One thing I always liked about this forum, is I didn't have to read this typical nonsense about Americans, that's all over the place over here. I'm in northern Germany on the border with Denmark, have been for 3 years, and basically - it's incredibly lame. Shot myself in the foot by locking into this area. The big cities are of course great, but get off this supposed 'the beaten path' (where I am - cow country), I'd say the 9/10 ratio of people pigeonholing you because you're american and not giving you a chance is pretty accurate. I don't really post on here, so I don't have a reputation, and I really enjoy reading what the Europeans have to say on here for the most part.. but look at the Euro sentiment posted in this thread. These guys are fucking cool and rare, and still got this kneejerk reaction going through all the usual bullshit stereotypes. Really, many (too many) women folk over here have no fashion sense, many of them can't speak English almost at all, 'plump' would be a pretty good word (none of them ever work out and all of them drink this thick beer and eat god knows what), they all play foosball (or kicka) at the lame bars and dig this constant barrage of music basically straight out of the 80's. Most of the guys are straight rude-ass dicks, who giggle with each other and pour beer directly into the tops of their heads every weekend and prob always will, act goofy when drunk or try to be badasses in a bright blue sweater with some logo at the lame local discothek. One word in English they all know for sure is redneck, but they don't realize that they seem to fit the European version pretty well. Then there are the Birkenstock wearing faux-intellectual types (who just think as long as they're ultra left wing about everything, well, then they're right about everything. Simple, eh?). There are of course a lot of cool people, but I can't get far with most because of the left wing anti-American worldview that's practically a requirement (to one extent or another). Thank the baby Jesus my new/current roommate is cool as fuck and I can bullshit with him because shit was really starting to suck.

I will admit my German isn't perfect, but it's pretty good. Decent.

Advantages? Female international students, the rare cool German chick or two, and a few lovely ladies hailing from all over the world settled in Germany who like my guitar skills (like this stunner originally from Iraq who asked me for my number last night). Now, I also have figured out how to enjoy myself here a few miles from the Danish border, but it's like holy shit I can't think of anything that's good about this place, no joke - ok, maybe the pretty little harbor with sailboats for a month and a half in summer. Aside from that... yeah. I'm not trying to talk shit about 'Germans' per se, I've met a lot of cool Germans in my travels and because this is the kind of place that if you know what's going on, you move away from,- move somewhere like Hamburg, Berlin, Cologne, Bremen etc. Just don't give me this shit about getting off the beaten path in Europe to see how it really is and that it's some wonderland - the beaten path in Europe sucks. really. bad. (& nothing but beautiful grey skies 3/4 of the year - fuck that!)

Wasn't anything in the OP that didn't strike me as being pretty close to the truth as I see it here. Buncha hollister wearing nimrods walking around with their mouths open. Afterwards, I did notice some Europeans letting out the usual US-this-US-that whine while enjoying directly or indirectly billions of dollars of US taxpayer money for decades on end to this day (CSDP is a fucking joke) that will never be asked to be paid back in any way, shape or form. That I did notice. I'm not trying to say that I'm some sort of fucking statue of Zeus or that I give a shit about German cinema (I don't - French either.. Scandinavian is good), but I expected better. I expected people who played bass guitar in Europe to be able to do it without fucking up every five seconds thinking they're the shit and fucking up my band (for one). Anyway, in a few months I'll be back on the beaten path here in Germany, thankfuck, somewhere where at least a decent amount of the people are approaching normal, laid back, open minded, and cool, and I'll be able to get serious again. I cannot wait. /rantfuckover

p.s. - my language? I'm just pissed I feel like I wasted the last three years when I could've been in Hamburg Berlin etc. Feel so sorry for me ha

Damn.

Thought about hitting the South of France this summer?

Oh I can understand you well, I'd bore my ass off too if I'd be off the beaten track in Germany , hah!
People in the north of Germany are known to be close minded and not very kind or well-receiving of strangers.

Where in Germany will you move to?

Confuses me too. First it was "Balkan Power", then "Slavic Dominance", and I'm guessing next might be "French Destruction".

100% agree. You see a lot of these in Paris. Especially in the posh areas. I think it's grooming and fashion taken to the extreme. It's the only way I can make sense of it.
In France the cosmetics industry is pushing to make male makeup acceptable. The problem is that once it becomes acceptable everyone will have to wear it to stay in competition. Imagine, doubling the industry revenue for cosmetics, if you can make all the males buy it!

Now I will say one thing, a lot of these feminized Euro guys, are still rolling with some pretty damn fine females, the ones that are with their girlfriends at least. This brings me to another topic, which I may touch on and bust a thread on at some point, the issue with dating and how men and women match up in terms of looks, status, and sexual market value in the U.S. Aside from guys who maybe classically handsome, I am always surprised when I see some scrawny, gay looking Euro guy with a hot chick, and think ¨damn you would never see those two together in the U.S.¨

It is only upper class kids who indulge in the androgynous look. Working class guys would get their ass kicked if they walked around like that in the suburbs. So you could say the gay look is, weirdly, a sign of social status. This can explain why these guys often have hot girls. The blog hot chicks with douchebags has a special category "gay or european" dedicated to that. I hope this trend dies fast.

