So once again. The intent to promote recruitment in a very particular manner has backfired & is giving Defence far more negative PR.

Prologue

I tend to focus on reading and posting about pickup/relationships, health, travel and self-development as opposed to political, international or sociological dynamics, because (a) these topics are more closely aligned with my expertise and reflect a clear level of my personal control over them, and (b) through this focus, I feel a greater perception of impact on others and a more positive influence on my own mental-emotional health.

That said, in the current climate of rainbow flags adorning the public landscape -- presented as a claim to the moral high ground -- I feel obliged to highlight the weak evidence underlying the Australian Medical Association's support for same-sex marriage and parenting.

Doctors call on the Australian Medical Association to withdraw statement on same-sex marriage

In addition to championing themes of fairness and individual rights for the adults involved, advocates for same-sex marriage have recently turned to a position statement from the Australian Medical Association (AMA) that backs up supposed positive outcomes for children of same-sex parenting -

Claim

Quote:Australian Medical Association Wrote:

There is no putative, peer-reviewed evidence to suggest that children raised in same-sex parented families suffer poorer health or psychosocial outcomes as a direct result of the sexual orientation of their parents or carers. There is research highlighting that physical, psychosocial, psychological, and educational outcomes for these children are on par with, and in some aspects comparatively better than, children raised in heterosexual parented families [source]

Critique

'A former senior Australian Medical Association official has lashed out at the peak medical body’s campaign for same-sex marriage, accusing it of using false and misleading information in claiming the reform was a public health issue. Dr Chris Middleton, a former president of the Tasmanian AMA, has joined with five AMA members in penning a 15-page report savaging the credibility of the national body’s Position Statement on Marriage Equality.' [source]

Quote:Dr Middleton and Colleagues Wrote:

Of several examples, the most egregious is the assertion that there is no peer-reviewed evidence of “poorer health or psychosocial outcomes” for children raised in same-sex parented families. That is a politically potent claim and unequivocally false. We reference peer-reviewed articles that do find poorer outcomes for children raised by same-sex couples, and we also show that the AMA was aware of this evidence.

In support of this summary, I encourage readers to consider the paper in full from Dr Middleton and colleagues.

Counter-claim

The response from advocates for same-sex marriage, such as Greens Senator Sarah Hanson-Young, that "A child being brought up in a loving home is far more important - and that quality of parenting is far more important - than any of the criticisms that have been waged by this group of individuals" does not address the specific points raised by Dr Middleton and illustrates the unscientific nature of this debate. [source]

It is disappointing that shaming language, virtue signalling, and emotionally-laden advocacy for adults have been prioritised over an honest and thorough debate on the mixed-method, peer-reviewed, empirical evidence on the wellbeing of children parented by same sex couples over the long term.

Video synopsis: 'Published on Aug 7, 2017 | Former AMA State President and AMA Fellow Chris Middleton tells Andrew Bolt why over 200 doctors in just two days have called for the Australian Medical Association to retract its "fatally flawed" Position Statement on Marriage Equality.'

Read something about the Senate having the capacity to stop the 'postal survey' before it even starts.
Edit.
From the news.com article on the previous page :

WILL IT GO AHEAD?

The postal survey faces two High Court challenges, which will be heard side-by-side on September 5 and 6 in Melbourne.
Mr Dreyfus believes there is a 50/50 chance the High Court will allow the survey to go ahead.
While it’s not clear when the court will hand down its decision but it’s expected to be quickly as the surveys are due to be mailed from September 12.
The two challenges were filed almost within an hour of each other and are being fought on similar grounds.
The Human Rights Law Centre, representing Australian Marriage Equality and Greens Senator Janet Rice has brought forward one case.
The other case is being fought by the Public Interest Advocacy Centre, representing Andrew Wilkie MP, Felicity Marlowe and FPLAG Brisbane Inc.
They argue the survey should be scrapped because the government doesn’t have the right to spend the $122 million it has now allocated to the ballot because it wasn’t approved by parliament. They say the government also stretched the rules by enlisting the Australian Bureau of Statistics to run the survey.

