Is the travel section dying?

I understand the fear of exotic/foreigner value someday going away, and I kind of felt that when I was in Brazil this time around, but here me out on something that may sound absolutely crazy to you:

You don't need to depend on foreign/exotic value to get laid abroad

Sounds crazy, right?

There is something I call Universal Hotness

So, what is Universal Hotness?

It's the idea that, instead of relying on your exotic factor, you just become the best version of yourself, physically speaking, and you will be able to bang women anywhere in the world.

Because, if you think about it, a hot guy is a hot guy to a woman. In the end of the day, exotic factor (i.e. looking different) is one way of being "hot". But another, more universal approach, is just to genuinely develop yourself as much as you can physically. If you can just manage to be a physically attractive dude (or high SMV, value, high game, etc etc), you will be able to bang girls from any country that you choose to go to instead of restricting yourself to these pussy paradises

My end goal is to be able to travel anywhere I want and bang whoever I want - not the other way around . If you are an attractive dude with game, you can go anywhere in the world - whether it be France, US, Ukraine, etc - and you will get attention from women and you will be the chooser - not the chosen

Think about it: do you really want to spend your entire life researching for a pussy paradise or live in some 3rd world shithole because it's a pussy paradise? Or would you be willing to develop yourself, physically, and be able to live wherever you want with a harem of pussy?

You make the calls.

Here is the thing.

Whether you like it or not, globalization is not going away. If anything, it will only accelerate.

This means that EVERYTHING is becoming more competitive.

Before you competed with people in your town.
Then your county.
Then your state.
Then your country.

Now you are competing with everyone, everywhere across the world.

This goes for money, girls, everything.

If you don't keep up, Punjab is taking your job.
If you don't keep up, Dubai Prince is sliding in your girls DM and shitting in her mouth.

I'm assuming in 10-15 years when places like Southeast Asia are pretty caught up, dudes will no longer be able to fly to the Philippines, etc. and get laid just based on the color of their skin/not being 3rd world.

This has already happened to varying extents in North Asia (China, Korea, Japan), FSU, South America, etc.

Maybe you'll have to go to Africa next.

WKR I'm very skeptical about all of SEA catching up anytime soon. I'll give you Thailand may very well get away from sex tourism more next generation, but places like Indonesia, the Philippines, and Cambodia are still a long way off. Even Vietnam is still a bit behind. It's been called the Thailand of about a decade or two ago.

Nevertheless, I do agree about your opinion of globalism and what's been said earlier about social media and travel blogs being bigger factors than individual guys like us. I'd say guys like us have had a bigger impact on EE, where population is smaller.

Trust me though, I have an advantage of being newer in the international girl game to see clearly that despite places like SEA dropping down from what they were before social media, it's still so superior to my options in the US it's ridiculous. Attitudes are still very friendly compared to the West even with globalism.

To comment on the overall thread topic, I'll openly say guys are containing info from lurkers. We're all a bit paranoid about all the dating/sex info in certain cities and countries out there, so I think the result is vets have overestimated how much their individual information shared has impacted this. In reality, it takes a large group in countries that normally offer more convenience with a better reputation.

For example, guys like Irish, Fisto, and 20 have shared plenty of Jakarta info, yet based on hearsay, Jakarta sounds like it's been relatively unaffected by the easier accessed information compared to cities like Bangkok. Want to know why? It's because Bangkok is more convenient to live in.

Convenience of cities can't be underestimated. You guys have to remember we were not the only travel group growing in the last decade. The normie backpacker and digital nomad culture has grown tremendously. I work remotely for one company that other nomads use to work abroad. Being part of a social media group where they share travel cities, it has allowed me to get an idea of what normie nomads look for.

They like convenient and cheap cities with strong internet. The truth is certain places have stepped their game up. Medallin has become a big nomad hub, all of Thailand has been invaded in SEA, more nomads are going into all parts of Vietnam, Bali is infested with nomads, plus even parts of EE are growing in this.

