Scotian. Great report but next time please don´t highlight the grand finale of the story because my eyes already graze over it when still reading up to it. Kinda spoils the surprise a bit.

Ok so I've been in Manila for four days, stayed at the reasonably priced ($35 USD/night) Great Eastern Hotel in Makati but didn't like the area, lady boys and under age hookers and other general riff raff on the streets at night, not my scene.

Guys, I needed a change from what I've been doing over the past two months, I wanted the western convenience and comforts and was willing to pay the high price so I relocated to a high end area and trust me, I'm paying for it but its so nice to see the "other side" of the Philippines and I highly suggest that you guys check it out as well.

Believe me, in the past two months I've had the full Filipino experience: I've been to the beautiful beaches, saw the rice terraces, slept in shitty hotels (once, unfortunately), dove the best dive spots, eaten the shitty food (and got the shits), saw some amazing natural sites, almost got jacked, almost hooked up with a tranny, banged girls who probably live in shacks, etc.....you get the point. It was time for a change.

So I found a nice place in the upscale neighborhood of Fort Bonifacio and it is like being in another world. This place is super clean, very safe and very high end. I'm staying in the highest high rise in the Fort (38th floor of a 50 floor condo) and am paying dearly for it, although its not that bad at $400/week, money well spent IMO. To get a good idea of what I'm talking about, take a couple of minutes to watch this video to see what one of the high end areas of Manila has to offer: Fort Bonifacio Global City (BGC)

I just arrived here yesterday so haven't had the chance to see all of BGC yet, but I will update this thread in the next few days. So far, I've only hit up two locations: Market Mall and High Street

Market Mall: Located about 300M from my condo, I've been here twice in the past couple of days. Now, I'm the kind of guy who hates being in a mall but trust me if you're in the Philippines in the month of April, you'll be spending time in the malls and this is one of the better ones I've been to in the country. Full of nice shops, cheap restaurants and decent cafes, this is a pretty good day game spot. Also, after the mall closes at night, there's an area in the back with a few outdoor eateries and bars where a live band plays, although it closes quite early, 11pm.

High Street: My favorite area so far but like I say, its only the second place I've been. Full of higher end boutique stores and very nice restaurants, this is a good place to bring a girl to eat and/or have drinks. I was here last night and the restaurants and bars close at midnight so keep that in mind. Last night I ate at a New Orleans style restaurant and tonight I'm at a Texan style place, ya I know, not a very Asian experience but I was craving some American style food. There's also some Japanese, Filipino, Chinese and Asian fusion style places here. These places are higher end and the clientele is upper class Filipino and gringo but the prices are reasonable, I'm paying 90P for a 16 Oz draught beer (the first time I've had draught since I've been in the country!) and 350P for a large quesadilla.

Anyway, its getting late here and I've got a buzz on so I'm probably going to head back to the condo to dress up and hit up one of the BGC hot spots that's bumping on a Wednesday night. Ya I know I previously said I'm going to cut back on the boozing, and I will, tomorrow, I promise, hahaha!

I'll likely go to a place I find on here: http://www.globalcitynights.com/

More to come on the higher end spots to hit up in Manila.....

Awesome stuff Scotian!
That Fort Bonifacio does indeed look pretty neats. Looks more like Hongk Kong or Singapore than Manila! I'm sure that at around 1200-1500/month, one can rent a pretty sweet pad in the Fort. And if 2 like minded guys were to join forces, it would be even cheaper and sweater of a deal!

Please do tell us more about the attitude of the upper class girls that frequent those posh clubs, bars, lounges and restos. Would be interesting to hear about that as I've been reading/hearing that they are totally against mingling with foreigners unless said foreigner is living and doing big things in the Phils.

Btw, how long are you going to be in Manila? How do you rate the girls from Manila versus say those in Cebu or Davao in terms of attitude and easiness? I have heard that the Manila girls can be kind of arrogant and cold almost gringa like specially those from and in Quezon City. Have you encountered the same thing too?

While the area does look gorgeous, doesn't it kinda bother you that everything is "too perfect" out there? coming from 2 months of the real local experience, messy adventures, it is personally a shock to me when i see a mall area in SEAsia like that. Same thing happened to me when I visited Saigon --> District 7. Believe me, you had no idea how much i wanted to live in D7.. until I saw the disgusting mainstream culture that made me want to get out of the US in the first place!

