Some dude named David Bond or David Campbell, has videos of him picking up Asian girls in Taiwan, Korea, Vietnam, Japan, and HK. Kissing, bathing, etc. at it has made national news in China. It's all over Weibo and QQ.

The kid is half Asian allegedly, but since he is an American, all the commenters are calling him a laowai (foreigner) anyway. The major disses are about how disgusting he is, how ugly his girls are, etc.

I hate seeing stuff like this and it will only get worse. I bet some of you think this shit is funny or cool, but trying living or traveling in Asia for any length of time before you think this is funny. It almost always has a negative effect that affects every foreigner there, especially in China, Taiwan, Korea, and sometimes Japan. Bad foreigners fuck it up for everyone.

It's honestly just a matter of time before enough foreigners cause enough problems to affect the whole place. Badwolf and quite a few others in the past has called it. I have been kinda on the fence on that. The fact they are showing a PUA guy on the news is not good at all though. If you guys see or know people RVF members or not, in Asia doing shit like this, talk to them. If you get nowhere, shit let me talk to them! This kind of shit might fly in the West or Europe, but in East Asia, you have to be more low key about this kind of shit than this.

What interesting about this guy is that on Happier Abroad, there was a struggling kid there who went by David that was half Chinese/white American, that eventually went to Asia. He used to be PUAhate/MGTOWish but stepped his game up a great deal a couple years ago or so. Vancancier Permanent might know who I am talking about. The only problem with that theory is that the age of this guy is like 27, but that guy is younger if he was ever telling the truth about his age online. I dunno. If you guys know this guy or if he posts here, he needs to realize what he has just done.

I don't think this is going to have an effect. Foreigners have been going to/living in these places in large numbers for 20+ years now, and there's been more than a few F'd up characters over the years.

This stuff gets attention for a little while then dies off. Not everyone sees the story, or cares. It'll take more than that to change an entire nation's attitude.

Even in places that have general bias against Americans all is not lost, it still comes down to you as an individual. I've been to places that look skeptically on white Westerners, and once I break the ice it's not difficult to win them over. How you act, how you look, how you speak, these things will be the major determiner of how you're treated in a given country. The guy in the story is an outlier, it's not difficult for people to determine that not all Americans are like that, once they meet you.

When I see guys like this I automatically want to look around and yell "Not all westerners are like that! Not a true westerner!"

But he is. A few weeks ago it was in the news here that a group of tourists were sitting in the windows of a taxi, drinking beer on the roof while they drove around the city. The longer I'm here, the more it seems like a majority of visitors to Asian countries view these places and people as personal playgrounds and toys they can use to their hearts' content for a few weeks and go home.

People like us are the ones who have to deal with the fallout. But as long as planes are flying, these people will keep coming.

That may be true for say, the Philippines, but in China for example, they tend run with this shit for a while. I hope it dies down too, for everyone's sake, but it will not take many dudes doing this to ruin the whole region. The old Manosphere guys pine over how cool Brazil used to be years ago, but it is hard to understand (for me at least). I did not think they were lying to me, but at the time it was hard to understand how a bunch of thirsty fucks could make talking to girls harder, but if you could read the comments and see the amount of rotation it is getting, there will be some effect. I can easily see some lasting damage. I will agree that one guy wont ruin the place by himself, but add a few copycats and maybe they can.

Chinese people still talk about the famous movie celeb (I forgot his name) and how all his personal home videos of him fucking girls (some famous) got out. This happened several years ago. Anyone that knows China, knows that whatever bad shit a local can does, you better not even think about doing it as a foreigner. Even if you just merely get deported others may get treated poorly outside by mobs. Also, to my knowledge I do not recall any Americans doing this in the past and getting this much attention for it. If he did, he must have had very limited viewers or exposure and it did not go viral.

What kind of loser publicizes his exploits like that? It's like some kind of desperate attempt for validation from the world. Maybe it's more he's a child than being thirsty?

This happens everywhere eventually, and it's not always or only because of Americans/Westerners overloading it and 'ruining it'- Whether people like to admit it or not, economics plays a huge part. Brazil used to be far more poor than it is now. Brazilians are now earning decent money, women are working, liberal politics ..all of these things have made a Brazilian girl less likely to seek out an American or view him in a special status. It's not because of too many Western guys running game. Things change over time, from a variety of factors.

