OK smart-ass, do you know how much time and money it costs to look into such matters? They aren't going to spend all that for a tiny amount like $5k, which I intend to pay off. It might be "fraudulent misrepresentation", but they don't have the time to look into it unless "you" tip them off.
In America, it is easier going after small fry like you in this case, than going after Investment Banks, etc. who knowingly sold their clients bad products etc. You hear about small guys all the time, rarely does it seem some large corporation takes a hit. If anything, they settle without admitting anything and for less cost than the money the made. People get arrested for shoplifting small items, it would be pretty foolhardy to think that you won't get caught when your intent was to fabricate stuff to get the loan.
Your case would be easier to prove than the ton of work without a certain outcome like some of these major cases. And they can the authorities can boast about it. Also, think about the institution you borrow from, it doesn't want to develop a reputation of letting people borrow money and not pay it back. They have every interest to prosecute to protect their reputation. They have departments full of people to address this stuff.
Whatever you do, don't be like the younger generation that wants to post everything on FB. It is amazing that kids actually do that - commit a crime and post it on FB.
