Guess Ellen Pao was really just a distraction to pin all the blame on. I just hate the hypocrisy of it, all the campaigns for uncensored internet and free speech then they go and censor/ban their own site with some bullshit excuse. Some of the things said on coontown are pretty disgusting but they have every right to express their own opinion. It's also isolated from the main page, you would have to go looking for a black hate subreddit if you wanted to find it, I went 2 years with an account without even knowing it existed. From what i remember Reddit isn't very profitable despite how huge it is, they are trying to integrate reddit into facebook or some shit but they want to clean the site up for advertisers first (don't quote me on this).

The Reddit Nazi's are banning way more than that. Read through the comments and you'll see there are tons of subreddits quarantined or outright banned. Reddit is dying, and it will be a very painful death I will be happy to watch.

They are doubling down - introduced a block button to their threads, which I guess isn't as bad as banning topics outright.

Wonder what happened to that bitch Ellen Pao?

Reading the article, it's not about blocking users - it's about controlling the spread of ideas they don't agree with by labelling it 'harassment' and 'trolling'.

They get to define both terms.

They also get to define what both what is Common Decency and what Violates Common Decency.

So who are they listening to? They interview both Anil Dash and Brianna Wu.

What is it about tech geeks / gamers/ comic book fans / sci fi readers that allowed the SJW's to just waltz on in and start calling the shots? Is it just because the majority of those guys have been pushed around their whole lives and never learned to stand their ground? Or were they coerced into it by the promise of pussy? What's the deal?

I think it is a mixture of things. Sure you have the betas, the pushed abouts, and other types who mostly are naive or indoctrinated.

But you also have the masculine rebels and shitposters who are far more educated than your average citizen.

They are the real targets.

I have been mulling the following over for some time and have meant to post about it in the migrant, trump, and a few other threads for awhile now but have been too distracted.

If you were born in the 80's or earlier, then take a minute to really think about how the Internet and the tech industry in general has revolutionized how we live.

We are at a time that I think is comparable in importance to how it is changing things similar to the invention and adoption of the printing press or radio vs. television.

Though different than those examples, it is changing things and the establishment is terrified of losing control of the narrative and the masses.

It wasn't that long ago that counter culture narrative critiques were left to the domains of pirate radio stations, a mature magazines sold in the back of seedy record shops, and 90's era webpages and bulletin boards.

Most people viewed it as wacky at best and subversive at worst and it had to be sought out actively.

Now you find it all over the place in comment sections and retweets and status updates.

It also goes beyond internet 2.0.

When I was little video games were a novelty and parents worried about it "rotting your brains" but now it is a multi billion dollar industry surpassing Hollywood and the military uses them for training.

Basically, I really think we are on the verge of society changing in a similar way to how it changed when we transitioned from a radio in every house to just forty or so years later having a color tv in every house.

The difference between WW1 & 2 vs. Vietnam, but probably on a much, much more disruptive scale.

The PTB knows this and are trying to mitigate against it and control it as much as possible.

Everything they do tech related belays this point ranging from encryption to net neutrality to online harassment and so on.

Women these days think they can shop for a man like they shop for a purse or a pair of shoes. Sorry ladies. It doesn't work that way.

Women are like sandwiches. All men love sandwiches. That's a given. But sandwiches are only good when they're fresh. Nobody wants a day old sandwich. The bread is all soggy and the meat is spoiled.

^ I agree but that doesn't explain why the tech geeks / game devs just rolled over as soon as the PC mob started flexing. Where you did have some pushback with gamergate and sad puppies, that's a consumer revolt, so it's not coming from the industry side. Why did they let their entire industry become a mouthpiece for SJW's who are, ultimately destroying their bottom line (sales) by trying to push out CRAP nobody wants to play/read/watch?

It's either willful ignorance to the extreme, naivety, straight up bullying, or the average geek thought holding a "I need feminism because" sign would get him that elusive pussy he's heard so much about.

A lot of nerds and geeks despite their high intelligence and abstraction skills still are pretty underdeveloped socially and emotionally. I've spent some time in these circles interacting with these people and a lot of these people haven't really matured too much past their high school days. They still are hanging onto to their old teenage mentality where they were the underdogs, the plucky defenders of the weak and outcasts eternally fighting the jocks and popular kids. Now they're older their ire has been re-directed from the jocks and popular kids to Wall Street CEOs, Republicans, rich people - basically anything that is seen as conventionally attractive or successful. Now that geek and nerd culture is mainstream these people, now adults and entrenched in positions where they can influence media (video games, comic books, movies) and do what they always wanted - get back at the popular kids and promote instead their own kind as being superior. That's right, beneath all the talk of fairness and morality and equality all of this promotion of SJW issues is really just a status power play. They want to be the top of the social hierarchy now.

So in short, the answer to why a lot of these tech/geek media people roll over for the SJWs is because they themselves are sympathetic to SJW values even if they might not be as crazy as them in behavior. It's similar to the situation you see in universities right now with leftist professors being scared of their own SJW students. Their own creations have turned against them and they are unable to reign them in.