It's just a thinly veiled attempt to feel relevant. They're trying to pretend that we have these huge Social Justice issues here in Australia and they're forced to create problems to fight against.

I wish these wannabes would just book a ticked to Europe or the US if they want to feel like they have a purpose, rather than stirring up trouble here.

Seriously, no problems with statues at all for years and then magically they go nuts a week after the flare up in the US.

They could at least pick something new. What's next? Pushing 'We waz Kangz' for the Aboriginals?

I don't really care how the vote tips.

I just want it to be close.

From the time the results are in I want it to be clear that there's a sizeable (and likely growing) portion of Australia that's completely over this bullshit, and who are perfectly happy to tell the LBGTfascists to fuck off.

The public will judge a man by what he lifts, but those close to him will judge him by what he carries.

Pretty much every talking point they have is copied from what they see happening on American college campuses (and often the protests, about things like gay marriage or Palestine, have zero relevance for the majority of Australians). Australia just doesn't have much in the way of original thought when it comes to political matters...

The NRL has publicly thrown in with Gay Marriage today, after Ian Roberts wrote to the CEO, Todd Greenberg. Yes, he's Jewish. Suddenly, the NRL's tedious lectures on Homophobia, Racial Diversity / Inclusiveness and Women's Rights - all of which have nothing to do with the game but everything to do with the Reform Judaism - makes perfect sense.

What's interesting is it seems that Todd Greenberg was being groomed for an position of institutional power either way, and almost became the head of NSW Cricket.

Interestingly, I'd heard Street Kids, Sex Workers * and Professional Gays in the club scene openly-joking for years about Roberts' interest in 'underage twinks', long before he came out. Years later, he moves to Hollywood, and instantly falls into gay director Bryan Singer's circle, gaining a role in a Superman film when, being blunt, he can't act for shit.

Curious.

Note Bryan Singer was later accused of grooming and abusing underage boys, until it was all swept, very quickly, under the rug, but not before confirmed bachelor George Clooney suddenly-settled down.

Quote:Quote:

In the wake of the sex abuse suit filed against Bryan Singer, reports and rumors have emerged that the director had a proclivity for partying with underage boys.

Now Bret Easton Ellis has weighed in, saying on his Monday podcast that not only had he heard that Singer attended those types of parties, he dated two people who had been through "the kind of Bryan Singer/Roland Emmerich world of parties," noting that the bashes weren't identified as "underage parties" but fake IDs were important.

One of Ellis' exes had gone to those parties and seemed to enjoy the sex and the attention, the American Psycho author explained.

"He said he had been one of those guys who had been invited to those parties for one or two months and he was a sensitive guy. … He wasn't really into the drugs but he was into the parties and the sex and the attention, and I could easily understand it," Ellis said. "I guess he was 17. I don't know how old he was, what was expected of him. He kind of got it and said 'I'm going to enjoy this now. I understand why I'm here and what my expiration date is and what these people want from me' and then moved on."

How odd that Roberts would turn out to be part of his circle, given the rumours from years earlier.

Of course though, I remembered this happening before that:

Quote:Quote:

But, at 50, [Roberts is] still ashamed for not doing more to save the life of a young friend and HIV carrier and paedophile victim. But while now happy and content as he pursues a career in Hollywood, after also serving on the NRL judiciary while illiterate, Roberts still hurts for “not stepping up” and helping the police before a teenage lodger in his home was murdered in the 1990s.

In the months before the 15-year-old was murdered, police knocked on Roberts’ door hoping the teenager would provide evidence against his alleged paedophile attacker.

Roberts says his first selfish thoughts at the time were of how the case — revealing his sexuality — would “destroy” his career. “This is what I live with now,” Roberts told Peter Sterling in an emotional interview on Fox Sports.

