A bigger Exito might sell protein powder, like the one on Caracas and 50 something.

I try to find Isolate (not the expensive gold) they tend to have low quality in supermarket [Image: confused.gif].

Last night I hung out with my chica from Cali and a few other people in Parque Poblado, there was about 200 people there and some live music. We drank beers which guys bring around in ice buckets and cost 3000 pesos, they also sell smokes and weed although I wouldn't openly smoke it as there's a heavy police presence. It was very chill and I had a much better time there then two blocks up the previous evening in Lleras, paying 8000-10.000 for beers, shitty service and unpleasantly loud music. I was only in Mde for two days, I go just to meet friends and hang out, I guess I'm really just not into the higher end lounges and loud, crowded night clubs drive me insane. Now I'm in the coffee zone until Monday then Cali for two days then up to Barranquilla and the coast for a few days, if any one is around those places, hit me up. Also, I may bus it down to Bogota and hit up the following cities: Rio Hacha, Valledupar, Cucuta and Bucaramanga if anyone is interested in joining me, I'll do it January 15th until the 22nd.

The one thing I would caution some on here that say Bogota is "over-played" or "has the most English speakers" be careful with that assessment.... This city is truly MASSIVE....I venture to say most travellers here hit up the 3-4 zones of the city and base this assumption on those areas......or simply pass through on there way to another region of the country......

I have said before this city has many layers that to make those blanket statements are IMO false info....yes if you stay in Zona Rosa your gonna have access to more women that speak english....however many many parts of the city people do not speak english....and dont encounter many gringos in there daily life....and these places are not just in the far south or dangerous zones of the city.

Exactly. I am staying near to Centro Comercial Santa Fe up north and have seen three foreigners in a month. Two guys my age with fat foreign girlfriends (why the fuck did you bring her) and a cool older English guy that I met yesterday at breakfast. He has a hot Colombian wife and owns a place outside the city with his own swimming pool and five rooms for $100,000. He said his wife pointed me out because I am the only foreigner she has seen living in this area. I might head up and visit him soon actually, he was a cool guy.

If I want to hit up Zona T its only a 15 minute taxi but its a completely different vibe up here. Not many bars or nightlife. Plenty of girls at the gym though and the malls since Uni is still out.

Its only in Barranquilla, I've been twice and had fun both times, I recommend it for guys who are already in the country but wouldn't travel there just for the carnaval. BAQ is a grimey, hot shit hole so there isn't much to see in the city, just party for a few days then fuck off to a small beach town near Santa Marta to detox after carnaval. I won't be attending this year.

Most gringos don't realize how big Bogota is, when I took the bus back in from Cali. It seemed to take over an hour to just get to the bus depot from the outskirts and then another 20 minute cab ride to go from there to where I was staying.

What do you mean?

I thought Bogota was bordered by Armando Records on the North, Andres DC on the South, Andino CC on the East, and La Villa on the West.

Should be traversable in five minutes via car/bus, tops, with normal traffic.

I guess you're right, if anyone is feeling adventurous they can venture to the rough areas like Usaquen though, watch out for the roaming vagabundo gangs prepared to knife you up if they hear some change rattling.

Bogota is one of the worlds 30 biggest cities. I can hardly get anywhere in five minutes.

Anyone knows a bank in Bogota to open a business bank account for a foreign company? My UK bank told me to fuck off since I'm not in the UK anymore, trouble in paradise ...

I am almost certain you won't be able to open a bank account in Colombia unless you have a residence permit and a cedula de extranjeria.....Unless this company has ties to Colombia and foreigners working & residing in the country, I highly doubt this is possible.

This thread has motivated me to return to Bogota this week. I used to travel there monthly for a few years, but haven't been back since 2007 so I'm very curious to see what's changed. If anyone wants to hang out, please let me know. Also, any ideas on what to do on a Sunday night?

Hey all - I'm headed to Bogota and looking to run some game old school style starting next week. Flying down from San Fran on Saturday. Will be in Bogota on Sunday until Wednesday and then off to Medellin and then to Cartegena.

If anyone is in town Jan 17-29 and wants to meet up, then send me a message.

Just a heads up....Bogota will still be fairly dead until last week of Jan/Feb....as most people slowly return from Winter holidays....Sunday is typically a family day and most venues are closed.

I got this solution for the moment :
https://international.standardbank.com/
Going to pay a visit to HSBC Chapinero will see since HSBC is supposed to be an international bank(I'm dreaming).

I didn't want to search about how to get a working (without working) visa so soon [Image: confused.gif].
Will be glad to go out with some of you when you arrive, just pm me.
PS: Standard bank is only for personal erf ...

Scotian, is "official" high season in Santa Marta from mid-December through January and July/August? I didn't go during these months, but I'm curious if you'd have better gaming options in Santa Marta during high season.

I just got out of an LTR and am looking for some fun brown girls so I may head to Colombia. But on these clothes, I'm a weird size, would it be advisable to have them make it and then ship it to me if I leave before they're done?

I'm sitting on a deck in Salento drinking rum and viewing some nice mountains. I'm so fucking lazy I'm just gonna sit here and hit on hostel girls.

I may have to check out Bogota. I like little towns but the Bogota girls seem very friendly and much less nutty than the other Colombianas. Or I'll just get drunk and hit on some dirty ozzie backpacker. So many options.

I like Parque Poblado, too. It's dead a lot of the time, but good vibes there when it's going. If you're lucky you'll bump into the guy with the ganja brownies and you won't have to worry about smoking. I like that bar, La Tineria, that's on the corner there, too. Cooler than your typical neighborhood fonda, for sure.