Your question is why companies produce SJW-product like "inclusive" feminist pandering games or movies that tank subsequently?

Well - that is a question that can be answered in the WHO CONTROLS THE US thread. thread-48745.html The super elite isn't about making money with media and entertainment so much as with indoctrination. Most media already does not make money - sure they don't want to lose cash, but the control and change of the opinions of the unaware masses is enough.

In the past the propaganda was in all the movies too, but the points of social change were minor. Now it's increasingly revving up and some of the talking points like feminism, anti-racism, etc. - all of it is making movies or even games unwatchable/unplayable. I recently even read cases where the producers are fighting directors and writers ever more, because the actual filmmakers are more concerned about the story while others are just wanting to push an agenda thus destroying the storyline. But that is all part of the global control matrix.

On another note - while Reddit will continue to censor it still serves an important function to reach many guys caught in the Blue Pill world. That's why Rollo plays an important role on Reddit. It's not about the men who come to RVF or ReturnOfKings - those are already waking up. It's about the poor pussy-whipped bastards who first need a conventional route to find out about the Red Pill.

Very true; the paths to RoK/RVF are many, so whatever helps make people aware is mostly a good thing. I came here via AVfM, Roissy, The Spearhead, Karen Straughn videos...took a couple of years but got here eventually, from Red Pill awareness to realisation of what that really means.

Also, from '1984':

“Power is not a means; it is an end. One does not establish a dictatorship in order to safeguard a revolution; one makes the revolution in order to establish the dictatorship. The object of persecution is persecution. The object of torture is torture. The object of power is power.”

A large part of the problem is the SJW infestation at Universities, which leads to many in game development (especially artists, writers & others on the 'creative' side) and almost all game journalists being SJWs or SJW sympathizers.

For the most part, the average gamer doesn't really give a shit, or is even hostile to the SJW agenda (see: gamergate).

SJWs calling the shots (or just as good as) is not unique to the technology sector, companies such as Disney, The NFL and Starbucks (among others) all support the SJWs on some level - it's definitely deeper than saying geeks are getting back at their perceived oppressors.

From here on out it will no longer be a question of whether there is a place for us to gather, but where it will be on any given day.

r/the_donald recently has been trying to fight the massive censorship on r/politics. They were becoming somewhat successful.

Now, the admins have told r/the_donald to stop discussing censorship on r/politics or they will be banned [web archive link]

Quote:Quote:

This will be enforced because the consequences from Reddit appear very severe. The moderator who messaged us suspended the account of one of our moderators, despite telling us that no reddit rules are broken. That probably means that non-moderator accounts were punished more harshly. The admins are very serious about wanting us to stop discussing what /r/politics removes. We will no longer be discussing it.
Do not confront those mods about it either. When we received the message, I checked all the accounts of the admins on /r/ politics to see where the brigading was. I couldn't find anything that looked anything like a traditional brigade, but that is probably because of the popularity of those mods; they are so popular that their comments usually have so many upvotes that if there is a comment that looks completely untouched, that is probably because a brigade countered the enormous number of upvotes it had before. Even if it does not look like you are brigading, you still might be.
Do not post about censorship on /r/ politics on this subreddit. The admins have told us that we are not allowed. All posts here about censorship on /r/ politics will now be removed.

I'm actually starting a fade away into not using google, facebook, or other cucked media. I'm making an exception for twitter right now because Mike C. is killing it there, and so far they haven't stopped him.

But, I'm giving all of these assholes votes of no confidence because I no longer trust them. Google in particular. I was always skeptical of Facebook, but now I'm just thinking "fuck those guys".

I never got into reddit, just liked lurking there. Some good data in key subs. I've always seen it as a goodfeels wasteland.

If /r/The_Donald is banned, expect a bigger reaction than that of when /r/fatpeoplehate was banned. /r/The_Donald routinely has 4,000+ average users on its subreddit at a time. The shitposting that has taken place on that subreddit has forced itself to the top of Reddit.

/r/The_Donald's supporters are incredibly passionate about Trump and free speech in general. They are slowly changing the candor on Reddit and forcing their views to be heard, it's beautiful. If their sub is banned, holy shit, I'd expect a reaction that would permanently cripple Reddit. In a way, if The_Donald was banned, it might be the perfect martyr to discredit the liberal stronghold that is Reddit for good.

Exactly my sentiments. Trust is the main issue here. And this is why I don't use social media at all. As for Google, I am gradually moving away from their apps: Gmail, Search, etc.

Social media presence can be useful for anyone who is running (or about to set up) a business or making a name for himself to generate income. Also, Donald Trump - as a businessman - is an excellent example of how he used Twitter to spread his message far and wide when he ran for president. This is just common sense in how one uses social media.

But for personal use, it's too risky. A couple of years ago, I crossed over to the dark side to try Facebook to re-connect with old friends from high school and colleges at the urging of a family member. After less than a year, I absolutely hated it. Just didn't like it at all due to privacy concerns. Why should we allow Facebook to use our personal information to share with advertisers (or others) that we have no way of knowing how they distribute the information they collected?

I prefer to keep my life and memories private the way it should be like the old days.
