The entire process improved the relationship

This pondering occured over five years ago. Here's a spoiler: the couple did not split up and they're still together.

Juuso tells us, that the sex correction of his sweetheart did arouse some pondering in him. That, what if, later on Juuso doesn't like his partner anymore, because this one is more masculine and does not resemble a woman, externally?

"That would've been the worlds dumbest reason to split up, that what if I don't like you two years from now! Because it's always true in any relationship."

The couple decided to continue, as long as they still like each other.

According to Juuso, the entire process has only had a positive effect to their relationship.

"My boyfriend is much happier in his current skin and social role, compared to before. His self-esteem is better. If a human being likes himself, it's much nicer to socialize with him."

Juuso himself had speculated before the process, how his sweethearts external changes would affect the relationship. In the end, they didn't. The physical changes
took place over two years so slowly, one couldn't even understand them in that moment. They were clearly visible only afterwards.

The couple still live their life as before, but to outsiders, something is different.

At the same time, when Juuso's girlfriend became his boyfriend, other peoples definition of Juuso changed. Because he was dating a man, other people started calling him gay.


A straight man turned gay - and people's attitude changed

The love of Juuso Kekkonen and his boyfriend has endured external changes. Over the course of seven years of dating, the couple themselves have stayed the same. Other peoples attitude towards them, however, has changed.

When they walk down the street hand-in-hand, they now look like a clearcut couple of men, due to their appearance. They get more looks than earlier, and people have also heckled them. Sometimes, a threat of violence has also been in the air.

Luckily, friends and family took the couples coming out well.

The monologue teaches kids about the diversity of love, sexuality and gender, in accordance with the curriculum, by way of Juuso's own example.

The students have reacted to the show positively according to Juuso. The negative feedback comes from people who haven't seen the show and aren't aware that the show is specifically designed to suit younger people.

Juuso is excited about touring the schools.

"It's really cool to tour the schools! You sometimes see it in their eyes, that it was significant to that particular teen to have an adult speak about this subject out loud."

There is also a raunchier version of Juuso's show for adults. But there's still something special about visiting schools.

"It's the most pleasant job I've ever had so far. Performing for adults is fun and artistically challenging. But school tours make more sense, societally."

It seems like Juuso and his boyfriend are a textbook case of how true love withstands external changes. Their love is an understanding of souls, and it is one where people meet, not genders.

If she had had surgery, it wouldn't be called surgery, or even genital reassignment surgery. No, the new term, and you have to keep up because these things change from day to day, is:
