I just got back from there. Language is a problem. I found more English in Saigon, but for the most part many of the girls seem to only speak broken English. Its not exactly Belarus, but this place is no Philippines either. They are also quite conservative, so you will have to put a bit of work in with them. I can concur on their looks though, probably the best I have seen in SE Asia for my tastes, and there are some banging bodies out there too.
I can agree with Babababalot's views on Hanoi, and his description is very close to what I experienced. I have been there in the past too and its actually a really cool city. Its a lot more cosmopolitan than many people would expect and there is a buzz about the place. Tons of small little bars and restaurants that would not be out of place in Europe, along with the larger venues one would expect of a large city like Hanoi.
If I was going to choose between Saigon and Hanoi, I would choose Hanoi in a heartbeat. If you could make 3k a month teaching English there, you would be living very comfortably.

this job pays $30.50-33.50 per hour in hanoi/ho chi minh city:
http://www.britishcouncil.org/vietnam-co...nglish.htm
that is not bad! requires 2 years min teaching experience but i guess it wouldn't be a bad life getting paid $4000 per month (assuming 30-35 hours per week) at 26yo in hanoi (2015). could realistically save $2000-3000 per month.
you would also get access to the expat scene which is filled with bright, commercially successful people and find avenues to transition into business and/or build passive income on the side.
and you're surrounded by possibly the finest pussy in SEA.

Interesting. I'm not much into Asians, but I do find Phillipina women to be pretty attractive. It's probably that Spanish mix. Haven't met many Vietmanese though. Could be a nice potential poosy paradise from what some people are saying.

I'm intrigued, I'm going to do a google search now! I've never really had a thing for SEA women, but guys keep putting out reports on here...
Vortuka - I can confirm that Bogota does indeed get pretty chilly. I'd liken it's climate to that of London, maybe milder.

My experiences from Vietnam in 2010 were not that good. I went there with some friends while we were studying in Bangkok. The main reason I didn't like it is the poor nightlife and the unpleasant people.
First I stayed in Ho Chi Minh City for a few days, then did some relaxing at the Mekong delta (Mytho) and ended up most of my time at a beach city called Nha Trang about a 10 h bus ride from Ho Chi Minh City.
On this trip I banged only 2 girls which is not a lot considering that we went out almost every night and usually I would get laid every time (it's really easy in SE Asia).
The women were not nice, and they were not better looking than thai IMO. I've banged a really hot Vietnamese girl in Finland, but still she is not that nice. There is something wrong with them...
I would not consider moving to Vietnam ever. It is a socialist (communist) country with what seems as very unhappy people. It's okay to see for its history and scenery, but don't get your hopes up about the women. I've known some people that said they enjoyed Vietnam a lot, but I ain't buying it. These are people that always say they had a blast even if they had been in prison getting ass raped.

Hanoi I found to be an extremely miserable place for living. Weather is terrible - hot as hell with no wind for 6 months, then freezing/cloudy/depressing for 4 months.
Can you go into more detail about the weather there in winter? I ask because something that ruled out me ever spending extended periods in SEA is the humid tropical weather. It does not agree and I prefer a nice north European climate. Therefore my interest was piqued up when I read you said it was freezing in winter. Are we talking needing a jacket and sweater weather?
It's quite simple really. Vietnam is divided in the middle by a bunch of mountains. What this means is all the clouds are "captured" in N. Vietnam for 4 MONTHS STRAIGHT. Clouds = freezing, even if it's relatively close to the equator. And yes, that means jackets/sweaters, INCLUDING when you are INDOORS because there is no fucking HEATING.
The only upside was seeing hilarious foreigners in Hanoi expecting tropical weather for NYE and the shock on their faces when they saw how depressingly cloudy it was XD. Also, Sherif is semi-right. The people there *are* generally unhappy and strict. If you have a blast in VN it's prob due to luck, otherwise the happiness comes from mass amounts of connections you make
Hanoi has
average lows of 56.7 in January, the coldest month, with a daily mean of 61.7.
It is a stark contrast from the south of Vietnam where it is perennially 70+ for average lows, but temperatures of 50s to 60s are hardly freezing, although they may catch people off guard.
60s would still be potentially t-shirt weather for people from colder climates.

Fair enough. Ha yeah, Apocalypse is pretty dregs. I'd agree with you on the Viet girls being more conservative too. They do smile less, though I kinda thought that when they did smile, it was more genuine. I guess at that point I was pretty sick of Thailand though so Vietnam was a welcome change.

In the end, Vietnamese girls are more girlfriend material than Thais and Pinays in general. So if you are SE Asia, they are a welcome respite to all the easy girls you bang in Thailand and the Philippines.
To make an analogy they are like FSU girls and Thais and Pinays are like Croatian and Polish girls respectively.
Though through pipelining the 21 to 25 yr old english speaking demographic, you can do pretty well in Vietnam also.