Places they don't go to as much are the Philippines, Jakarta, Dominican Republic, or Africa. Why? Because costs, convenience, internet, and lifestyle are not as competitive.

Newer members, when I started a year ago here, I had nothing. No reps, no contacts. Just motivation from stories of guys on here killing it abroad. I lurked for months, gained an idea of what the culture was like here, chose my early posts carefully to respect my place on the totem pole here in the beginning, then took the plunge to the Philippines. My conservatism and patience paid off, as the guys here in the Philippines took me in like one of their own and from there that opened the door for more reps, contacts, and information.

Just be respectful and prove that you have a good attitude for this culture. I asked questions a lot, but I also tried to give whatever information I could offer, like sharing some Philippines experiences then helping other members that wanted to go.

The travel section is not dying. It's just more tight knit than it once was because a lot of main cities have been covered already. Enough for a rookie traveler like I once was to pick and try out, then maybe build connects.

As far back as I could remember, I always wanted to be a player.

It's dying because the effort to travel / move to distant places and eventually somewhat integrate if one is to move permanently is huge for ever diminishing returns.

When even 3rd world proper is played out in terms of positive attitudes, ease and even cost for first world standards, guys might as well just stay home and grind out their 20s in an economy that is generally pretty tough for millennials.

By 30 pretty much anyone has a good shot if he built some assets and status although a decade of low to no poon might seriously mess with your head.

I foresee things getting even worse as prime destinations like Tokyo get flooded with more and more rowdy foreigners to a point where no locals want anything to do with you anymore.

The proliferation of smartphones and the internet, along with general game knowledge is rapidly changing the world as we know it. This means increased competition and also increased rewards. This is not just limited to game and goes to career wise (English Teachers have to be competent in some places now, not just get a job cause your white), education wise (every kid in the US is studying now for the SATs). Eddie you sound like a butthurt guy cause all the "guys with good game" are coming over and taking away "your pussy paradise".

Perhaps this is a chance for you to improve your own SMV and learn to compete.

You are right, all of the above is a factor. Globalization would happen anyway. That said, when I found dateinasia in 2011 and saw how girls responded to me, I didn't think "wow, Filipinas really love white cock!" I had seen that Filipinas in Sydney are exceptionally difficult to bed, which means easy pinays is a matter of supply and demand, of novelty and scarcity... not of being white.

So my first impulse was not starting a blog about it or posting about it on a forum that gets millions of views. I'm actually not sure why anyone would do that... other than the excitement at having found something incredible of course... and from the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaketh. I get that. It's not improving the situation on the ground, though.

I'm not even against this community at all, by the way. I think it's great to have a forum where like minded guys share tips about places like this. Most my friends here are guys I met on internet marketing forums and game forums. I just think it should be private and/or behind a paywall. Fellow travelers will share tips and that is good for everyone.

But telling millions of Toms Dicks and Harrys about it on Google just doesn't make sense. It only empowers the local girls, not us... girls who are gradually starting to have this gold-plated pussy "my shit don't stink" attitude that we know so well from the West, because they're simply getting way too much attention.

Also, I'm not butthurt. But I'll say this... I was butthurt when this mass blogging and forum posting started. That is also the year the great decline began. In 2013, the only way to describe dateinasia was still "pussy tsunami" And I'm talking about some real stunners. In 2015 it was already "meh".

The blogosphere really started spreading the word in 2014. Maybe that's just a coincidence. I have my doubts... cause when I was living in Cebu for several years, I actually got cold approached (!) by white dudes who wanted to pick my brain about Cebu and who had read about it on RVF.

Life has its sense of humor that is not without irony. In the 2000s I got my game in tip top form. I was even teaching in-field bootcamps and writing for big dating advice sites. Then I found Asia and it all seemed like a waste. I got to experience what reality is like for a handsome guy back West: all girls just want you anyway, and all you have to do is be nice, escalate and not fuck it up. No actual game required

(Btw LOL @ Baptistao's comment "Asia is still good if you're good looking"... yeah duh, so is anywhere).