Look at the rumblings about Poland, Ukraine and other places not being as good as just 2-3 years ago. It's not because of Western visitors, it's economics and liberal social policies, which enables women to throw aside the idea of finding a man, and go work in an office instead. Kinda hard to explain why stuff like this would make the news. You would have to get a crash course in China to really understand why they like to poke at shit like this. "Kiss and Tell" behavior is 100% a Western thing. They cannot understand why anyone would want to behave like that (Asians). They also like to pounce on any dumb thing any foreigner does. The CCP encourages it too because they could easily shut down the news in a second.

There is a reason why on sites like Beijing Cream or Chinasmack, the concept of a "Bad Laowai" as a news tag exists. Any brazenly bad behavior by foreigners is going to get called out or reported in the news. Any rapes, fights, crimes, drugs, mob justice beat downs on said laowai for starting a fight, etc.

agree on the aspect of Brazil. The decline is definitely not due to westerners ruining the game. I mean Brazil has been an open country for foreigners since decades, amount of foreigners going there most likely did not jump much at all. On the other hand, in America, there will be now more minority than majority whites in years to come.

Everyone knows this stuff going on especially in big cities, especially the girls into foreigners in these countries. I agree, no effect. Although I can't speak about China I have been to several other Asian countries. Americans, Westerners and all manner of foreigners have been coming to Asia for hundreds of years and there have always been the ones that say "oh no please will all the other Americans be quiet, you will ruin it for me." Horseshit. Niether you nor them nor thousands of others matter all that much. Asia will be Asia. All this news clip will do is help. A bunch of girls will want the excitement shown here.

I am offering what they think they want, foreign excitement. I will literally "broaden" their world.

As has been pointed out, his story is pretty old. I disagree with the notion that stories like these have "no effect". Yes, the kind of 5s that people like David are fucking will continue to be foreigner-chasing sluts no matter what - because they're not wanted by local guys. But if you take the time to read some of the Facebook comments by locals on these stories revolving around foreigners e.g. on Apple Daily (in Taiwan), you'll find that there's a lot of pent up anger towards foreigners, most of all among local men.

There was also the recent story of a Taiwanese guy harassing a foreigner and his local girlfriend on the subway, who was clearly motivated by envy and sexual frustration. Every now and then foreigners get beaten up in front of clubs here and these kinds of stories play their part in that.

If not for his narcissistic obsession with recording everything he does, then yeah I guess David would just be another dude having fun.

I remember reading about this when it was making the rounds on the internet before.

Apparently they were or are RSD affiliated guys and were going around Taiwan, Hong Kong, and other parts of asia doing their version of spam approaching day game and filming it. They were trying to get into situations where they could get rage clickbait/notoriety going on the vid sites.

They succeeded in getting some notoriety but it just seems like obvious trolling to me like that one RSD guy Julien who did the same thing except more extreme.

I doubt any of these guys would have the balls to go up to guys/girls in situations where it's obvious they couldn't get away with it.

The one (HK?) dude who they snaked the girl(s) from wasn't even a boyfriend but some lame guy they decided to tool in front of the cameras.

No point in having a talk with guys like this at all. It's better to let the locals police them socially. When they push things too far they usually get jumped or end up dead anyways and they'll end up as a blurb in some local tabloid rag with full color photo spreads as another foreigner who got murked.

I used to think that this stuff had no effect, but my opinion has reversed itself lately.

Asian countries are getting harder by the year and a big factor is the shitty foreigners who fuck it up for us. Japan has gone from full-on pussy paradise to challenging even for well-integrated expats - all that within just 10 years or so.

Even this forum plays a somewhat negative role. There are just too many lurkers who contribute nothing but soak up all the value offered. You'd be amazed how many people have read the Philippines and Colombia threads.

If you find an amazing spot, tell other members about it over beers but don't post a datasheet unless you want to see that town ruined in record time. We could really do with a members-only section in my view.

I will add one more comment to the above:

The more previous contact a local girl has had with westerners, the worse her personality traits tend to be. I've found this to hold true in every country I've been to. Asian expats have little to no effect it seems.
