I don't really have a "make it rain" strategy. I am admittedly a thirsty party-goer who likes to create a fun atmosphere by paying drinks, and it's in my nature to be prodigal, but I don't throw money at women. If you can fit in and keep up, it's all yours.
Also when is Russia and out on the town the men pay for everything, period. Your girl will forgive you for being drunk slurring speech or stumbling, but she will never forgive you for being stingy.
Anyway, IMO inviting girls to drink does work. We all have our own methods (some guys employ methods very successfully that don't work for me at all and vice-versa) and I'm happiest and most successful sticking to mine.

I was at a club in Kharkiv with my girlfriend and her friends. A Turkish guy started talking to one of my girlfriend's friends. Eventually he joins us at our table. During the night he bought us sushi, several bottles of champagne, was throwing money around it it was nothing. He tipped the coat check woman 100 grivnas. He even insisted on paying for our taxi home. He handed the taxi driver 100 grivnas and said "take them anywhere they want to go".
He got the attention of my girlfriend's friend but I think there's such as thing as overdoing it. These girls were entertained by his behavior but I wasn't sure if they were making fun of him or not. He was trying too hard. It just didn't seem appropriate.
There have got to be better ways of coming across as rich without trying as hard as this guy. Off the top of my head, you could make sure your iPhone 5 is noticed, or when you open your wallet to pay, sift through your 100 dollar bills until you find a grivna bill to pay with. Things like that which are more subtle but still get the point across. If you look like you are trying too hard, she'll lose some respect for you.

Sounds like: 1) do not have a Western attitude with them (i.e. expect them to split or pay for much), and 2) look good and make sure money is not a barrier to having a good time, however there is no need to be ostentatious.

In Ukraine, it's really about finding a balance when it comes to your spending. Too much and you may mark yourself, too little and you turn off the girls. Like I mentioned earlier, set your limits and play within that.
But if you do tend to be tight with money, Ukraine will not give you much. You can be tight in America is do quite fine, on the other hand.

Interesting thus western attitude of not paying. I of course would never buy a drink etc. But from my early dating experiences American women of my generation expect a man to Pay on dates. Maybe going Dutch started with generation y? I am generation x. That being said I had a date in Ukraine pay for herself once. It turned me off. Made me think of her like a western feminist. I rather someone acts like their culture than pretend to be otherwise.
I don't often meet Ukrainian / Russian women who will offer to buy me a drink or go dutch on a date HOWEVER I often will be in a club or bar and be invited to join a group of girls at a table and poured a drink from their communal carafe of liquor that they have ordered for themselves. If you look like you're fun and look the part women will grab you and invite you to drink with them. I expect that Prosal would concur and have similiar experiences with this.
The thing is once you've drained the carafe with them you feel the need to re-order one but since its the most economical to drink in the FSU it really isn't a problem. Better to order a carafe for a table then buying individual top shelf drinks. It also locks you into the table once you've ordered the carafe since you won't be going anywhere til it is drained. By the time it's drained you're usually dragging one of the group off to the dance floor to grind on her.

