I want to try out New York More but....

Never in my life has a man called me good looking and it takes the jaws of life for me to spend over $80 on a night out.

Here is the game you need if you're flying in.

"Just Land Safely"

Largest, most dense city in the world. Logistics on lock no matter where you live. People get fucked up EVERYDAY.

There is literally no excuse.

OK, we have established that NY is a great place if you have some kind of status, great game, and a fat bankroll. Don't see how you can deny that.

See this is where I totally disagree. I started getting pussy here at 17-18-19 when I had NOTHING, I lived in a shared room with bunk beds with 4 other dudes, at times in the Covenant House, slept in Tompkins, worked in a restaurant and smelled like grease, literally asked for cigarettes everywhere I went, and girls were just there, everywhere, it was no 'work' at all to meet one on any given day and get into some sort of relationship. Love is easy here. My last ltr I admired greatly, an amazing person, worked her way up from nothing as an immigrant to the highest levels of her industry, a REAL catch, but I dont want marriage or children. There are literally thousands of woman here like this if you are looking for quality.

For a middle aged guy I dont think its much different. You dont need to be Patrick Bateman to get pussy. Of course it doesnt hurt, but I think thats the medias interpretation, and thats what weighs on guys, the societal expectation of men to be wall st sharks and patrick batemans in the city. Its actually closer to How to Make it in America.

People in the US just hate NY'ers, for good reason, we are a bunch of assholes. But dont tell me Boston, Tampa, Atlanta, SF, DC or any other second tier cities are better for getting laid and have higher quality women, then I just know you are deluding yourself.

I envy anyone in the boro's who grew up here. The latinas, italians, EE's, russians, asians, carribean, etc they have to pick from in my opinion is unlike anywhere in the world. It makes living out in the boro's an attractive option.

NYC is a poosy paradise for me, especially with the native white girls. They never see a well dressed Southern guy up there. I think they've all seen Gone With The Wind too many times and have some fantasy about the South. Whatever but it works. Bayside was a goldmine and my biggest mistake was spending too much time in Jackson Heights. That would require more time, but the people there were extremely polite, especially when I spoke Spanish.

I used Peruvian cabbie the whole time and he brought his daughter to pick me up cause she'd never met someone from the ATL, and told me where to chase girls that night on Roosevelt Ave. Being polite and courteous went a long way up there. The bartender at the hotel would tell the other customers where I was from and they'd invite me over to talk. I choked and didn't approach a white chick in front of the hotel:

Take a point off for the face and this was the exact package. All I had to do was offer to split the cab fare to Manhattan and I'd have been in like Flynn. Still regret that one. All this went down in 4 days.

NYC is just that easy.

This is what i really love about this forum, you get a different outlook on things from other members!

Thank you all for the replies so far!

I've been so frustrated with the game for a while. I've put in quite a few years but haven't yielded back decent results which has affected my confidence to even pull at all but I do try.

To describe me. I'm 5'11, have a football player build and decent on the face(about 250 but i look more bulky than fat). I look like Will Smith and denzel a bit in the face and i do direct style.

With how NYC has been for me:

1) I didn't have any logistics whatsoever to where that might affect my mentality since i was visiting my friend for 8 hours and would go on a bus back to DC at 3:45 AM.

2) I did get e/c now and then. But i didn't commit myself to those situations or when i did, i thought that it wouldn't lead anywhere since it didn't in the past. Plus i get a little nervous in crowded places(when i see a hot girl tho, that nervousness goes away if i approach her)

3) My feelings of frustration and has caused me to be thirsty. Meaning that i'm in a rush to get from one step to another with a girl and haven't been able to relax because i deep down want something to develop since i'm so use to nothing developing.

4) My game needs work. I haven't pulled in my home city(DC) in about a year and some change but my logistics suck to begin with(i live 45 min away). Also, most conversation don't last that long with them as they want to go back to their friends(aka they just want to go back and might not be all that interested).

I blamed it on the bars and clubs being tough as girls are distracted easy, but in reality...it's my own fault for not committing more with some of those girls. Girls have ADD in general, so i just gotta find them again OR go to another bar to find easier targets. But i do have to say doing this for so long, i have picked up on things that have helped me get better in certain situations.

5) In East Village, My friend who I was visiting sabotaged some approaches of girls walking. Two good looking asian chicks were about to be down to going with us to another bar until my friend started cussing them out because he thought they stood me up but they weren't.

I think the reason i started the thread in the first place was that I had too much expectations for NYC to at least ease my frustration away because i haven't seen success in so long and haven't given it more of a go and wanted something to look forward to the game with again.

I do have to say though, there is so much quantity there to the point each where i went, there were at least cute girls. Plus, most weren't cold or mean to me...some showed receptiveness, its just i guess i just want to be able to have things stick with a girl longer than 5 minutes these days.

Plus, from what Menace said about Vicious, I think i just need to become exceptional in other areas. I think my strong approach starts out well but it can't be all i rely on as the results show its caused me a rut. I need to work on other areas.

And what MidNightSpecial said about me being a lazy bum. I kept thinking i try hard sure maybe a few years ago but these days...i don't put in as much gungho effort like I use to...so I admit it, these days i'm not putting in the effort and I have become more lazy.

After hearing you're guys stories...you guys have given me hope that it is possible! [Image: smile.gif] I'll go at it again but I have to plan better and work on more of my game to get it to work.

About posting a meetup, i never thought of that...that's a good idea. I didn't know a good amount of members lived in NYC [Image: smile.gif].