I'm now in the process of re-learning my game which has gathered its share of dust and rust, because for the longest time it was simply not required here. I'm also hitting the gym more, because the places that were once pussy paradise are starting to become more competitive. Ruined, in other words... at least compared to what they once were.

Fine, I know what to do. I spent an entire decade doing real pickup in competitive environments, so I'll be okay. Still seems like a waste to ruin a good thing though. I'm just glad I came here before 2014 and got to see what it once was.

And I stand by my point: These traveling pickup forums are great. But they belong on private boards and/or behind paywalls, not on the front page of friggin Google where millions of men see them. Just a thought. [Image: idea.gif]

I read some of your other posts btw Putin on the Philippines thread and thought they were quite insightful. I'm not trying to start an argument. I'm just sharing my perspective from 2 decades of living in these places, as an expat, not a tourist, and the changes I have observed over the years.

My best to you all,

You're still putting far too much blame on the forum. The numbers just don't work out, as I posted in my last post. There are 8,000 odd threads on this forum, and only the top 50 have over 200,000 views. Average-to-popular threads get more like 40 replies, and 25,000 views. And thats over years and years. Thats not enough to put any sort of dent in a reasonable sized city or country's dating market.

Globalization has probably been the #1 factor in a 'decline', as other replies have mentioned. But it if you've been going to the Phils for two decades then you've also aged 20 years while doing so. If you were originally a man in your 20s, and now you're a man in your 40s (or older...) gaming young women is obviously going to get exponentially harder. Especially so if you've let your game, attraction and fitness levels decay as you indicate. How many women, in any country, are going to be attracted to an unfit middle aged man with no game? Your deterioration in attractiveness likely has far more to do with your decline in success than anything else.

Get in good shape, start dressing well, and get your game practiced. Any man who's not facially deformed, or abnormally short, can become a male '8' if they spend a year working out properly, spend $1000 on fashionable clothes, and have tight game. And '8's get laid most places in the world that aren't exceptionally conservative, like Riyadh, or exceptionally lacking in targets, like rural Ohio.

Not this forum, but all blogs and forums combined, yes. And it's not even about blame. It's just that this "I found a good thing that's good only for one reason: nobody knows about it... so I'm gonna tell millions of people about it that I don't even know" just doesn't make any sense. It's not logical.

The Philippines thread gets 400k views a year. Again, taking a likely way-higher-than average views-into-visitors ratio of 50%, that would be 200k visitors to the entire country of the Philippines pear year, inspired by this forum. Or about 500 a day. The Philippines has a population of 50 million women. Do you really think having 500 extra men there, spread across the country, on any given day, will suddenly ruin it as a country?
I think your estimate is way too high on the number of people who come to the Philippines because of this thread, per day. It's bound to be a high number though, with 2 million views.

On the other hand, your estimates of date-able girls in the country is also way too high. 50 million women, how many in the Makati area, how many in Cebu, where 95% of people go? And don't say "you can still go to second and third tier cities"... those are real shit holes here, and only suitable for a holiday... horrible internet, noise, pollution, people burning plastic everywhere, children and roosters screaming, and small populations i.e. no real abundance anyway. Also jealous boy-friends, small communities with gossip and so forth. The gold was in Makati, and Cebu.

Makati is small. Cebu is small. BGC is small. And of the women that are even in these places, how many are young? How many are hot? How many are single?

Anyway, all this math is mental masturbation. We don't need to theorize. We just need to fire up the dating sites and compare with what they were like a few years ago. Hell, I see posts from guys who went to Philippines recently and say oh it's a lot worse than one year ago. If they notice that decline in such a short period of time...

