I believe somewhere along the line the right to bear arms is going to be tested for real. This is happening under a supposedly America-First President who knows whats up and calls it out. This has to be stopped or be seen to be taken care of otherwise it risks putting people off and even worse, making them admit defeat.

I thought about posting this in the "Slow death of California" thread. Admittedly, Walters and Rohrabacher were terrible incumbents, and the California GOP is essentially token opposition anyway, but I really don't see Cali being worth the trouble for the Republican Party anymore. Barring a cataclysmic earthquake, nothing is going to turn this state around.

California will have a Dem Super Majority from now on - the Repubs here have for the most part been RINO's or Republican Lite.

With the super majority they'll railroad through whatever legislation they want, unless there's another petition for propositions like Prop 6 repealing the gas tax.

Which failed because that faggot Xavier Becerra purposely misled voters when writing the description for Prop 6.

Let's not forget Gavin Newsom former mayor of SF is at the wheel now for Governor.

California is a lost cause, barring something insanely crazy happening politically.

It sucks because I was raised here I love it here besides the political climate/high mortgage/rent, but thinking later than sooner I'll have to move.

kaotic.
What's the budgetary situation on CA? If CA went bankrupt under Democrat rule. What would the likely CA public reaction be?
Noting the underlying premise of this :

Quote:Quote:

California bullet train has had overruns into the billions due to bad planning, which was rushed to get federal stimulus money. Given Q’s narrative, this could be part of the plan simply to suck in the money from DC and support a California that is closer to full on bankruptcy than they are letting on. I am reminded of the Greek politician saying, “You don’t understand – when it is this bad, you have to lie.” Once the leaders are panicked, they will do anything.

Speaking of CA.
Granted some folk can find conspiracy in anything, yet noting the above. This is rather interesting :

Quote:Quote:

Map of California Fires, laid over map of proposed high-speed rail project, is frighteningly similar. I know people like these news briefs, but I keep getting the feeling that in these times, these briefs are all one big game of Russian Roulette. These are dangerous times. Nothing works like we were told. Somebody on Free Republic wondered if this wasn’t even about getting land, but rather would clear out some endangered Field Mouse or beetle that threatened to bring the scam to a halt.

@Cynical CALPers (Pension) is one of the biggest liabilities for our state - noone wants to talk about it.

The Browndoggle train to nowhere - is not even a high speed train, it's ALREADY over budget, and running out of funding fast.

I think voters would still be voting liberal - because they're morons and fucking sheep. The left has been good at demonizing republicans. With Trump at the helm of the US they can demonize repubs even more.

PS I don't think the fire map and railroad maps line up exactly - I'd take things like that with a grain of salt.

I don't really get the whole California is going to collapse bandwagon, i mean financially given that it has a surplus. Silicon Valley still has by far the most tech investement (5 times more than 2nd place Los Angeles area) also in Cali. The hollywood content bubble is not due for a correction for at least another 3 years, even then its not going to collapse it will be just a correction.

You can say that California is unaffordable and will simply be a play house for the rich, will most likely keep declining in population year over year and will lose a couple of seats every Census. But Collapse is a huge strech.

No collapse will occur unless something left of field happens. It is a slow, creeping death which makes it hard to spot and plan for.

People are leaving and going to other states with their crazy ass liberal nonsense. "It's not my fault this state is getting too expensive and crime ridden! It's DRUMPHF's fault!!!"People are going to continue to cross the border because coming in here legally is for losers. I'm over here in IL and it's pretty much the same thing over here.

Well boys, democracy was a well conceived idea but to beat it you need to import idiots, dumb down the population, have useful idiot politicians (one can argue Trump is in this category but that's another discussion altogether) kill the alphas off in wars, and crush individual liberties.

People are indeed leaving California but there's no shortage of people coming in, from both abroad and other expensive places like the northeast. California at least has good weather to show for all the expensive costs of living.

There won't be a collapse in California, but there will be a fundamental transformation of the state from the middle class society it was in the 1970s to a type of place like New York City is today. I see many similarities between California and NYC:
- still remains a global economic engine, but wealth benefits only a small minority of people. This is true for both Silicon Valley and Wall Street.
- lots of people want to live in CA/NY due to jobs and progressive preferences, but housing supply is restricted, keeping up the cost of housing.
- the non-professional population is held afloat by immigrants (in the case of California, both domestic and foreign)
- middle class people leave, and the people who remain are: the rich, the white collar professionals, the childless (young people, gays, DINK couples, etc), the poor who receive benefits and/or have no choice, and minorities who stay for the ethnic community.
- continued support for social justice policies by all segments of society due seeing to the growing divide between the rich and the poor, but not understanding the true causes of the economic changes (lack of housing, high cost of living). Taxes will increase.
- lots of people still want to visit and live there due to popular perception of it as a cool place, but those who move there will often be let down by the gap between reality and perception.

^ I see a similar thing here in my hometown of Buffalo, NY with some differences.

-The housing is low-cost
-A lot of the jobs are mostly made for the medical field
- The only real political race is the Democratic primary and that's sad, they've been winning since the mid-60's
- The local newspaper here has a grip on the city
- Most of the writers for the local newspapers talk about social justice a lot
- The working poor get kicked out due to gentrification, but still continue to vote for the politicians that promote these policies because they were told the opposition wants to kill them all
- Too many hipsters here now because of the Buffalo resurgence makes it a cool place when it's rated one of the poorest cities in the country
- Progressives have valid criticisms of the mayor, but they'll still support him because any one to the right of them is a jackboot Nazi

I also saw a house with a written message talking about Republican policies and how they're so bad when they can't even bring themselves to see Democrats have dominated this place for decades.