“And I don’t ask for anyone’s sympathy or (have) regrets because I’m totally comfortable with what happened now. I can totally get my head around it.

“But for me to go to that point and think about my career when that boy ended up being murdered, left dead in a ditch, it kills, it crushes me.” Roberts says his coming out in 1994 — which he described as the “worst-kept secret in rugby league” — was a huge relief personally and for his family.

Quote:Quote:

October 19 2009
Murdered teen had sex with Ian Roberts, inquest told

Murdered teenage prostitute Arron Light was "besotted" with former rugby league star Ian Roberts with whom he said he had sex, an inquest has been told.

Convicted sex offender Maxwell Raymond Barry said Arron told him he had intercourse with both Mr Roberts and another male the footballer lived with, and slept "in the middle" of them.

In 2006 when Mr Roberts gave evidence at the inquest into Arron's death, he strenuously denied having any sexual contact with the teenager.

Barry was giving evidence on Monday at Glebe Coroners Court before NSW Deputy State Coroner Jacqueline Milledge.

She is conducting an inquest into the death of Arron, whose skeletal remains were found in a shallow grave on the banks of a canal in Sydney's inner-west in March 2002.

The 17-year-old, who was reported missing in December 1997, was due to give evidence against Frederick George Rix in a sex abuse trial listed for March 1998.

Following Arron's disappearance, the prosecution offered no evidence in Mr Rix's trial and he was subsequently acquitted.

Mr Rix, who has been named as a "person of interest" to the inquest, has been representing himself.

But on Monday Ms Milledge was told he would no longer be present and would only attend when required to give evidence.

Barry told the inquest that in 1999 he was jailed for at least five years for sex offences.

When he was arrested, one of the complainants against him had been Arron Light, but that matter did not proceed.

Mr Roberts has told the inquest he befriended Arron and took him into his home for a period in 1996.

Counsel assisting the coroner, Ron Hoenig, asked Barry what impression he got when Arron talked about Mr Roberts.

"I thought he was deeply in love with him, absolutely besotted by him," Barry said.

"That's all he talked about all the time."

Barry said he once drove Arron to a residence where the teenager said he had stayed with the footballer.

Mr Hoenig asked whether Arron said he had any physical relationship with the footballer.

"Yes, he said that is where he lived and he had intercourse with them both, with Roberts and whoever he lived with. That is when I found out he sleeps in the middle."

Earlier, Barry said Arron told him he slept in the middle between Ian Roberts and someone else, but Barry could not remember the name although he said it was a male name.

"Did you know Ian Roberts was the one police turned to to encourage Arron to give statements about various activities," Mr Hoenig asked.

"Yes," Barry replied.

"(Arron) has never made any allegation about anything improper with his relationship with Ian Roberts," Mr Hoenig said.

"To me, he made allegations about Ian Roberts, yeah," the witness replied.

"But he never made them to the police," Mr Hoenig said.

"No, I think he was besotted with Ian Roberts, he could never do anything against him."

Barry said he also heard some talk about Ian Roberts having promised to buy Arron a house.

Roberts was later cleared. Completely normal. Just like you and me. Nothing to see here. He's just going to lecture all of us on being a Bad Person.

* One street kid in the 80's mentioned to me an Australian Acting Legend being a regular client when he worked Sydney's notorious 'Wall'. "I was a late developer. Once I grew hair, he lost all interest in me."

It seemed a weird accusation to make at the time, because, there was no longer and social currency in being tied to that man's name. Why make that up?

Interestingly, by the next decade, it was common knowledge that the Legend's son almost destroyed himself with drugs, and any article that discusses him usually refers to him as a 'survivor'. Why would someone who was so successful - particularly for an Australian artist to achieve his level of mainstream success - want to obliterate themselves with drugs so badly? Makes you think.