Lol... people who can read have an INCREDIBLE advantage in life, you know. I had already written in this thread that I was here 7 years ago, not 20, and that I'm in my late 30s now.

That has nothing to do with the situation whatsoever because I tested my old profile from 7 years ago again this year, with the same picture, age and text that I used back then. So, that is a scientific A/B test. Same profile posted in 2011 and 2018. Completely different responses... Night and day. Honestly I'm shocked.

I will preface this post by saying I'm a little fucked up right now

I didn't read the posts after mine cuz they're a bit long for me to read right now

But it is all relative

I agree with Eddie guy cuz even if Phils, etc. are easy as fuck right now compared to USA, etc. it's a shadow of what it used to be

I know what I'm doing so I don't need to worry about this shit as much (not the type of n*gga that needs to book a flight to 3rd world shithole to get some ass) but e.g. when I hear stories from older Korean-Americans, etc. of how easy Korea used to be, it's kind of absurd

Some people compare Korea even just 10-15 years ago to Philippines, etc. now, which is insane cuz I know most guys on here/most guys that go to Korea are getting barely any action, if at all

You either accept that go to 3rd world country/swipe Tinder, etc. is dying and adapt or get fucked. Plain and simple

I would guess the majority of guys on here either depend mostly on dating apps to get laid or have little to no game anyway. Sure a few extra guys might not help with nightgame but it won't make that much of a difference when they are spread over the span of a year. And if you are a good daygamer you have nothing really to worry about IMO, that's always going to be decent anywhere. Even the nightgamers, if they are doing the backpacking route and staying at hostels, don't end up talking to locals; they settle with some average backpacker chick. The whole month I was in Tallinn I didn't see really any backpackers hit on locals, they'd all be fighting over the pair of British 6.5's.

I like providing value on this forum in the hopes that others do as well. Not to be too cocky, but I know I'm going to have better game than 95% of the guys coming to the cities as a result of any datasheet I post, and the top 5% will just end up being a damn good wingman if we do end up in the same place.

And if you are worried about girls going on Instagram and shit like that, then play into that and create a good instagram. In the last few days I had a completely random german girl hit me up on IG and offer to show me around Cologne when I'm there and a girl at a bar in Toronto come up to me and tell me she follows me on IG.. we proceed to set up a date for Friday when she realized she interrupting me and another girl. Sure you lose some girls to the celebrity of instagram, but you also can gain a ton of value yourself doing the exact same thing.

The travel section should be made private somehow, only because it's constantly becoming a toxic environment due to turbo autists shitting it up. It just seems a lot worse now then it was a couple years ago.

Regarding locations declining, I actually believe this forum plus other similar sites have had a significant impact and led to some of the recent struggles some men are talking about in Manila and Cebu (this pattern also played out in Thailand and other places). Realistically these guys all rely on standard online game, and that's where the problems stem from. It doesn't take a huge influx of men to cause a disruption when the dating pool is a tiny fraction of the entire population. A thousand foreign players in one year swiping tinder in a Makati will change the game for everyone using tinder.

Night game is similarly effected, some guys just show up to the place they read about online, fail and complain, and some guys adapt, bring their A-game and find unspoiled locations.

As someone already said, daygamers should be unaffected by the issues other men have in the same cities because of the amount of women they can interact with.

We also completely ignore other types of specialized game that have proven incredible effective in the west when we talk about game in the travel section. Photographer/artist/musician game anyone?

If you're unwilling to diversify your approach, when your only approach is fishing in the same overfished pond every other dude is fishing in, your complaints can't be taken seriously.

I have no sympathy for men unwilling to adapt or improve.

Work out.
Learn how to dress.
Learn how to groom yourself.
Eat better.
Step out of your comfort zone.
Try a new approach.
Be the best version of what God gave you.

And if you can't do it on your own, that's why we are all here, to help each other succeed.