Lethal combination of Balkan power in slavic dominated environment encircled by power Germanics keeping the cash flow.Generally the flow of money from Germany to slavic enclaves and of women to the opposite direction.

Funny thread, I will just comment on one aspect, the lifting weights and martial arts. I doubt this has anything to do with the harder dating market in the US. In Brazil men have been lifting for a long time and steroid use is widespread, and this was the case even 10 years ago, when girls were super-easy (they're still easy imo) and the obesity thing hadn't arrived yet. As someone else pointed out, lifting and wrestling was big in ancient Greece and Rome, particularly among the upper class, guys who had no difficulty finding pussy (it's especially the upper and upper middle/middle class guys who lift in Brazil too). Earlier in the century Germany had a very strong workout culture, and now Eastern Europeans still do, despite the women there being thin and generally pleasant.

Being strong and knowing how to fight I think are just the desires of many men, and have been especially popular among the upper classes in societies where manliness is not frowned upon; after WW2, Western Europe has become a conquered province basically, pussified, and in Germany a cult of say lifting and boxing would be considered "fascist" ...Europhile lefties in the US have the same attitude, and I was called "fascist" for my interest in these things. The Western European doesn't forego weights and fighting because he's more secure or because he can get women more easily, but because he's been pussified by 50-60 years of an emasculating philosophy of life and way of life. The smarmy, limpwristed way I've seen some Western Euro males try to criticize those who improve their bodies and become stronger and tougher, and their use of the word "macho" as if it was an insult, is entirely like the SWPL left fags in the US, and has the same motivations.

America has its own problems, obesity, softness, and being politically taken advantage of by an evil govt. and doing nothing about it, men allowing themselves to be dispossessed in their own country, and so on; and Europe, especially France (yes, France) has pockets of masculine, tough men, etc., etc.; but insofar as Western European males look down on lifting, working out, and learning how to fight, an attitude which is indeed widespread in that province, that's not a sign of security or a good sexual market, but of foregoing the physical and spiritual readiness for defense, which has been part of the Western way of life for men since the ancient Greeks...especially, I might add, for the upper classes. In ancient Greek cities slaves were not allowed to train in gyms or to get physical training. Modern West European males are grooming themselves for slavery. It doesn't help to point out that in the US, and increasingly in Brazil or elsewhere, sloth, effeminacy and weakness are spreading as well.

Yes, ancient Greeks had the proverb "mind healthy in healthy body" which we still use.
They regarded wrestling as the top Olympic sport.

I actually have close ties with the US and know the country very well. Hell, the vast majority of my net worth is tied up in US dollars.

But I still think it's a place to make money, not spend it (although God knows I've spent enough dough in the US).

I actually can't remember what this thread was originally about -- something about the OP going nuts over seeing faggy Euro guys with Euro girls he'd never get back in the US.

I think what provoked the shit storm was that instead of just going to LIVE in Europe and trying to understand life from a different point of view, he just assumed the world should work as he saw it and ridiculed an entire continent based on a few Euro tourists to Mexico.

OG end of the day, if you see skinny pussy guys with hot chicks, that's like seeing a fat ugly Mexican with a 9... One word opportunity

I love seeing ugly dudes everywhere, it means you're now the best option... Should be a red carpet walk if that's the case.

Reason why I quoted temujin is because I have no idea how he pulled off his lifestyle and am curious. No problems with bashing on us Americans running game version 3.7525372 but how did you set up your expatriation (if originally from here)?

I read so many crappy examples/situations on both sides of the pond that i'm not even bothered responding to them. I just want to make a few things clear about Europe.

THERE IS NO EUROPE. It exists only as a name on the map. Unfortunately there is the European union who speaks and thinks as Europe as a whole. This is utterly failed left wing political correct crap and wishful idealistic multicultural thinking.

Europe as a place on the map contains some 50 countries most of the people in the world haven't even heard of. I've been to about 16 of them.

About 50 DIFFERENT countries! Half of them use the Euro. Comparing the US to Europe is utterly useless since the US have one culture which is similar all over the country. (same lifestyle, dollar, language, music, food, sports, politics etc etc) and Europe well, has 50 different cultures including their food, language, (work)ethics, attitude, sports etc etc (although football is pretty consistent as the most popular sport everywhere).

How in the world can you compare a Swedish or Danish person (heavily leaning on leftist socialism) with someone from Albania or Bosnia (predominantly muslim)?

The differences between East and west Europe are great and the differences between North/west and South are just as big. Even within Western Europe the countries differ greatly.