I guess there's no point really pointing this out to anyone. Everyone is trained to not see what is right in front of them.

It seems that already the Yes brigade are attempting to disrupt the gay marriage plebiscite, as people have found envelopes with the forms taken out littered in Melbourne:

Quote:Daily Mail Wrote:

More doubt has been raised over attempts to corrupt the same-sex marriage poll after Australian Bureau of Statistics letters with the voting forms missing were found dumped on the streets of Melbourne.

A concerned listener to Neil Mitchell's 3AW693 radio program called to say he'd discovered three letters with the voting forms missing had been dumped in Murrumbeena, in Melbourne's south-east, on Friday morning.

'I discovered on the footpath, three survey envelopes for the marriage equality survey, they’d been ripped open with the contents removed,' he said.

^As if the morons have the slightest clue how the recipients were going to vote.

Uninterested voters are more likely to vote yes or not vote at all anyway. Those determined to vote no will order replacement papers.

The childish attitude is revealing, however. The progressives are utterly determined to muddy the waters on this. I'll laugh my ass off if the vote ends heavily in favour of "no". It will be hilarious to see them attempt to explain away the result with claims of a tidal wave of voting discrepancies.

Adam Piggott of Pushing Rubber Downhill seems to think our immigrant populations will push the gay marriage vote in the No direction:

Quote:Adam Piggott Wrote:

Cultures with Hindu, Muslim, or Chinese backgrounds do not tend to support homosexuality. Not even a little bit. Forget about if the results of the vote reveal which cultures voted yes or no. Instead, think about how much these cultures are going to vote either way. I put it to you that the vast majority of immigrants from these cultural backgrounds will vote a resounding no to gay marriage.

How ironic will it be if indeed these immigrant votes swing the marriage vote to a no, particularly when you consider that it has been lefty progs who have been so keen to devolve Australia into a multicultural cesspit.

More than half of those voting yes can't even tell me why, other than repeating media slogans.

When I ask them if they would vote for polygamy, they say "hell no! thats wrong".

When I ask what the difference is and repeat all the media slogans for gay marriage, they all fit Polygamy as well. "love is love, equality, what people do is their own business etc" they get confused and walk off.

But they will still vote yes.

Quote:Quote:

A FAR right group, one the chief organisers of the Cronulla riots anniversary events, has a new target — people voting yes for same-sex marriage.
The Party for Freedom will hold a ‘Straight Lives Matter’ protest on Saturday in Sydney to campaign for “white heteronormativity”.
The group, which usually campaigns against Muslim immigration, described the march as a reaction to the “purple haired rainbow collective”.
The party’s leader, Nick Folkes, told news.com.au being gay was a choice and called people who didn’t identify with their biological gender “retards”.
Provocatively, the protest is being held in the Sydney suburb of Darlinghurst, famous for its large LGBTI population and metres from a memorial to murdered gays and lesbians.
The group was unapologetic for holding the rally just metres from a monument mourning gay people executed by the Nazi regime during the holocaust.
“We want to make a strong point — I don’t feel were provoking anyone, we can hold a rally anywhere,” Mr Folkes said. He said “yes” campaigners could hold a march in a “straight area”.
NSW Police confirmed they would be in attendance at the event.

The Straight Lives Matter march — the name a clear reference to the Black Lives Matter anti-racist movement — is being led by Folkes, the chairman of the Party for Freedom. He was the figurehead of a protest in the Sydney suburb of Cronulla in 2015 to mark the 10 year anniversary of the infamous beachside riots.
That march led to violent clashes with anti-fascist protesters.