Maybe there is a tradeoff, but you can get information on where the best places are, and if you go to the smaller cities, there is still significant foreigner effect. But sometimes I think its less about the foreigner effect and more about how hot the women are. And when you like the girls, all the other stuff comes into place - the smoothness, the hustle, the gym.

Real game is knowing no matter where you go in this life, you'll never be alone.

Many people on the forum have been telling the newer guys over and over, stop running game and instead hit the gym, become a masculine man, and say exactly what you want without manipulation.

Those who heed this advice will never have a problem. It doesn't matter if they go to Kiev, Bogota, or Cebu. The world has changed. We have less masculinity and more men who talk fast and bullshit hard. Women have changed also, but subconsciously they will always want children and they will always cling to the most masculine man to ensure the families survival.

The travel forum shouldn't be private. Think of all the amazing friends we have met from the forum; that never would of happened if it was private because most of us don't visit this site to discuss politics or current events.

And yeah, the days of banging 30 mediocre women a month might be over. But the days of meeting one really hot girl, with a big ass, who makes you happy and calls you 'papi', are still alive and thriving.

Couldn't agree more...

I can see an American 7 standing with her legs spread out, an off-putting look on her face, talking in a loud voice, with her stiff-wristed hands planted firmly on a table, and I'm just not attracted at all. I used to think it was me, that I wasn't mustering the courage.

Then sometimes I visit parts of the U.S. that have foreign-born women. I see the foreign-born 7 standing with her legs crossed, with a pleasant smile on her face, talking with a feminine voice, her wrists moving like a melody, and I start chatting with her about anything at all, with no hesitation.

When you're truly attracted to someone, you can't help but make a move.

The thing in America is that guys use a 1 to 10 scale that only takes into account looks, and then they wonder why they can't wait to get away from their supposedly hot wife/girlfriend.

It's because there's another 1 to 10 scale, that's composed of values, of kindness, of femininity. You get a girl that's a 10 on that scale and attractive enough to get you going and you're in heaven. That scale, it's never talked about, so you've got a generation of fatherless men who can't tell the difference between a slut and a girl worth investing time into.

Many guys here in America will give some porn star a 10. It's absurd. That's a hooker. She's a 1 on the values scale. Can't be any higher than a 5 when you average out the two, and you're drooling over her? Over a 5?

No.

These are painful lessons if you have to learn them from experience. A lot of guys have a real shit-hole of a life coming to them.

To respond to the OP. Most guys will share generic information, but detailed information will NEVER be given out.

I won't speak on any venues I frequent or what I specifically do on the forum publicly as this isn't 2008 where travel was more of a niche thing and with far less lurkers.

Now that this place is on the radar the best info I know will go to guys I personally know.

Meet members. Provide value. And you'll get it in turn. No free riding especially when autists will show up at some of my favorite venues.

I've already had one place ruined by publicly posting about it here. Hell I saw it happen first hand seeing autists literally chasing girls out of my casual hangout. And over my dead body will I let more get ruined.

The travel section isn't dying, it just got demoted by natural circumstance.
5-8 years ago not so many guys were red pilled or had traveled outside the west so it was a lot more interesting.

Today, more guys are red pilled and have spent time in SA, SEA, EE. The result of more widespread red-pilling and men becoming more worldly has resulted in a paradigm shift that culminated in Trump's election. Travel is still interesting but geo-politics and social issues take on a whole new meaning once a man becomes red-pilled and more worldly. Travel is just one ingredient in broadening an man's horizon and giving him a new perspective.

And i dont mean players but those type of males that throw their money around to make a point to local sluts or gold diggers...

It is a shame.

Globalism is destroying every single local culture.

It's been like that for a decade, Middle Eastern tourists have been coming to the Ukraine and other countries and banging the girls. It's not just about the guys on the RVF or Western guys. That's not the problem. Philippines get the majority of horny guys from Korea, Malaysia, the Middle East, India, etc. Wait until China starts dumping their load there too. There are hordes or horny guys from "shit-hole" countries sending these girls in these once poosy paradises money and they've never even met them. Sponsoring them just for the chance to chat with them online! For every one guy that shows up in a poosy paradise, there are 100 more sending them money. This is what kills poosy paradises!

