Zuck would be a moron to run for office in 2020. He is too inexperienced and still has too much aspieness to be trusted by the public by large. Many people have seen his movie or know how he stole FB and how ruthless he was. He and Bill Gates have a shitload in common, but Bill Gates is a little bit more likeable than he is, and that is saying alot because when you run for office, every person you fucked over will come out of the woodwork and throw your dirty laundry all out in the middle of the street.
He would only concern me if he prepares to run for governor of a decent sized state (he lives in Palo Alto so California would make the most sense) and does a good job at it before attempting to run for president. Then he would be a legitimate threat for the White House. By then he will have good experience in a sense, probably had some more kids (he probably won't have more than 1), will have older children, etc. If he ever tamed that wild and out of control California budget and gets all the credit for it, watch out because he really would be a legit WH threat.
You are making the same mistake I used to make - that is, thinking that everyone else is as rational as you are. Most people don't care about how a person got their results, and even if he is a conman, people are accustomed to politicians being like that way already.
I don't think he will be content being a governor of a state, that is, being lower down the hierarchy than anyone else.
I am not making any mistakes here.
People do care about those things. Look at how Hillary jumped on how Trump became a billionaire during the debates.
Don't think for a second that if he was in the middle of a debate, whether the primaries or past that, someone is not going to lambaste him over how he has gotten where he is?
Becoming a billionaire like the guy who founded Blockbuster stores vs, someone who stole/jacked sourcecode he hardly understood from smarter people, screwing over several friends in a small circle does matter.
If Bill Gates decided to run for president in 2020, it would be a bloodbath. Every person I know that has told me an ugly and dark story about Bill, will start talking to reporters and documentary people. Pretty soon everyone will know many of the rumors or inside knowledge I have heard about him, and then some. His ugly temper, the nasty things he and Steve said and did to other people, employees with inventions at Microsoft that he screwed over, etc.
Mark is no different.
Your past comes back to haunt you.
Key differences is that change can fix these things. Trump was wild, but changed. Difference was that he started his change waaaay ahead of 2016. Trump had been working on his image as a good boss way before he even had political ambitions.
Go and listen to stuff celebrity friends and other random people say about how nice Trump was to them. Do you ever hear stuff like that from Zuck? No not really. I heard nice things about Trump many years ago from a person. I have yet to hear anything like that from Zuck and he works in my industry. IT is a small world.
Regardless, his personality is about the same as a rock. He built a mansion with a underground bunker for crying out loud. Trump built a tall tower in NYC. Think about the contrasts here. One is naturally extroverted. One is an introvert. Most TV era presidents have been extroverted.
Your average voter is more socially intelligent than you are willing to give credit for. People can feel fakeness and can still feel vibes, even if they are not willing or able to articulate it verbally or on paper. They can feel the difference between a souless try hard and a genuine person. Trump, flaws and all, keeps it real with himself and others. With him, there are "no whammies", as the Great Master P would say. People that loved George W Bush commonly would say, that they wanted to sit down and drink a beer with him.
Hillary Clinton does not have Aspergers or any kind of spergness, and she lost this election over the exact same reasons. She has the personality of a rock. A Napoleon complex, extreme temper, entitled personality, overbearing arrogance, talks down to others, scolding mother vibes over political correctness "This is not who we are." (shaming language), no down to Earthness, poor accessibility to others, etc.
One thing Trump was good at for decades was that you would find him in spots, real people hung out, and he was there because he actually wanted to be there. He would be at boxing and UFC matches, mixing it up and talking to common folks. Dude is eating a hotdog like it was a steak. He isn't being caught dead drinking a kale and spirulina, vegan smoothie.
George W Bush drank beer with people before he was president despite being born with a silver spoon in his mouth. He was connected with oil and gas folks and was an hunter. Most of his friends may have been rich rednecks, but the point still remains.
Zuck needs crossover appeal. The cat is out of the bag now. White males feel under attack and liberals have no idea how they feel right now. Even a piece of shit liberal like Howard Stern talked about how Hillary lost because she refused to come on his show and talk to white men, who make up a large amount of his audience. Trump on the other hand, used to be a regular on his show. Zuck going to a black church is virtue signaling. Black people won't help him win the WH. Our vote is garbage numbers wise and is more splintered than in decades past. More Republican blacks than ever before.
Can Zuck appeal to your average white man? What about White women? Some women are put off by gay face. Some non-liberal women (white men too) might be put off by him having a Chinese wife.
If he was Governor of California and did a good job, he gets a kind of social validation for public service. If the field is weak enough, he could possibly squeak in, if his debates are strong enough.
Trump has been public speaking for decades in front of others. Obama as well if you look up his history. You cannot put the apple cart in front of the horse and there are pretty much no shortcuts to the WH. He is not going to leapfrog anyone in 2020. That is pretty much impossible. No man has ever become president under 42 years old (Teddy Roosevelt). Zuck is 32. Running at 35 with no prior government experience at that age is a pure joke and a massive waste of money. It's exactly the bad stigma millennials get from older people about their level of arrogance and entitlement.