In regards to the midterms, not really surprised since Big Tech is silencing opposition voices. The Blue Wave was more like a Blue Splash with the diversity crusade to make people pay for what happened decades ago.

Its not just that the housing is unaffordable, its also people that own houses have seen their house value tripple or quadriple in a short amount of time and have made the very easy calculation that if they sell it(and as the above poster said there is no shortage of rich people moving in) they can take the profit and move elsewhere and live REALLY WELL.

I have seen my house price nearly double in just 2-3 years. Considering selling next year. I look at places like Vegas, Florida or somewhere south and when i make the calculation i get a bigger boner than when a ucsb girl arrives next door for the weekend and has no friends to play with.

The results are not going to be affected thankfully, but here's the latest in Florida:

Quote:Quote:

Fresh off its bungled machine recount, Broward County’s second day of manual recounting temporarily stopped about an hour after it began Saturday when lawyers from both political parties pointed out that volunteers were counting the wrong ballots. “It appears there may have been some ballots from yesterday mixed in with the ones for today,” Broward Canvassing Board Judge Deborah Carpenter-Toye told reporters.

...

On Thursday, embattled Broward County Supervisor of Elections Brenda Snipes boasted about making the state’s deadline for machine recounts.
“We are excited to be at this point,” she said Thursday afternoon. A few hours later, election officials were forced to admit the county had uploaded the results of the recount two minutes after the state’s 3 p.m. cutoff - making its machine recount tally void.

...

Hillsborough County intentionally refused to report its figures, which would have awarded Scott approximately 150 votes, because the recount turned up 846 fewer votes in total than the county's initial tally.

...

In Palm Beach, election supervisor Susan Bucher said the county found “dozens of precincts missing a significant number” of votes during the machine recount and indicated there may be entire boxes of ballots that weren’t counted, according to the New York Times.

She also blamed the county’s issues mechanical errors and said the scanning machine overheated.

She flew in two mechanics to fix the problem. The technicians, though, witnessed Palm Beach County workers jam a paper clip into the scanner’s “enter” button to slow the high-speed scanner down. That action caused a short circuit that cut off the power, according to the New York Times.

If this is the level of care taken in our elections, along with the absolutely
sickening lack of enforcement or consequences at every level of government, then what is the point of it all?

Just bring in the Zimbabwe election officials, it can only be an improvement.

Here's a thought.

Election meddling should be punishable by death.

There are no excuses. There are no qualifiers. The act is one of treason against the very democracy in question. How is it that this piece of shit Brenda Snipes can be not only walking free after being convicted of election tampering but actually still be "helping" run elections!? Now she has gall to claim that the backlash against her is "probably motivated by racism".

Forget the Zimbabwean election officials. If the Democrats don't want actual democracy then you should give them the alternative, and when there's none of them left you can go back to doing things the old way.

Already started to think that I was the only one scratching his head on this one. Look, I hold up a fucking gas station and if they catch me I go on a date with bubba for the next decade or so. But if I derail the democratic will of millions of people and directly affect their political, social, cultural, and economic future I get to walk? Plus keep in mind how well she may have been paid to repeatedly do exactly what she has done. There are at least half a dozen numbered offshore accounts that have been set up for her.

It's even more ridiculous when you consider the millions that are being spent trying to create a Russian collusion story because they "meddled in the election" while the people literally and actually meddling with the election get invited back. Just goes to show how deep the deep state runs.

Someone asked "why does it always seem to be these fat, black women cheating on behalf of the DNC" and I gave it a moment of thought.

The reality is that you don't have to pay them much at all. They're motivated by hatred of America, not money. In most cases they're almost certainly not even smart enough to get any assurance from above, by which I mean I guarantee you they're given their marching order by a DNC staffer who can later claim no affiliation (if they even used their real name), and the idiots are too dumb to gather evidence to the contrary if the party decides it's easier to send them down the river than haul their ass out of the fire.

For this task they are the most useful of idiots. They do it for the love (hate) of it and picture themselves as heroes, even thought the moment they stop playing bag man for the DNC they'll be back to living in section 8 and shopping with an EBT card. If they actually face serious charges they wont even blink when the DNC allows them to go to court with a sleepy public defender, and if they rot in jail they wont consider for a second that they're nothing but DNC toilet paper at the end of the day. They stuck it to the racists, and they're a hero of the people.

Snipes herself? I think she's beyond "the struggle". She's civil-rights-movement era. She was raised to think that equal rights would allow American blacks to advance much further than they already had. In light of where it all led she's probably more of a "burn the whole fucking country down" kind of person. True believer blacks aren't composed entirely of hate the way you can tell Snipes is, even at a glance.

The public will judge a man by what he lifts, but those close to him will judge him by what he carries.

Can someone explain why some state or federal authority can't simply say "YOU'RE FIRED" and truck in its own teams of poll workers and machines to perform the recount? Isn't that what would happen if, for example, a bunch of government employees refused to operate any other piece of critical infrastructure?

Lack of real consequences for misdeeds is essentially the sole cause of the vast majority of our current political and cultural issues. If politicians paid real costs for getting us into useless wars (Iraq, Afghanistan) and importing illegal aliens then they wouldn't do it. A simple way to restore balance to our country is to literally start chopping off heads of the traitors and put them on display. Once it becomes apparent that the consequence for selling out millions of people is your life, then you aren't going to be so eager to do it. However because our political & "justice" system is so divorced from real consequences we end up with a bunch of fucking morons running things.

Taleb's book Skin in the Game explores these ideas really thoroughly and is written from a very masculine perspective. Highly recommended.