Perhaps it works w/ your style.. but for me personally it's just too much work for girls w/ nothing more than a lil extra makeup.[Image: boring.gif]

Tell you one thing about the Fort when its hot there its is frigin hot! concrete jungle to the extreme, the heat there is 5c more usually than just outside the place. It is nice there, its one of the nicer areas with the step down area from the mall with all the eateries.

Girl wise there you'll either get the first gen rich or the parents worked hard so they could give their kids education in top US schools rich and like in all 3rd world countries those rich can put 99% of the US to shame with their money its crazy.

Women wise you'll always get the slutty ones that dont really care who you are, or the ones being western union sponsored by silly foreigners, those types dont mind mingling (especially if p4p [Image: tongue.gif]) but for typical old money rich they might entertain you for a little bit but usually they're their with friends and they'll speak mostly in tagalog and 9 out of 10 times you'll have a better chance getting a girl in NK then getting one of those to leave with you.
Also those rich expect 2-3 dates with a chaperon, but on the bright side they're more than happy to pay for themselves because they more than likely have more money and better jobs than you and KFC wont work on them [Image: tongue.gif].
I just love the fact you can go out in the phils at pretty good quality restaurant and its gonna cost you like $30 for a good meal like right in the greenbelt or other nice restos in the area for 2 people.

I was hoping to spend that amount in a month!

It is a flash place thats for sure, just like any other "new asian area" on the planet

I rather find a mid class area, i want to be in the trenches with the local fodder..

Davao, Philippines Datasheet

Arrival
I arrived in Davao early from Bangkok having not slept on the overnight flight going through Manila. Metered taxi from the airport took about 20 minutes. Hawkers will be flagging you to take their vans, but taxis are cheap and the metered stand was very obvious with locals lined up. My driver asked if it was my first time in PI, I lied and said I'd been to Manila a few times which he seemed to buy and told a story of a guy that came looking for a wife and got screwed over because the girl was already married.

Home Base
Regency inn ended up my home base for 2 weeks - I paid around 1500 peso/night. I asked if they did special rates for longer stays but they said they didn't do that. The hotel was used for a lot of conferences it seems. The internet was terrible but I moved into a room directly above the lobby where I could reach the "Mezzanine" wifi. I would have to ask them to restart the router around once a day. It got to the point where the front desk would reset it when seeing me walk in the front doors because they'd know I would ask. There weren't a ton of hotels near the areas I frequented but the ones I did were the same or more expensive (and the next highest jump in quality seemed to be the Marco Polo hotel at $90+ a night).
You can find serviced apartments, but they might require longer minimum stays.

Daily Routine
Each day I would go to Gaisano mall to eat. I would usually end up disappointed when I ate at the hotel's cafe downstairs.
Terrible Caesar Salad
[Image: rfNALuC.jpg]
At least half the times when I went out to eat I wouldn't see another white person - when I did it was an older grandpa. GMall's food court is on the top floor and if you keep walking towards some double doors it opens up to a nicer outdoor area with some more larger restaurants.

Poker Info (Skip this if you aren't interested in Poker)
I realized that there was a poker room in Davao only 2 blocks from my hotel! Metro Card Club is one of the best poker rooms I've ever played in, and I've probably played in at least 40 across the world...

The good:

Loose games / plenty of terrible players
Live acoustic music / vocals
Tournaments Every Day to bring in players
Comps tickets for food / drinks (play 2 hours, get 4BB in comps)
Ability to store cash at cage
Quick floor people always on top of filling seats / getting cash and seem to give a shit
Quick and good dealers (not once do I remember a mistake being made)
Promoting open seats in higher limit games over speaker frequently
Free beer some nights until 12PM (Monday and Friday?)
A pot of free food served usually around 10 (strange gruel like substance, didn't try)
In tournaments if you finish out of the top 3 places but in the money, you can receive double your winnings if you play cash games for an hour
Super late entry for tournaments into 4th or 5th round
Massages available
Omaha games a couple days a week (usually on weekends)
Cute dealers
No cutoff for time serving alcohol - since most bars close at 1 or 2am, could make a good afterparty spot (if not abused)

The bad:

10% rake - all poker is managed by a central gaming authority who long ago dictated this rake amount. The games are still very beatable, but a ton of money leaving the table this way, a lot of new money has to come to the table (fortunately it does here)
Players don't like to show hands at showdown first (slows the game down)
Games start late around 7 at the earliest
Low stakes - 25-25 blinds highest limit
Frequent short stacks (also a good thing sometimes, but adds extra dynamics to proper play when players are pushing on draws and mid pocket pairs pre-flop.

