look athletic" but when it comes down to it can't make it happen.
Not saying this is you of course, but with a simple and effective workout routine you use, do you find that it transfers into real world athletics? ie Boxing, Running, Surfing, Hoop, Swimming etc.
Also, what is your booze intake?

Some guys act like you're either average size or a bodybuilder. There's no middle ground between slim and "gorilla". G brings up the point I'm most concerned about...functional size and strength aka athleticism.
No offense to OP, he obviously put in the work and looks great. His goal is to impress women and that's fine. But it's not "hating" to question his weight.

Not only are none of these guys bodybuilders, they are a collection of the fastest, quickest, and most explosive human beings EVER.
And as you can see by that list, 6'2" 165 is simply small by an athletes standard. OP is more cut than many of those guys and that's his goal. But for the guys who practice a martial art or play sports, that weight would put them at a disadvantage in the ring or on the field while providing no noticeable advantage in performance.
I personally try to find a balance between aesthetics and functionality. I want to be athletic but I also don't think guys like Tony Parker or Anderson Silva have great bodies despite being elite athletes. Guys like Adrian Peterson and GSP do though.

G you're mentioning guys who are half a foot or more shorter. I'm talking about weight in relation to height. I'm not saying short guys can't be great athletes by any means. But that's why they compare fighters "pound for pound"...the bigger guy with similar skill has the advantage.
Hearns is a good example but that's one out of 100. And he was able to fight all the way up at Cruiserweight with his frame.

Doesn't sound like OP is working out for athletics. Otherwise, he would be trying to put on weight.

It's entirely possible and probable that the definition you're seeing is a direct result of the mad cardio you do and not the push ups and what not.
15% body fat at 6'2" and 185 lbs that means you have 157 lbs LBM. That honestly sounds so scrawny to me. Is it even possible to be defined at 15% bf and only 157 lbm on. 6'2" frame?
I think just like with the chick hotness scale we all have different ideas of what muscular or jacked or ripped or defined means.
Again I have 200 lbs lbm at just about your height with high teens bf and I don't look jacked and I've got 40 lbs of lean body mass on you. 40 lbs! Maybe once I cross down to sub 15% bf it will all make more sense to me. Who knows.

I tried doing handstand pushups, with my toes hanging on a bar about shoulder height and my nose started bleeding immediately. This didn't happen with tiger pushups or with pseudo-handstand pushups with my feet suspended at the height of my xiphoid process (bottom center of the chestplate). Anyone familiar with this? Did a little Googling, some say it's nothing, others say to see a doctor immediately.
I don't get nosebleeds often - used to get them occasionally from picking my nose too aggressively, but haven't in a long time.

Reaper: Impressive! You are strong, no doubt it. I have to disagree with you about women preferences though. There are a lot of big hefty guys walking around, very very few guys with sub-10 bodyfat. Women like rare things like diamonds, the reactions I get are priceless. About coming across as to try-hard I would have to to put more effort in achieving a bulkier look. It kind of comes down to embracing your natural phenotype.
Gmanifesto: Thanks, man. I don't do any independent core work. Just to be able hold a handstand, your abs/lower back have to be tremendously strong.
Sometimes I will do uphill sprints if I am trying to get extra shredded for a pool party or something. Highly recommended but brutal...
I think the athletic transfer is great. I have never been as fast, strong and flexible as I am now. I am trying to get more seriously into mountain climbing and this type of training is ideal for that. You just don't want to be carrying too many spare pounds when you are hanging off a cliff with one hand. From what I gather, many fighters train this way but that is not my expertise.
My booze intake is high, too high. 2-3 nights a week(7-8 drinks). Its slows down recovery a little bit, but honestly alcohol is not so bad....
Basilransom: Take it very very slow. Your body has to get used to being upside down and blood pooling in the head. Just start with trying to hold a headstand for a minute.
