Ok so as promised my guide to Perth, firstly I want to clarify that even though it has a lot to do with game I am making my first summary more comprehensive than where to get laid. Secondly if you feel anything needs changing or want to add something let me know.
Right so I have relocated here in March 2014, that being said I have been here many times for work ranging from overnight stays to 3-month stints always on the company dime. First thing to remember about Perth is it is HUGE on mining, currently the downturn of projects has translated into a really skewed state of affairs where mining (which has driven the local economy) has stopped but the rest of the state hasn't cottoned onto it yet.
1) Getting here and first impressions: If you're from any state on the Eastern Seaboard and have never been the first impression is it is reminiscent of Melbourne/Brisbane (more the latter) only about 15 years behind the current date.
If you plan on coming here my first recommendation is; get around on either public transport or taxis, rental cars is fine however the way the traffic is and the nature of road users is if you don't hit someone you will be throwing your fists in the general direction of idiots who drive like they were the dropouts of driving school. much easier and cheaper to get around via public transport. Only get a hire car if you plan on doing a road trip away from the city (more below).
The first impressions are its really the best place for summer, beautiful beaches, great weather and almost zip humidity so it can be a 40-degree (Celsius) day and as long as you're in the shade it is amazing. One thing that will probably hit you really quick especially if you're from the Eastern states is how expensive things can be, usually a 20% increase is a safe bet on almost anything you are looking at.
2) Where to go/Where to stay: A lot of this will depend on your budget and the duration of your stay, some options aren't game-friendly if you're usual M.O. is to bring a girl back to your place.
- Air B'n'B is a great option if you have a long stay and don't want to outlay heaps of cash on accommodation, as long as you're happy living in someone else's place then you're fine; probably not the best for bringing girls home to especially if you're living with an old grandma.
- Hotels are plentiful and reasonably priced it is however a question of available funds vs. duration. Personally I would recommend looking SE of the CBD as the nightlife is easier to get to and more residential than North.
GAME - ok the fun part. As I said before Perth has built itself up on mining, and unfortunately not much else, being a miner out here is king and you will soon learn that when you start gaming. In particular given the price of everything females here have turned into gold-diggers for the most part with no real attempt at concealing it. I still recall my first weekend here and I was approached three times and their opener was what limit credit card i'd give them if they hooked up with me or if I was a FIFO (Fly-In-Fly-Out) worker.
The next thing you will learn is that Perth is very cliquey, with herd mentality running rampant, usually if you are an unknown then you will find you will have to be sharp on your game if you want to break into a certain group. As for the herd mentality the women here are of the mindset that "All for one and one for all" so if one girl is hooking up the rest will follow suit, subsequently if one doesn't hook up most of the time the rest will also (sadly) follow suit.
My advice for handling this is pretty simple; get known, and that doesn't have to be terribly difficult, rolling with a group of drinking buddies (of similar mindset and attractiveness) will go a long way in helping seal the deal with that cute blonde. if you're travelling from interstate or overseas find a forum that goes with your interests; for example because I did amateur rally driving and I own a custom WRX I went to the Perth-WRX forums, and as I ride a motorcycle I went to the street bikes forum, a wealth of knowledge and local intel plus plenty of group rides/drives and get-togethers will help establish your group.
Where you go depends on what your scene is; I have listed a few below (feel free to list others) based on my own experience and the style of women you will see:
- Classy/Upmarket; Head to East Perth along the river, for those reading this from Brisbane consider it a classier version of South Bank or Oxford Street in Bulimba. plenty of nice cocktail lounges, al a carte dining and majority 7.5-9 on the looks scale, only problem is you will be either queried on your income from the get-go or (assuming you pass that test) will be expected to supply bottle service to maintain interest - that is unfortunately a very real problem especially if you either can't or won't maintain it. Great however if you want a quiet night. Highlight venue that sums up the area - The Aviary
- Party: Perth isn't as big on the party scene as say Sydney or Melbourne and usually relies on remix versions of current top-40 for their house/dance scene, however if you are head to Northbridge, similar to Fortitude Valley or Kings Cross provides a good mix of ladies to game on and plenty of opportunities to bail on one and game the next. Beware the bottle service though. Hightlight - The Library
- Casual/Pub: One place that seems to be the go-to for nearly everyone is the Burswood (now Crown) casino. Plenty of entertainment options without going too far either way, also if you like to have a flutter its the only real place to be, easy to get to if you looked at the "Where to Stay" option. like the Party point its got a good mix of ladies where the 7's+ stand out but be mindful of cock-blocking and a shitload of Beta's.
