Guess Ellen Pao was really just a distraction to pin all the blame on. I just hate the hypocrisy of it, all the campaigns for uncensored internet and free speech then they go and censor/ban their own site with some bullshit excuse. Some of the things said on coontown are pretty disgusting but they have every right to express their own opinion. It's also isolated from the main page, you would have to go looking for a black hate subreddit if you wanted to find it, I went 2 years with an account without even knowing it existed. From what i remember Reddit isn't very profitable despite how huge it is, they are trying to integrate reddit into facebook or some shit but they want to clean the site up for advertisers first (don't quote me on this).

They are doubling down - introduced a block button to their threads, which I guess isn't as bad as banning topics outright.
Wonder what happened to that bitch Ellen Pao?
Didn't she quit / get shitcanned sometime late last year?

Reading the article, it's not about blocking users - it's about controlling the spread of ideas they don't agree with by labelling it 'harassment' and 'trolling'.
They get to define both terms.
They also get to define what both what is Common Decency and what Violates Common Decency.
So who are they listening to? They interview both Anil Dash and Brianna Wu.
Note the co-founder is a man who looks like a lesbian.
Once again: the tech bubble is going to crash.
What is it about tech geeks / gamers/ comic book fans / sci fi readers that allowed the SJW's to just waltz on in and start calling the shots? Is it just because the majority of those guys have been pushed around their whole lives and never learned to stand their ground? Or were they coerced into it by the promise of pussy? What's the deal?

It's called the Victim Olympics, "winners" get temporary power and need to re-qualify when victim status wears off.

I think it is a mixture of things. Sure you have the betas, the pushed abouts, and other types who mostly are naive or indoctrinated.
But you also have the masculine rebels and shitposters who are far more educated than your average citizen.
They are the real targets.
I have been mulling the following over for some time and have meant to post about it in the migrant, trump, and a few other threads for awhile now but have been too distracted.
If you were born in the 80's or earlier, then take a minute to really think about how the Internet and the tech industry in general has revolutionized how we live.
We are at a time that I think is comparable in importance to how it is changing things similar to the invention and adoption of the printing press or radio vs. television.
Though different than those examples, it is changing things and the establishment is terrified of losing control of the narrative and the masses.
It wasn't that long ago that counter culture narrative critiques were left to the domains of pirate radio stations, a mature magazines sold in the back of seedy record shops, and 90's era webpages and bulletin boards.
Most people viewed it as wacky at best and subversive at worst and it had to be sought out actively.
Now you find it all over the place in comment sections and retweets and status updates.
It also goes beyond internet 2.0.
When I was little video games were a novelty and parents worried about it "rotting your brains" but now it is a multi billion dollar industry surpassing Hollywood and the military uses them for training.
Basically, I really think we are on the verge of society changing in a similar way to how it changed when we transitioned from a radio in every house to just forty or so years later having a color tv in every house.
The difference between WW1 & 2 vs. Vietnam, but probably on a much, much more disruptive scale.
The PTB knows this and are trying to mitigate against it and control it as much as possible.
Everything they do tech related belays this point ranging from encryption to net neutrality to online harassment and so on.
Women these days think they can shop for a man like they shop for a purse or a pair of shoes. Sorry ladies. It doesn't work that way.
Women are like sandwiches. All men love sandwiches. That's a given. But sandwiches are only good when they're fresh. Nobody wants a day old sandwich. The bread is all soggy and the meat is spoiled.

^ I agree but that doesn't explain why the tech geeks / game devs just rolled over as soon as the PC mob started flexing. Where you did have some pushback with gamergate and sad puppies, that's a consumer revolt, so it's not coming from the industry side. Why did they let their entire industry become a mouthpiece for SJW's who are, ultimately destroying their bottom line (sales) by trying to push out CRAP nobody wants to play/read/watch?
It's either willful ignorance to the extreme, naivety, straight up bullying, or the average geek thought holding a "I need feminism because" sign would get him that elusive pussy he's heard so much about.

Users behind 'coon town' and [insert racial term here] forums really aren't affected by SJWs taking over their space. They're usually good at congregating elsewhere and removing themselves and their traffic from places like Reddit.

The last few years having culminated in the Trump ascendency have been pivotal in showing redpills that they're not alone, and that they are in fact legion.
From here on out it will no longer be a question of whether there is a place for us to gather, but where it will be on any given day.
The public will judge a man by what he lifts, but those close to him will judge him by what he carries.

So... basically what happened in San Jose, more voter intimidation encouraged and enacted by the left.

If /r/The_Donald is banned, expect a bigger reaction than that of when /r/fatpeoplehate was banned. /r/The_Donald routinely has 4,000+ average users on its subreddit at a time. The shitposting that has taken place on that subreddit has forced itself to the top of Reddit.
/r/The_Donald's supporters are incredibly passionate about Trump and free speech in general. They are slowly changing the candor on Reddit and forcing their views to be heard, it's beautiful. If their sub is banned, holy shit, I'd expect a reaction that would permanently cripple Reddit. In a way, if The_Donald was banned, it might be the perfect martyr to discredit the liberal stronghold that is Reddit for good.
