In general I think the dating sites suffer from a negative filtering process by which women who look OK but have some type of disagreeable personality trait are able to get more attention than they can in everyday life here. ( Keep in mind they are competing with very slim, feminine women all over the place, and there's lots of YOUNG ones because of the high birth rate.)

In addition, about 30% have serious skin problems they hide with cell camera "beauty" filters. There are so many women with perfect silky skin on every sidewalk you're almost working against yourself on those sites. The best I can say is its better than nothing.

I've met some nice girls on the dating sites, but I believe I would have been FAR better off toughing it out with face-to-face cold approaching on sidewalks, anywhere. However I would guess an indirect approach would be best, communication is very subtle here and if you just blast a girl with "I'm here looking for a wife" I don't think she can see the humor, sanity , or point of it.

The idea that just deadpan blurting something out can be an amusing break from the "fronts" everyone puts on doesn't seem to exist here. The decorum of this sort of Asian/Spanish hybrid culture is just too strict. People laugh a lot amongst their friends, but are formal with strangers, and I think even the humor amongst friends is pretty simple and not too far out or sophisticated. Dead Pan goes right over their heads.

You'd be surprised how many Filipino guys approach. Cute girls are definitely used to getting called beautiful or sexy in the street. Girls who work in the malls are always being chatted up by the security guards. They seem very soppy and romantic but lighthearted in their style. I suppose the Spanish did leave some remnants of their culture behind.

Little intro: spent here almost two weeks, I'm staying in Makati Bel Air (better to be around Greenbelt or BGC).
I don't know if it's just me, but I find Manila boring. I used mostly filipinocupid and tinder and after first 4 nights when I scored 6 chicks I got bored. With that in mind I got a few more over subsequent days, but every time I didn't feel too excited. Quite frankly I got the best rapport with the girl I hooked up from tinder and she was Korean, so there it goes for the filipinas. I don't mean to slam them, but most of chicks on cupid have no brains. Even talking to them online makes my brain hurt, not to mention meeting them in person, which kind of beats the purpose of the trip "to have fun".

Few times I simply cancelled on the girl coming over to mine as I couldn't bear the fact that I will have to spend some alone time with her haha. This could sound sexist and whatever, but seriously these girls... Mind that I didn't really hit the clubs/bars or try daygame (which I should have done) and which is my bread and butter back in London, but hey.. I just keep getting pinged by girls from online... What can you do..

Besides on top of that I just don't like this city at all. People are nice, but with their inferiority complex it's just annoying (walking to a restaurant and getting all these looks and greetings... creepy), city is polluted, horrible traffic and it's impossible to get anywhere without using a cab (not that I mind, since they are so damn cheap in here). I'm planning to visit some islands starting with Palawan next week, perhaps this will shed more favourable light on this country

After seeing me bring all those girls back to my place, one young filipina who worked the front desk would look at me in thinly-veiled contempt when she'd see me with the 8th, 9th, 10th girl, and so on. Many times she would go out of her way to avoid looking at me directly when I'm milling about on my own. I told the Manila RVF guys about it, and they said I should try getting her phone # for shits and giggles.

Yup. I was at a burger place with one of the girls I met, and at least four pinoys including waiters walked by and complimented on her looks. Her reaction (gracefully brushing them off without being bitchy) to this made it seem like it happened all the time.

Manila is far from boring, you just need to get yourself out and about and meet real people, not rely upon Cupid, DIA, Tinder etc

I wish I had saw this sooner. I'm in Manila as well. Makati is pretty gross, the fort seems to be much better for less polution. When I was in Makati it seems like I was in a garage with the door closed and a car running breathing in exhaust.

It's ticket out of poverty and player style Filipina guys, I'd say. And you're YOUNG. Most of us here are not on RVF and are older.

This is a golden post and my experience as well - the only question is, how do you go for the girls that are well-established and don't need money? Just hit the high-end clubs or live in high-end neighborhoods? Or are they just faking it, paying/investing in the date a couple times hoping theyll have a AAA lifestyle 6 months down the road?

Foreigners earn on average 20-50 times more than a normal Filipino guy ever could. And some much much more. Unless we are talking rich Filipinas (which people here are not pulling) then escape from poverty/money is a huge factor. Of course it is. Even a relatively middle-class girl is poor by western standards. You represent a good catch for her.

"Filipino guys are shy" or "Filipinos always cheat" is just hamster talk. Money is the big elephant in the room that no Filipina will openly acknowledge. That and a potential Western passport with paler-skinned offspring are huge attraction factors.

Let's get real here. Getting laid here isn't down to your superior game or dick size in most cases. I have 60-70 year-old white neighbours dating dimepieces in their 20s. It's not at all about money is it?

After reading all the manilla threads here I pretty much know what to expect girl wise. But everything else about the place seems pretty bad. I have 3000-4000$ to spend on a 3 week vacation in November and originally I was gonna stay in manilla for 3 weeks. But aside from the high notch count it doesn't seem like I would remember anything else about the place?

Would it be better to stay for 2 weeks and then go to Tokyo for a week and a half? It looks like it's only a 260$ plane ticket to Tokyo around that time from manilla.

I would say yes, Manila isn't one of the jewels of Asia in terms of cultural offerings. I think you only need 3 days in Manila - find some cute girls and then have them come with you diving off one of the beautiful islands in the Philippines.

If you want an interesting cultural city, I would recommend Taipei or Hong Kong and Tokyo/Osaka, particularly if you're new to Asia. The Philippines has a lot of beautiful places to offer, but Manila's neither beautiful nor easy to navigate compared to the other usual tourist destinations on the continent. There is plenty of culture and interesting things to do in Manila, but it's just much more of a hassle getting around than in Hong Kong or Taipei or even Shenyang, China although they do speak good English in Manila.

If you have some game and like Asian women, you absolutely don't need to go to the Philippines to get laid. 3 weeks could mean 3 different destinations and 3 different flags - easily.

I have spent a few months in Korea in the past and loved the different culture. I was visiting some friends/ family so I had a guided tour more or less all around the country and I know Korea is definitely a hidden gem for a tourist. I like a lot of the Japanese history since it's so different then America"s which is why I know I would enjoy visiting there. Ironically I don't really care for Asian chicks (especially Korean/Japanese since they are so homogenous) haha I'm 1000% only interested in Latinas but I want to visit the Asian countries first since I will predominantly be going to Europe and Latin America for job and leisure related travel after this year.

I have good game and can pull if I choose to in America/ Los Angeles where I live but lately I've been in monk mode because I would rather be wealthy in my later age then married/dream killed.

I have a weird background where most of the international travel I've done has been with good friends so I always ended up rolling deep with 4+ to any country which sounds cool but in practice you end up doing similar shit as you would do in your hometown and you have to accommodate shit with 4/5+ people. I kinda wanted to do my own thing this year which is why i was thinking Philippines since I they speak English and I am street smart to not get scammed on anything but petty taxi fare . Japan is safe and easy for a foreigner so I don't imagine there's any problems there

I agree it's about money as well, but for some of them it's more of a status thing. Money will improve your odds anywhere. What I was referring to is that women aren't all trying to get a piece of my income like most think. Even two of the girls I banged had plans of moving out of the city (one the next day, the other in a week).
