I've attended Euro 2004 and Euro 2016. While neither was in pussy paradise. I'd say in unlikely to ruin Russia.

-Visa is expensive for Russia, unlike the rest of Eastern Europe.
-Language barrier and poor weather compared to Rio.
-I was in second tier city for games and the majority of people attending the games only stayed for only a day for two. I am assuming Moscow has a larger base of people though, as did Lisbon and Paris when I went.
-Most cities are pretty quiet after the first round of games, so we are talking here around two weeks of elevated tourism. Since most of the non-European / non-South Americans teams will be eliminated in first round. Europeans teams have usually played a lot better on their own continent.

I don't believe for one second that Russia will be ruined, it's still quite an insular country with hard visa processes, language barriers and honestly, outside of Moscow and St. Petersburg, there isn't a lot of things to do in 2nd tier and below cities so unless you've got guys like us actively seeking these locations, I doubt there'll be that much competition.

End of the day, language barrier will impact most, Russian is a reasonably difficult language to learn and I can't see most casuals bothering thus they'll stick to Moscow/St. Petes and Real Russia shall be a goldmine for many years to come.

Damn - awareness of Game is spreading. That can happen - a small group of men can do it. A local PUA seminar with 20-50 participants can ruin a city for 2-3 weeks within a few days. Anyone who approaches them after that seminar will get insta-rejected. (smaller cities - larger cities only certain streets) Relative to the raw number of visitors it cannot be many, but of course a few hundred would be enough to ruin a city for a couple weeks. Any idea what kind of nationalities are doing most of the approaching or is it international across the board?

Moscow is much bigger and spreaded out than SPB, serious difference here.

To get back to the thread, its basic common logic not to visit a country during an international sport event. And secondly, yes women will get mass approached and we will basically need a "cool-down period" of a few months. Just like in Ukraine after the Euro few years ago.

There's several trends that have led to the decline of the dating situation in the West - social media, obesity, excess men, decline of values/feminism/hypergamy. I don't think the World cup is going to change society's values in Russia, nor will it promote obesity, and social media has already been around for years.

Maybe it will have a blip on the gender ratio as foreign men pursue Russian women, but the hassle of traveling there and language barrier are natural checks.

So, the overall globalization of the dating market is going to continue as before, as girls now have access to suitors across the entire world and better understand their value. The World Cup itself shouldn't have a major impact.