Mr Folkes told news.com.au he expected hundreds of people to attend. Currently 26 people have confirmed they will attend on the event’s social media page.
Asked if he really believed sexuality was something people chose, he said: “In most cases it’s a lifestyle people choose. My neighbour has kids and he was straight but went gay.”
He also railed against transgender people — also not mentioned on the ballot paper.
“All these 76 genders. I say there’s three genders: male, female and retards.
“The rest is lunacy The world’s being turned upside down.”
In a Facebook post, Mr Folkes, who describes himself as a “nationalist” wrote: “The same people who support the multisexual agenda of redefining marriage support third world immigration, global warming and restrictions on freedom speech.”
The group has been condemned on its own Facebook group. One person said the protest was “disgusting”.

“Are you actually holding this homophobic stunt in a park that has a memorial for homosexuals who were murdered at Auschwitz? Are you people actually that idiotic and disgusting?”
Asked if the rally occurring so close to the memorial was itself a form of bulling towards the LGBTI community, Mr Folkes said he was not aware of the monument when the event was organised.
He said the Yes campaign “is a massive propaganda campaign to attract more people to that lifestyle. I believe it will weaken society and make a homosexual society.”
On social media, members of the party have posted images of themselves putting up now infamous posters which equate same-sex marriage with child abuse. But, talking to news.com.au, Mr Folkes denied he was homophobic, and said gay people already had the “same rights” as heterosexuals.
“This is not about gay marriage, it’s a Pandora’s box. Some people are talking about polygamy and lowering the age of consent.
Legal experts who have spoken to news.com.au have said current de facto partnerships do indeed provide fewer protections than marriage. Yes campaigners have also criticised mention of polygamy as a scare tactic and utterly unrelated to a law change.

On Tuesday, Peter De Waal, who was together with his partner Peter Bonsall-Boone for 50 years, urged people to vote yes to same-sex marriage. He wanted to marry his partner but will never get the chance as he died several months ago.
Surely marriage equality was not about the “purple haired rainbow collective” but people like Mr De Waal, still mourning his partner?
“I separate the emotions from the person. He may be innocent and he may just want to marry his partner but the militant gay lobby has a different agenda. It’s not just a couple of blokes who want to get married,” said Mr Folkes.
Marriage equality campaigners have insisted that is entirely what the survey is about.
NSW Police they would be in attendance, including gay and lesbian liaison officers. “We respect the public’s right to protest [but] anyone who breaks the law or engages in anti-social behaviour will be dealt with accordingly,” the organisation said in a statement.

Alex Greenwich is the state MP for Sydney, which includes Darlinghurst, and is a leading member of the Equality Campaign.
When asked by news.com.au if a Straight Lives Matter rally was an example of the “respectful debate” that had been encouraged, he didn’t address the march directly but said “yes” campaigners shouldn’t be distracted.
“We will be urging everybody this weekend to spend time and energy knocking on doors getting out the yes vote.
“It is so important we are not distracted. We didn’t want to have this postal survey, we wanted the government to do its job but because they failed to do it, that means we have to.”
Teirnan Brady, the head of the Equality Campaign acknowledged the same-sex marriage debate had taken some ugly turns.
“This is hard; this is about real people’s lives. Every day there is a national discussion about your worth, your dignity and how wanting to be treated the same as the rest of your family poses some kind of threat to society.”
On Tuesday, the City of Sydney said it would be spending $32,000 delivering thousands of “wedding invitations” to households in the city encouraging people to vote “yes”.
The city has firmly pinned its colours to the marriage equality mast, erecting hundreds of “yes” banners around the city.
Mr Folkes said Saturday’s rally would be an “interesting day in democracy”.

The big mistake the left have made re The gay marriage vote is failing to realise a simple truth about Australians: WE DON'T LIKE BEING TOLD WHAT TO DO...

So originally the vote was, the hardcore left, a small portion of gays, and a small portion of millennials who know how to use a post office vs Religious Australians and conservatives [primarily older folk who give a shit].

Now, it's the hardcore left, a small portion of gays, a small portion of millennials vs Religious Australians, some conservatives, and NOW a huge chunk of people voting no out of spite. If NO wins, left have given a big assist.

Oh and ^^^...