Nightlife / Stories

Prime Square / E-vibe

Tell taxi "E-vibe" or "Torres" to get here. The only place I went to worth going to in Torres (well, really all of Davao..) was E-Vibe. The others seemed to be all tables with a live band with no dance floors. I went here 3 times total, one on a weekday and the other 2 times on the weekend. Cover is 50 pesos.

The dance floor is large and the room is very open. Until everyone starts dancing, you really can't approach anyone except 4-5 randoms that may be sitting at the bar. People don't usually get drinks at the bar by themselves since there's so many servers. There is a short break on Friday/Saturday for a "dance contest" where the winner gets a bar tab. There's no point going until a little before 11:30/12:00 and that happens. It ends up being a popularity contest of who brought the loudest friends there + who can dance slutty and get people cheering. After the dance contest ends a lot of people go back to dancing for the remainder of the night. If you are taller than 5'9, you are going to stand out and it's impossible NOT to be noticed since one wall of the dance floor is covered in a mirror. To my memory I would say only a third or less of the girls dressed in a dress and sexy shoes, most had casual dress.

If you don't dance you can open a girl dancing while walking to the restroom. You have to walk through the dance floor to get there. My second time here I realized how much value I had here and opened a girl I saw checking me out when I went to the CR. Opened by stopping beside her dancing - "Hi, who are you?" <smiles> "I'm Jxxx." Stuck with her and her group of friends for the night, friends were all Filipino and was a group of around 8 of them that all worked at the same restaurant together. Must have posed for 20 or so pictures with her and her friends over the 2 hours.

Bar closes at 2AM, I take her for food which we don't even end up touching back at the Hotel... I probably over-complicated things and could have just taken her right home. She wore strange fake contacts to make her eyes look cat-like. Amazing ass, said the last time she had sex was a year ago with an American military guy. First pull and first lay in Phils.. I try to contact again to see her again, but she isn't replying. A week later in Cebu I realize I have her number set to "screened" and all her texts went to another folder. Shitty Nokia phone, I feel like an asshole, her replies were all positive wanting to see me again.

J on the right dancing in Dance-off
[Image: E3d2xqT.jpg]

I only saw a handful of other foreigners, my last night I went I was the only foreigner. The night I met J a swedish guy earlier introduced me to a couple of cute girls he knew that "weren't hookers, just liked foreigners". Two were at a table with guys that looked a little chubby in their late 30s. A third girl stayed with me and wanted me to join them at their table. I told her I felt weird joining a table without first meeting the guys so I declined.

Other Clubs

Hybrid
I went here once. It had a low ceiling, small groups standing on tables, a strange layout, and not much dance floor to speak of. I didn't stay here long.

Starr
I went here twice, cover is the most expensive at 150-200, I don't remember exactly but it included a drink. Only upstairs ever had people in it but it wasn't big. More foreigners were here, probably because of the cost. Met a cute German girl that was working at some orphanage but 0 logistics since she didn't stay in the city at all. The club is supposed to close later at 3 but I don't think they did either time. Most people in here seemed to know each other. I wouldn't recommend it. You might just be better off trolling late night fast food places nearby.

MTS "Matina Town Square"
Tell taxi "MTS". Live music, lots of seating, lots of choices of restaurants, large range of ages come here. I didn't try to meet anyone here but it would be a good date place.
<edit: video removed for privacy>

Online Dating:
I wish I had tried more here on all the sites I know of now. I got turned off initially after a girl flaked and said she was going to be an hour late 5 minutes before the date. Little would I know this was normal Phil time and wouldn't be the first time it happened...

Minimap
[Image: HJyDmQh.jpg]

TLDR:
Davao is a very laid back city in the Phils. I didn't see many stunners during the day, but some are there, based on pics I've seen of girls online. I think probably more at SM mall and working in nicer hotels and restaurants. My guess is the best looking ones leave for bigger cities and make more money.
If someone is going, I'd push hard pipelining on all the online sites (DIA, FC, Blossoms, PinayLove), and try and pull from E-Vibe on Friday and Saturday.
Don't come here expecting great food. I have heard of good diving here. I looked at Day Tour options for looking at crocodiles or birds and the prices were insane so I passed. The only beach I heard things about was Pearl Farm which is a resort not in Davao City.
If your days are limited in the Phils you might want to consider giving Davao a pass.