- Dredge: Around the metro area you get a smattering of pubs that are good if you don't feel like slugging through the nightclubs or having to deal with a baby-sized portion for $85 when it comes to food. Lot of these places have the usual drinks specials and local beers and it's great if you are focusing on early-night game as most people go to the local, get tanked THEN head to the city (they do not miss you in the clubs for drinks I can promise you). One place I would avoid is Armadale; like the Logan of Perth it can get rough and the payoff is not worth the trouble, just avoid it...period.
- Beach-Going: Seems standard but I feel it deserved it's own mention. Great to go during the weekends for lunch/dinner, great beaches, lot of local seafood fare great for the sunday-afternoon drinks. Highlight is DEFINITELY Little Creatures brewery in Fremantle, has it's own nightlife scene but is very isolated, so the girls you meet at Fremantle more than likely will be there during the day as well even though its only 25km from the CBD.
- Casual 2.0: Sorry I forgot this one; plenty of great tapas along the Albany Highway strip at Victoria Park, great for breakfasts and seeing some decent machines driving/riding by of a Saturday morning. probably the best place to work your day game
**EDIT** - online game:
ok I didn't mention this however it needs to be said about Online Game, it has the benefit of setting up dates and helping to break through some of the cliques. Oasis Active is one site; doesn't cost to start or use, most of the women there are <6 and the one's >6.5 unfortunately have the attitude to boot (6-9-6 syndrome), however good to have as a passive for your day/night game. many of the women there are DTF however a lot (and I mean A LOT) are flakey as the chocolate bar of the same name so don't put too much emphasis on it. Tinder requires you to be in the right place at the right time, because of population density if you're in the city on a Saturday night and have your settings right you can get a lot of matches but like what has been already said plenty of bots and dead-ends.
GIRLS:
Ok so I mentioned the scenes and the type of girls you meet here are the pro's and con's (my own assertions) based on my time here:
Pro:
- Usually pretty trim and decent (see the cons below)
- Herd mentality can work in your favour
- Not really too picky on the Looks/Ethnicity background (unlike Sydney)
- Can be easily impressed (also not depends how you play it; see cons)
Cons:
- Like most entitled women they take the bits of feminism they like and the bits they don't then magnify it x 10
- If you take a girl on a date do not expect to have a diverse conversation (or even entertaining for that matter). For example women here are all about travel, if you find a girl that has travelled expect it to go something like this (sung to the tune of "The llama song")
Travel travel travel travel I-like-to-party-and-I-travel, travel travel travel travel travel travel FUCK!! travel travel travel travel I-want-a-guy-who-will-be-waiting-for-me-while-I-travel travel travel I'm-empowered-and-I-travel travel travel FUCK!!
- Herd mentality means that you want wingmen that are good on their game and can seal the deal as it's all or nothing otherwise.
- Single-motherhood (coupled with herd mentality) means that women see it as a badge of pride that they get knocked up by a stranger, and given the bonuses and money single-mothers get (quite a bit) one can see why. However that being the case ALWAYS bring your own tried-and-true supply of condoms and unless you're good at spotting them personally I wouldn't make it known that you're in money; yes it may cost you a few bangs but well-worth the stress not had in the long run.
- Easy ways to spot the wannabe baby-mumma; usually if she isn't going to University or has a high-flying job (by her standards) exercise caution, also if she is boring as in hasn't gone anywhere, either does nothing or gives you the vibe that having a child (and coming from a poorer household) is the only highlight in her life besides being every guys pump'n'dump.
Where to go when you aren't gaming:
Ok so assuming you want to do more than game while you are here. Fair few things you can do to keep yourself entertained (I am writing this from riding a motorcycle so YMMV):
- New Norcia; Australia's only monastic town located around 140km NNE of Perth, great drive and fascinating to see. Given it's a monastery the artwork is amazing in the chapel and they make their own wine, bread etc. well worth the trip
- Fremantle; good place to go for a close-by destination to sample the local fare.
- Margaret River; if you're a wine aficionado then make the time to head to Margaret River to see the local wineries.
- Bali; one of the perks of living here is that Bali is cheap-as to get to, specials from the travel companies easily go under $100 one-way and Bali being Bali isn't that expensive to enjoy to its fullest.
So there you have it. I have probably put a negative slant on it but it is well-worth it if you decide to come here.