Not even 20 years ago Yugoslavia split up into 5 countires after a bloody genocidal war with thousands and thousands of people killed, tortured and raped. How to compare this with for example the Finland,Belgium or Poland?

What would you say if i said the US has roughly the same culture as Ecuador or Cambodia? Those countries pay with the US dollar too.

The US is rough the same size as the whole of Europe. Imagine every American state having its own language and culture.

I predict and hope that the European Union will break up as soon as possible. Western countries paying the corrupt debt of Southern European countries. Eastern European people migrating en masse to the west to be cheap labour and afterwards drain the social systems. Open borders for everone to come in and steal stuff and leave unnoticed.
I don't think this would go on for another 10 years. At least I hope not. The whole concept of Europe already stinks. There are 11000 people working in some sort of job for the EU union making more money than the president of Holland (around 18000 dollar net a month). That is just ridiculous. What the fuck are all those unknown and un-elected people doing? And that's just the top layer. It's just one political correct idealistic circle jerk of people dividing the high paying bullshit jobs among themselves.

About "Europeans" being weak: Yes, "we" don't idolize violence (including violent sports like MMA, boxing and American hand-egg) and the military as much as Americans do. Our cultures go thousands of years deep. We have different things to talk about. Besides that if it weren't for the European wars, the US would not be the super power it is today. And don't forget that "American" culture was mainly imported by European settlers from England, France, Holland (santa claus, half the names in New York, the words yankee and dollar), Ireland and Italy.

Sports
It doesn't mean we don't like competitive sports or that we suck at it. (Holland won 15 out of 18 years fighting in the K1 World kickboxing tournaments. Basically at east 3 or 4 of the last final 8 fighters were Dutch or had the dutch double nationality)

On average Northern Europeans are A LOT taller then the rest of the world including Americans. I'm talking about at least 7 to 10 cm (3 to 4 inches) taller. I was shocked how short Americans were when in New York and I'm 188 cm (6.2) Not even super tall.

Every time I see a jacked or buffed dude being 10 cm shorter then me I laugh inside because it shows his inferiority complex. The shorter they are and the more buffed they are, the more insecure they look. You may be bigger but i'm still towering over you dude.
Girls smell this insecurity a mile away.

I work out too but not to impress other people. You don't think I'm slaving away in the gym 5 times a week and stay on the caveman diet for girls do you? I wasn't working out at all when traveling and still laid pipe a lot.

Don't wanna make this too long though.

Here a list of European countries. How many have you actually heard of and do you even know what language they speak?

Albania
Andorra
Armenia
Austria
Azerbaijan
Belarus (not European in my opinion)
Belgium
Bosnia/Herzegovina
Bulgaria
Croatia
Cyprus
Czechia
Denmark
Estonia
Finland
France
Georgia
Germany
Greece
Hungary
Iceland
Ireland
Italy
Latvia
Liechtenstein
Lithuania
Luxembourg
Macedonoa
Malta
Moldova
Monaco
Montenegro
Netherlands [Image: smile.gif]
Norway
Poland
Portugal
Romania
Russia ( Not european in my opinion, maybe a small part)
San Marino
Serbia
Slovakia
Slovenia
Spain
Sweden
Switzerland
Ukraine (borderline European)
United Kingdom
Vatican City

Here's a map of the major languages in Europe (I don't count Russia or turkey as Europe) There are probably hundreds of regional dialects too.
Even in a small country like Holland we have two official languages and people speaking in dialect from different parts of the country can barely understand each other.

Americans used to the tallest. We are shorter than the Dutch, who are the tallest, but you can't really form an opinion of Americans' height based on a trip to NYC. NYC is basically just a large migrant slum with an American population of maybe 5%. It would be like me trolling around the Moroccan slums of Amsterdam and then reaching negative conclusions about the physical attributes of the "Dutch."

@lemmo,

To be honest, I find it hard to believe that only 5% of the New York population is "real" American.

Well, been to DC also and besides that I met hundreds of Americans while traveling for three years.

I think the average in Holland is 6.0 but it would be at least 6.2 if it weren't for the 1.5 million foreigners in Holland from predominately short countries who are seriously averaging us "real" Dutch down. Not being a racist but based on height this is true. Of course this is highly political incorrect to say. Thats why its not in the newspapers but it is in scientific magazines.

What do you consider "American"? A lot of the what you say are migrants could be US born and raised[Image: angry.gif]

I'm a British guy who lives in Los Angeles - it really depends where you go. In the eastern side of downtown there's a lot of central americans and they're tiny. Many guys are barely 5'2"...go to to the south bay, where it's mostly white and the average guy there is around 5'10".

In downtown I'm a giant, in the southbay I'm average.

From my observations a lot of American guys are more buff than British guys, but I wouldn't consider them more macho. The beach cities are all about guys being in shape. Away from the coasts and hollywood, many guys are obese.