Good post. I spent 8 days there. Abreeza Mall is higher end than Gaisano, but if you like young students, Gmall is full of them because there are many colleges in the area.

I stayed at Jun n Dell Apartelle some of the time, but found it a bit isolated from the action. There's a new hotel called Uno near the town centre that is cheap, but I didn't stay there.

For beaches, go to Samal island.

Great Post Rvlefty!

Reading your experience about E-Vibe made me reminiscence my time in Davao. The way you write/think makes me believe we could have gotten along pretty well, too bad we didn't get a chance to meet in SEA.

I'm curious about your experience in Cebu and how you would compare it to Davao. I didn't check out Cebu but would like to next time.

Cebu Report Part 1

Lodgings
I stayed at the Golden Prince Hotel 4 min walk from Ayala mall. I paid 39800 for the month plus a 10k deposit that I think I ended up paying 2500 or so for power+water. Studio with fridge+safe+m/w. No stove, no gym, no pool. Ayala has a gym in it. I couldn't find better for cheaper. Tune nearby had similar price but TINY room with barely anything in it. In a year there are probably going to be a ton of Apartment developments right at Ayala that should offer some nice rental options.

Crossroads Area
Vudu - Waste of time checking out, at 12:30PM on a Friday there were 8 Koreans in a group dancing and one Filipino Couple at a table.
Upstairs to Vudu there was a restolounge with a live band playing. Good place for a date but there was no mingling and people were just sitting/standing staring at the band playing.

Loft IT Park
Went one Friday, looked closed inside, not sure what was going on that night. I went another weekend - the first bar where you enter into had only about 7 or 8 people dancing in front of a DJ, but in the back room it was full of people. People were just huddled around their own groups they came with or stuck to the table they were at.

Mango Square
As other posters coming to Cebu have realized at too, all this really leaves is Mango Square area for decent nightlife (I later go to MO2 about a 20 min drive away, see Part2). Sad, but true. Walking to and from the entrance to JAve from the road you have to walk like you know where you're going... stop for no one. If you want to take a taxi home, you may need to stride past to a taxi in front of the line or be prepared to give some lowlife opening a door some money for 'helping' you or he WILL NOT LEAVE.
Even though Mango/JAve attracts a lot of bottom feeder types, some ladyboys, a ton of koreans, the bar itself does have some redeeming qualities that make it good for pickup: A large dance floor, lots of people every night, many different areas to just chill out if you like. After a while, watching some of the same characters was interesting to see how things played out - how will this Korean react once this naughty girl gives him the final "pitch?", will the super tall front row ladyboy fool any foreign guys tonight? Will these fat foreign girls wearing jerseys meet any guys tonight?

Since leaving, it looks like JAve has started posting photos on their Facebook. Not surprisingly, I'm seeing many of the same faces still around night after night - especially the ladyboys.
https://www.facebook.com/J.avesuperclubm...tos_albums

The following J Ave stories aren't totally in chronological order but take place over a month in Cebu.

First day back
After holy week killing a couple days, I head out to JAve for the first time. It had been about a week and a half not drinking thanks to the relaxed days in Davao. While dancing one girl approaches and straight up grabs my junk. I take her number but never ended up following up since I forgot what she looked like. The same night I meet another girl wearing a red dress that gets shy and pulls back when I try to grind on her. At this point I hadn't paced myself well - drinking too much too fast after not drinking for so long. We go sit outside to talk and I take her number. Can you tell where this story is heading yet?

I meet up with her at Starbucks in Ayalla Mall next day. After a little bit of annoying hide and seek, 'she's' not looking like the same girl at all, especially in shorts and flip flops and a t-shirt. The voice is very obviously a dude. I tell her/him that she's not what I expected and I leave. She gets mad over text eventually saying "I can prove I'm real girl!" I wonder how she planned to do that!

Girl Games
A super hot darker skinned girl with black tights and a super short dress stares me down and I think it's too good to be true so I don't approach. Later when I walk by her friend pulls me in and intros me to her. She tells me she's here for modelling, shows me pictures on her phone, and keeps giving me free drinks. Ok, you're passing the naughty girl tests now...
Tells me she just broke up with her fiance/BF, I call her out on still wearing the huge engagement ring and she says oh I can't just yet... I don't play to win and just get her number.
I meet up with her at a Thai restaurant in Ayalla and when I arrive she is in tears... WTF... says she just had an argument on the phone. So awkward. I nibble on the food she ordered and make small talk. A photographer chick comes to meet her about setting up some photo shoot. They talk a bit and leave together, she pays for everything and refuses when I offer to pay a little.