Also, for other cities that i found less difficult...Vegas gave me that vibe.

BTW, 3 nights in NYC budget from DC: AirBnB apt ($450-550, good neighborhood in Manhattan), bus ($50), going out ($100-200/day if you go out at night). So, conservatively a 3 night stay in NYC costs you $800 if you can't stay with a friend...and if you can stay with a friend, can you actually bang there?

Not that bad.

You can buy a bottle and pre game limiting your bar bill as well. Put it in a thermos and drink in one of the many public places where girls constantly walk by.

Also befriend a promotor. A lot of times they walk around outside clubs recruiting people. If you have girls with you they most times will let you in for free and you will be at a table with a comped bottle. Life hacking shit.

In the summer they had free outdoor movies at numerous parks that was love.

@MidnightSpecial- A Colombian player said you could make it on about $120 a day in the city, including going out 4-5x a week. I think that included roommates. Does that sound accurate?

This just means you weren't really in NYC. But I think you know this, so I am not going to belabor this point.

This is really the core issue. You have standard game-related problems; those need to be addressed first. I think I met you at the RVF meet up...you're a brother, right? If so, you should model yourself on successful players in the area...VK and HC.

No, you look fat.

Don't lie to yourself.

I have been 6' and 260 pounds. Yes, I had more of a solid look due to large degrees of muscle mass and good overall fat distribution (i.e., it wasn't all concentrated in my stomach and I only wore size 36 jeans).

But I was still too fat.

Drop 20 pounds of pure blubber and tell me that it doesn't make a huge difference.

@aliblahba Jackson heights is where it's at. There's a reason all the best strip clubs are in queens.

$120 is more than enough.

I've finally gotten back on my feet financially but for a while I was living week to week. Without a place in manhattan and $10 or so in my pocket some days even less. But that didn't stop me from talking to girls and making new friends. I'm now cool with three promoters and can pretty much go out for free any night of the week. And if I bring girls with me I can get $10 a girl. So now I'm actually getting paid to bring girls to the club and drink for free.

I still want to work in NYC for a year, but I need a local address to put on my resume. Their not gonna call me with an ATL addy. I have qualifications well above this, and it starts at 30 hr:

I'd come up there for $80K, and pay a finders fee for any member that helps out.

I got just about everything on my resume except for PLC's and A&P license. I'd be ready to make a move next spring when I get back on my feet and some cash tucked away for the move. Priority is still working overseas, but NYC is hard to turn away. So much opportunity, and I like 4 seasons.

It's worth a shot man, as you can see it's not for everyone. But the amount of attractive women is overwhelming. Pretty much everyday I see a girl i HAVE to approach. Whether you like Spanish girls with fat asses or Jewish princesses who live on park ave and love sucking, it's all there.

Don't forget a lot of females move here trying to make it! And majority of them do not. But they are still hot and probably the 'cute girl' from their home town. I meet a lot of girls who just moved here fresh out of college who are very eager to hang out and be shown around. It's pretty funny they actually don't believe me sometimes when I say I'm originally from New York because most people aren't!

there are so many tech start ups and massive tech co's here, data centers, companys looking for EE's, I might expand your scope in your search.

one of the larger data centers, but with all of the teleco in the city, there is so much more. http://www.savvis.com/careers-search

The problem I found earlier this year was the pay disparity. In ATL I get calls for ~$25 hr, 60+ hrs per week with 70% travel. W/ per diem and no commute to an office. That puts the salary to $65K+ with a much lower cost of living here.

Companies up there were acting like they were doing me a favor to start in North Jersey for $55K with a shit commute. I obviously haven't figured it out yet.

look for a good recruiter, thats all I can say. Thats why I always recommend an apartment broker, they are an expert in the marketplace. there is so much opportunity here man, any time the unemployment rate spikes I would recommend anyone try their luck here.

Fucking hell dude. I see random videos of the streets of NYC and there are more random good looking women walking there than the streets of SF. Try pulling from a bar in Man Jose 1 hour down with silicon valley making the ratio worse for the entire bay area.

Here's my take as a born and bred New Yorker:

New York is an interesting beast. It's a very much a grass is greener mentality. I'm always scheming for a way out of New York. The commuting, the hassle, the amount of people, the cost. It drives me nuts sometimes.

Then again, I love when those wheels hit JFK again when I've been away for a long time. There's no place quite like it.

I will admit, I've run into more shitty attitudes than I ever have in the past year or so. The shitty of shittiest attitudes have come from people new to the city. It's appalling the way people new to the city have responded to me at times, and I'm not even just talking about hitting on women. For example, a girl asked me when the downtown train was coming. I told her that she walked into an uptown only station. Instead of saying thanks, she says to me, 'that sucks you have to go uptown', before storming off.

I draw an analogy between the shitty attitudes that people new to the city have, to the shitty negs guys just learning game give girls. Guys who give shitty negs are clearly inexperienced and cross the line without doing it playfully. It comes off as cringeworthy at best. Girls who come with shitty New York attitudes are overcompensating for trying to be like a New Yorker.

It has to be said, the more I'm away, the less I have a desire to be here. My sails are firmly pitched away from New York at the moment.

Yeah a lot of those transplants can suck. Met some cool foreign & domestic ones in NYC, but the ones that suck & feel the need to overcompensate big time would be from the south. Me saying "oh hey you're from Texas..I am too" doesn't exactly mean that I'm hitting on them bc not there in NY to bone chicks I could have back at home.

Spent some time living in Queens at one point as I've had to return 2-3 times a year for work so can relate to those shitty inconsiderate negs.