If one considers Middle Eastern sex tourists to be competition for him then one should take a good, long look in the mirror. Because then problem for sure ain't the Middle Eastern guys in that case.

For every year that the situation gets worse you have a year where you can improve your looks, finances and social skills. Simple math dictates that if your growth rate outpaces the growth rate of the perceived horny Arabs and Asian guys then you should actually be golden in a few years. If not - again: I don't think they're the problem.

As far as I've understood the term "pussy paradise" is only a euphemism for "being able to fuck as many women as possible with the minimal amount of (any kind of) investment and largely irrespective of their quality". That's probably why I disregard when it's thrown around and I'm sure I'm not the only one.

As for the topic:

I've no problem sharing good spots or intel about my city. Knowledge is one thing, implementation something entirely different. Same like in business. What has been dragging the section down is the amount of nonsensical BS posts with no added value such as: help me find XYZ, where can I find XYZ, why is XYZ suchandsuch,...

No one gives even one F about that. Use the damn search function.

If you bother to post trip reports with stories how to get laid make sure they're readable and fun. People like good stories, even if they are pointless. Otherwise don't bother with telling the world how much of a "pussy paradise" the place was. No one gives one F about that.

Personally I also find the overtheorization of this whole topic quite amusing. It's talking to girls for god's sake. Most of the nights good game consists of getting hammered like a sailor and splurting out whatever BS comes to your mind. KISS.

Then again, the entire section and forum is only a cross section of the population as a whole, so statistically you're bound to have 20% of the guys who are killing it and the rest who...well, who are not.

Is the travel section dying?

The original question was "Is the travel Section Dying?" Most of the posts in this thread were discussing if the travel section has caused the demise of poosy paradises. The OP, said he's been following for 10 years, and thought the Travel section was dying. I've been on the RVF for 7 years, and the percentage of Travel posts to total posts on the Forum has declined greatly. When I joined in 2011 about 50% of the posts were Travel and 50% Game. Some contributors who have been on longer may even have a better memory than me, so may have better statistics. Currently of of the 140 threads active today only 22 are Travel related, so about 16%. The percentage of travel has declined, but 7 years ago there was no "Return of Kings" and Roosh was traveling and Gaming and that is what the discussions on the Forum were about. So I'm not sure if travel has declined, or has the number of other topics has just increased to where it appears travel has declined. Roosh I'm sure has the statistics for the last decade of the Forum. and could thus give us an more accurate idea. Numbers never tell the whole story anyway. Quality of posts is the most important.

Is the travel section dying?

I lurked for a long time before becoming a member. It does seem to me that there has been a drop off in the travel section. I used to lurk travel more than anywhere else in the forum.

But the obvious answer could simply be, there are only so many places to go (or worth going for RVF members). Many of the hottest spots in Europe, Asia, and the Americas have been covered. They have threads going on for many, many pages.

I could see a minor resurgence in original destination content if that part of the forum was made private. I will be honest. There are a few nth tier places that I have found to give a quite good ROI for many thing (but specifically women). However, i won't ever be mentioning them on the forum, because they have small populations. With modern travel, you can get anywhere on the planet quickly and at a reasonable cost. Revealing my personal paradises on the forum could (I think) lead to their "destruction" as it would only take a few stag dos or one guy trying to set up a bootcamp or something to kill the place.

I don't think it is totally unrealistic to assume that RVF has a fairly wide reach - well beyond just the members. And I have to go with the math on this one. If a town only has 5-6k passable women between 18-28, spammy no-real-game PUAs can tank that demographic pretty quickly. I've seen it happen on a college campus. I have no doubt it could happen in a smaller city.

Currently out of office.