She is gone for a week on some modelling thing and we don't speak.. when I see her again at J Ave the friend lays a guild trip for coming to JAve and talking with other girls. I don't apologize and just say "well, I'm single..."
I've talked maybe 2 minutes with them that night when they say they're tired and they want to leave. Dark girl says ok you go with my friend, who starts on some story about how her house has no power or water and won't till morning. It makes no sense and I am confused as hell. They start talking about money or taxi and I remember holding out a 500p note I had and the friend taking it.
Anyway the situation was weird as hell, the next day I think it over and maybe they put something in the one drink they gave me that I didn't finish, cause I wasn't that drunk. Anyway I tell her to delete my number because her friend asked for money and the whole situation was just too sketchy. The following weeks I would see them many more times, the hotter one dancing and talking with various guys most of the time.
Later I met a girl on DIA that was one of the "Front Row" girls at JAve, I ask her about the other girl and she says "Yeah lots of people have to deal with her games..."

Who really knows the real story... who cares... After going to JAve as many times as I did, the "Front Row" girls sitting at the tables near the bar at the same tables 75% of the time were easy to recognize...

More Girl Games
Meet a short girl named Rose and her crazy friend. I take her number and the next time I see her at JAve she's ghetto looking wearing shorts and a shirt and kind of expects to pick up where we left off dancing and grinding.
If you are in Cebu and go to JAve for any decent amount of time it's probably likely you're going to run into these girls. Telling some guys they're sisters, telling some they're cousins... there's so much bullshit they even can't keep track of where it starts and ends. Pictures of guys as their phone background... I see the crazy friend on DIA and she used her full name as her profile name. Check on Facebook, she's got a Filipino husband and a kid. Yet is out at JAve day after day... How many dicks have these girls had inside them???
I meet an Australian guy later that had hooked up with Rose, turns out she has 3 kids, didn't ask for money.

The surgeon assistant (Cebu girl 1)
Meet an older girl at JAve. She's a bigger girl with a bit of a belly but I like her freckles, long hair and boobs. She meets me at my hotel lobby the next day and comes upstairs.
She is shy about her body and wants the lights off. Gives me token resistance about how she likes to go for 2 hours so I better perform! I say you will be happy with the 2 minutes I give you!

After we bang she tells me she has super strict parents who forced her into an arranged marriage with a FP guy that's now been annulled. She works as a surgeon assistant in Kuwait but is having an an affair some some married dude there. She has twins and she "Used to be fat". (Hm...used to be??)
She checks her phone and she's got 7 missed calls from her mom. She wasn't kidding about strict! She flew out the next day... I wouldn't have hit it again though.

Apoc Opened
The same day I banged Surgeon Assist I went out later that night. A short haired girl opened me while I was dancing that I hadn't seen ever before. "Do you want to take me home and have sex? I don't want money."
Her breath smells like beer and I don't like her short hair and it seemed too easy. I tell her I just got laid today but I can take her number.
She says that's ok, never mind, annd walks off immediately without further discussion. If she were hotter, I probably would have gone for it. I never saw her again, maybe just in town for a day.

Tall red dress
See her at bar checking me out, later when I'm dancing she backs into me as an obvious invitation. I talk to her and go back to a table where she has a friend. She tells me she used to be a model.. getting yellow light on physical contact... I go outside with Red and her friend. The friend is being a good wing like "go with him" "you guys look good together" but Red doesn't seem down. I tell her it's fine I don't care either way just give me your number.

I meet her at a mall 8 days later. She says she saw me on DIA but uses a fake pic and some guy she met one time got pissed. She uses a pic of her ex-classmate (lol). She was supposed to meet her friend at the mall too, who comes much later.
Once the friend is there Red all of a sudden starts being affectionate, trying to touch me, but it just seems fake. I'm not feeling them and tell them I'm going home. Friend is being a good wing again "You not taking her home?" Nope.

