The scenes leading up to the end of Das Boot (up until 8:00 in the clip below) are especially powerful to me:

Here's why:

Stuck at the bottom of the sea = Stuck in the Western dating market

Hoping the sub rises after attempting to fix it = Hoping my location independent plan at least gets me out

Being ecstatic that the sub actually rises = Being ecstatic that my plan actually got me out

The sub reaching the surface, finally breathing fresh air = Landing in Poland, seeing Polish girls as a breath of fresh air

Uncertainty about the fixed engines running, until they do = Uncertainty that the Game I practiced in the West would work in Poland, until it did

The normally calm captain happily yelling to his enemies, "Not yet comrades! Not yet!" = The normally calm me figuratively yelling to my socialist enemies (feminism is just socialism for women), "Not yet comrades! Not yet!"

The crew singing "It's a Long Way to Tipperary" = Me finding a possibly-marriage-worthy 21-year-old Polish 7 within four months of arriving in Poland

Christoph Waltz was incredibly evil in that movie. The best bad guy of all time in my opinion.

It's amazing how such a strong scene (from start to finish) can be immediately followed by complete and utter trash for the rest of the movie.

A young protagonist confronts his imminent death - Gallipoli (1981)

Could you imagine a woman ever facing reality like that? Millions of young men did from 1914-1918. Bonus shot of a young Mel Gibson. I highly recommend this movie.

There's a scene at the end of Woman In Gold (2015 film with Ryan Reynolds and Helen Mirren) that's really powerful.

Can't find a clip of it, so I'll do a short description. Minor spoiler alert, read at your own behest.

It's in the middle of WW2 and the Nazis are rounding up all the Jews in Vienna.

The female protagonist has set up an escape route for her family. Just as they're about to leave, things go awry and she's forced to abandon her family in Vienna, leaving them for certain death in concentration camps.

What gets me about the scene is how supremely acted it is. It's heartbreaking to see the family realize that they will never see each other again. The father urges her to go and live on, and by doing so promising to remember them.

I realize I can't put it into words. The only thing I can say is that I had a lump in my throat that entire scene.

Been researching the Korean War recently. Came across this modern portrayal of the Korean War Tae Guk Gi. All the Koreans I know love their K-drama. I'm not an avid consumer of drama myself, but this scene tugged at my heartstrings (it's in Korean):

Summary: One brother Jin-Tae (the round faced, surly one) believes his brother Jin-seok (the skinny one) has been killed by South Korean military officials purge operations on suspicion of Communist ties. Jin-tae has already lost his wife to these purges, so Jin-tae goes rogue and joins the North Korean army.

When Jin-tae realizes Jin-seok is still alive, he regains hope for his future and promises to protect Jin-seok. He hands Jin-seok a silver pen, a previous gift symbolizing education and a bright future in the movie. Before the war, Jin-seok was a top student for the civil service exam in Korea, which promised a bright future for the family upon passing the exam. Jin-tae joined to war to protect Jin-seok, and does so in a final stand against rampaging North Korean troops. Jin-seok refuses the gift, and makes Jin-tae promise to return (alive) with the pen...

Ending scene, not great in itself, but a fitting ending to a great movie. A metaphor for the randomness of life and how that changes everyone. Everyone can relate to meeting with the old gang who don't really have anything in common anymore with except those shared memories that shaped all of you for good and bad.

Blade Runner

Already brought up, but this one is one of the strongest monologues I've seen or read. It's pure philosophical brilliance about the short time we have on earth and how our entire being and universe is as fleeting as 'tears in the rain'. To go with courage into life and out of it.

This is how I imagined the Meet Up Day would have went if it were held in a class room with Roosh playing Williams, us being the students, and the professor being the Media/SJWs. People standing up and respecting a man who has taught them so much about life when the entire world is threatening your livelihood and right to peaceful assembly.

Regardless of religion, for example I'd be saying the same if it were Christians or Hinduism, this is more about people showing respect to a man who provided them an opportunity to escape punishment, torture, and death. It is about the actions a man makes in his life, and the lives he impacts while he is here on earth.

I'm a sucker for emotional scenes. People hate on Godfather III but this was absolutely heart-wrenching. Pacino at his best.

Also, you can despise Sean Penn all you want but the dude has serious acting chops.

This is, in my opinion, the greatest ending to one of the greatest films ever made. The film follows a traditional three act plot: Life in rural Australia, the glamour of being a soldier leading up to the battle, and finally the brutality of trench warfare. It also shows the cruelty of being a soldier (cannonfodder) from a colony of a superior empire.

Here is a better clip, as it shows Gibson's role leading up to the runner's death as well as the fade to black at the end that really makes the scene.

This one isn't a movie scene, but it's still powerful. A commercial from the concrete company in Chicago. Men getting work done, and not a woman in sight.