+1. In FSU, men are expected to call the shots, period. If you are out with one of these young successful, good looking babes and she offers to pay for her own drinks, then sex is probably not on the menu. She just wants to "be friends". It sends a pretty clear message. Same for girls who pretend to be "teetotal". Was just in Kiev running around Slubu and his friend for 9 days. Came in kind of limping from my previous destinations but had to of course find the fire somehow, this was The Ukraine I had read and heard so much about. Night one was a Sunday night and we went to Shooters. Pretty funny scene there with the Turkish mongers and a bunch of drunk 6's and 7's basically. Got eye fucked in there like crazy and ended up banging one of the above mentioned. Really nice body, face was kinda ehhh I found out when I woke up hungover as shit the next morning. 1 for 1 though! Ended up 1/9 by the time I left.
One of the reasons I was excited about going, was I met an absolute stunner in Thailand back in January who I chatted up for no more than 10 minutes, but got her Facebook info and kept in touch with her. Told her I was coming and she was genuinely excited. I gave her my dates of arrival about a month before and she messaged me "Are you here!", before I even reached out to her, which I was planning on doing ASAP. Eagerness is usually good.
Went out with her and I picked a place I thought was a good choice, she came back with some other place which she liked more. General consensus on the web was "Good place, overpriced"...great, here we go! Met her there and she was absolutely the bombshell I remembered and saw online. I dont know if I got her buzzed and then she regretted it the next day, played me for the dinner (dont think so, really), etc.
Really weird as the date went really well and I could feel her sexual desires when making out with her in the taxi home. Someone is not hitting it right, as she had some built up sexual energy for sure which I think she wanted to let out, but couldn't because of her situation (assuming true). I still dont know what the fuck happened with her? Stunner, sweet, went well...went cold. She was so hot I am going to let it fizzle for now, give her space and then maybe try and get her to meet me on the coast of Spain or something this summer. She is THAT hot.
Another night I went out with a chick I met in Warsaw who I thought was cute and ended up being overweight a little, which I had no tolerance for especially considering the talent everywhere. Met her at a high end bar which was dead, and then she suggested we bounce to Shooters. I was all over it as anything to see other chicks. This was I think a Wed night (not a ladies night) and it was actually fun as shit. Chicks dancing on stage taking their tops off, cheap booze flowing and a generally good energy. Right when I walked in I had chicks eyeing me like crazy as if saying "What the fuck are you doing with her?!" I knew this chick had to leave soon for work in the AM, so I eye fucked as many as I could and stuck around. The second she left it was game on. Had 3-4 chicks jockeying for lead role with me, seriously. It was silly but a lot of fun playing the game. Ended up choosing one who I thought I had the best chance of going home with. Danced, kissed, danced some more (One of previous girls leaves and gives me her biz card right in front of this one). I tried to get her back to my place but her English was so bad I couldnt make it happen. The last thing she then said at about 5AM was, "I want sushi right now" Next!
Went home alone but had a fun night with a bunch of cute girls qualifying themselves to me.
Overall, I liked Kiev but did not LOVE it. Not to mention, VERY expensive when you go to the high end places ($10-$15USD for drinks)

Yes, I am not saying they are the creme de la creme by any means and I REALLY tried to avoid Vodka Bar at all costs, but still popped my head in just to see the deal. If you just want to have a good time though and drink for cheap around a bunch of 6,7, and occasional 8's, Shooters is a good look.
The chick I banged was definitely not a pro, just a chick out having fun. The one who said "I want sushi", I'm pretty sure she wasn't either and was just a high maintenance gold digger type.
I went to Shooters twice, ladies night and the non ladies night. They both get on stage and I cant help but stare at her, damn she was hot! I caught her looking at me also and even whispering to her friend something. One time we locked eyes and I threw her a pretty big smile and she gave me back this ever so slight grin, that had this written all over it "I like you also, but there is no way I can do anything with my mafia boyfriend here, so don't waste your time and get killed." It felt great to the ego, but also crushing as this was THE girl I came to Kiev to find.
As I drank a little more, I wanted to catch her going to the bathroom and see if I could quickly get contact info but she wasn't even drinking, that I noticed at least and she only went back to their booth.

Also, there were some whores sprinkled throughout the place, as I found out there twice (one girl offered her and her friend for me) and another said I work tomorrow, tonight I drink.
Anyway my buddy and I approached many girls, got a few numbers but that was it. At the end of the night somehow two girls jump in the cab with us to go drink champagne on our balcony. One was nasty the other was attractive. Unbeknownst to me, they were whores too. So eventually they go ok let's have some fun how much. At this point I was drunk and just toying with them to see how much, so I go 70 bucks, she goes no 300. Ukraine is like the only place I have ever been where the whores don't let you know to the lAst minute. It's also the only place where whores decide they are not going to work the night but sit there like they are working. I knew a guy use to complain thAt it's only country where ehores reject you lol.
wow a lot of talk of pros and semi pros in kiev. That's a bit disappointing to hear. I mean, I know it's not like SEA, but still. One thing nice about Kharkiv is that there are very few pros.

Granted, definitely some sour grapes from this middle aged returnee, they have the exact type of figures I love and the shitty climate greatly reduces premature sun damage to their skin.

You can say that again. Last time i was there in 2011, I picked up some bird from the Budda Bar and brought her back to my place. Following morning she leaves and I discover 2 hours later that there is €300 robbed out of my wallet.
That said, its said to see how bad Kiev has become. I had a blast there back in 2010 and 11 but after my last visit there, I decided that I had enough of the place.