I have a job
See a girl with huge boobs dancing and drinking, I approach. After some small talk I run through naughty girl tests:
"What do you do here in Cebu?"
"Oh I'm working"
"Ah cool yeah I work part time online. Where do you work?"
"... oh I work near SM mall"
(slightly annoyed) "...where do you work near SM."
"At Las Vegas KTV."
Ah. I tell her my rap that I like her but don't pay.. it's not as refined as some more regular shorers have down, and she immediately gets disinterested and leaves.

Twilight girl (Cebu girl 2)
Standard dance pickup, she says she took a bus here from 2 hours away with her friend who already left with a guy. Says the bus back home doesn't leave until morning. "So where are you going to stay?" ".. can I stay with you?"
I take her home, we mess around a little that night and again in the morning. When she goes to take a shower there is water everywhere on the floor even though I have a shower curtain and a mat.

During pillow talk, she asks completely seriously... "I have a question...Are vampires real?" Ummmm.... "Uh, there may be strange people out there that drink blood, but no there are no such thing as vampires..."
She asks if I have any sardines. Nope, but she devours a cup noodle, an apple, and eats 2 tuns sandwiches from my fridge. Damn this girl can eat. After she gets ready to go she kind of hesitates and sits down on the bed. She asks for money for a taxi. I was kind of surprised but it kind of made sense thinking of it after. This is a poor girl probably with no job that's hoping maybe to meet a guy to pay her. I tell her I didn't feel comfortable doing that, I gave her 150p in small bills I had. She had a huge breakfast, a warm bed and hot shower and met a cool guy who didn't promise her anything for her to be with him. I would feel worse giving her more.

Continued in Part 2...

@20Nation - b/c you had compared several locations, there is a treasure of information through this thread concerning your personal experiences and those of others that I have been researching into through this thread and related threads and making comparisons to several of the locations that you and others described herein.

I am considering traveling from USA - LA international airport to one of the hub airports, such as HK or BKK, and then from there purchasing and getting a local flight to either Manila, Cebu or Davao to start a trip. Does it seem practical to book only the flight to the hub location and then to just purchase the flight to the Philippines on the spot at the airport (to get a cheaper flight)?

Then, it seems that several of the members on this forum may not be in the habit of booking their hotels ahead of time, and when arriving they seem to book for maybe one or two days and then search for a better deal longer term arrangement, whether that be lodging for a week or a month.. or sometimes longer. Then bounce from one city to another in these one week or one month intervals. That seems to be a good way to see various areas and also to maybe save money on the hotel rates.

I think that, in spite of the multiple negative food posts about the Philippines, there do seem to be food options by eating out and even good priced seafood options in eating out. However, I was thinking that my travel to the Phils may be six months or maybe a little further into the future but I was thinking that it may be a good idea to set up base in one location for a month or so, and then hire a cook / cleaner come to my hotel or apartment about twice a week. This cleaning lady/cook would not be anyone that i would attempt to or want to bang (and hopefully trustworthy but not very good looking), and to keep a business relationship with her, maybe pay her 800 pesos or less for the day (there may be some variation in the rate depending on the area of the phils and/or the talent pool of the labor market), and then as part of the deal she would have to go shop for and buy the ingredients for the food (of course I would reimburse her - maybe the first time shopping i would go with her.. not sure about that) (and she would need to assert on her resume (if such exists) that she is a good cook). Maybe a traveler will get better quality food that way (if it is not too much of a hassle dealing with a cook/cleaner in that regard), and maybe it would not be very expensive in the whole scheme of things to create such an arrangement? Did anyone try something like this in the Phils in any of the 20Nation locations?

JJG,
To purchase cheap international flights within Asia, Air Asia is your best friend. You can get in most cases, an international flight for the cost of a pizza in the US/Canada. As a matter of fact, I paid 20 bucks from HKG to Clark, 2 hours outside of Manila in the Phils. That was for 1 way. Return was about 50 bucks.

VP Thanks for your response. Generally, would you book your asian air flight from HK to Clark after you arrived at the HK airport?

I didn't fly in that way and my round trip ticket to manila was about 1050 from Salt Lake City. So if you are spending less for both ways then its a good call.

I always booked a hotel for a day or two ahead of time when going to a new place. It gives stability when you arrive. The reason you don't want to book for longer is in case you don't like the location or something about the hotel. There are monthly rentals though that will save you money. That is the main reason people stay in a place for about a month, because its the cheapest way to bounce around.

THC and I were actually planning something that included a maid and cook. Philippines has some of the cheapest service costs in the world, cooking and cleaning included. Every place I stayed in asia though I had somebody cleaning for me.

The problem you might run into hiring a maid and cook is that you are only staying for a month. It will be harder to find jumping from place to place and a temporary 1 month job is not something many maids would like I'm sure. But it is definitely doable i have met other foreigners who have done it.

Why do you actually think girls in the Philippines are so easy? They seem like no work at all!

Is it that they are expecting money if they sleep with you?
Is it that they just enjoy sex a lot and are very horny?
Is it the exotic factor of being a foreigner?
Is it that they want to have sex with a guy with a bigger penis?
Is it that they want to be in an air conditioned room?
Do they hope you will get them pregnant and have to live with them/marry them?
Is it that they are 'wannabe Americans'?

I've read through a lot of the threads on this forum concerning the opinions of various RVF members regarding various parts of SEA (and there are several very informative threads regarding the Phils - and fairly easy to do a search on "Philippines" or some similar key word), and it seems that your various questions have been hypothesized in several ways within various contexts by several RVF members in other threads.

Tony, Are you planning on going to the Phils?
Do you have any of your own hypotheses about the answers to your questions?

I am not saying that your questions are bad necessarily, but there are a lot of them... On the other hand, possibly some RVF member(s) may be willing to focus on some of these ideas in response to those several questions?

Personally, i am planning to travel to SEA - probably six months or so into the future, so I have been considering some of the ideas of your questions, as well, and I have developed some of my own hypotheses about some answers regarding that subject of what motivates pinays, which, at this point, my thinking is fairly speculative (based on some of my readings of other threads and my dealing with pinays (and other Asians) in the USA and by comparing and contrasting some of my other world travels), without having had traveled yet to SEA parts, yet.

It's a combination of a lot of things
-white skin is seen as more attractive.
-they all watch american tv and have had crushes on actors but because philippines has such low tourism most have never got a chance to meet a white guy.
- they are a poor country and money is a dhv, even for non gold diggers. If you are from a western country and can afford to travel you are rich compared to them
- some may see you as a ticket out of the philippines
- just like some white girls go after black dudes for big dicks, some asian women go after white guys for big dicks
- they are sort of a wannabe american country
- women are naturally attracted to height, and an average sized western guy is seen as very tall in Phil
- some women want a half white, tall baby. Because a lot of half white guys are phil movie stars, famous singers, or basketball stars
- exotic factor is also high thanks to low tourism

It's never just one thing, and these are the reasons a white guy will do will very well, and even asians and at times black guys.

As far as Filipno girls and banging goes. A lot of them had only been with one or two guys and only had sex a few times (plus I banged 2 virgins) When I asked why alot of them pretty much said cause they dont have a lot of opportunities to bang cause of logistics. A lot of the Filipinos live like a big family or 2 or 3 to a house. They dont have a lot of young single friends with their own pad. So just having a private room already put you ahead of the crowd.

It was silly easy to get lays there.... I doubt theres any where else in the world where its as easy for a American or White guy to get bangs. I would love to find somewhere with the Philippines cheapness of living, widely spoken english, and ease of banging girls... but with hotter girls... (not that theres not hot girls in the Phils, I wasn't disappointed) I just preffer big asses and wide hips and its not the most common thing amongst those small Asian bodies.

After spending 1.5 years in Thailand I would say that Thai girls only sleep with white guys because they want to sleep in an air conditioned room, they need taxi money to get back to their village, they need a free meal so they can eat (it's why they are so skinny, Thai girls only get fed if they fuck a farang), and they want to get pregnant and move to America.

Probably the same in the Philippines.

+1 with 20Nation's reply.

Also, they seem to be very naive when it comes to feelings and emotions. Thinking they're in love when it's just nature playing tricks on their brain.
There are a lot of cheesy dramas on TV which add to the thought that they can't be happy until they're in love and with somebody.
A lot may see the kind of life their friend/cousin/sister is having living with a foreigner and they want the same for themselves.

Bonus humorous pic - signed up for okcupid for while I'm in Korea - they send you a "compatibility map" based on the questions you answer.

yo

Attention Philippines experts

Though I have never been to the Philippines and probably won't go there anytime soon, yesterday I added a girl on Facebook who I met from OkCupid in London. Turns out she works as a model both in London and back home at a place called "Palladium" in Manila.

I can confirm my surprise at how hot the girls were at this venue in her pics, although she told me they were all models. Has anyone from this forum been to this place? Guys looked out of their league, girls were stunning.
