@G- Fly girls, a few. Most just run of the mill average to cute.

This was my first time there, but heres the breakdown- A few hipsters, a few white girls, a few latinas, a bunch of thai girls. I think it would be hard to swoop them because everybody is sitting down at tables. The thai girls (biggest % there) show up in big groups of 3-6 girls. Not sure how to swing the swoop in that situation.

This is more a spot to get your food and drink on (until 4am when they close) and continue the night. The novelty of drinking out of teacups is great.

Ill PM you the name. If anybody else wants it, PM me.

Edit- G your PM box is full. Ill try again later.

2nd Edit- Bathroom line chat and number crunch might be a possibility. Theres only a single stall bathroom for each side (Man/woman). Can be big lines which gives time to close some girls #s. A few girls smoking cigs outside as well.

WIA- For most of men, our time being masters of our own fate, kings in our own castles is short. Even those of us in the game will eventually succumb to ease of servitude rather than deal with the malaise of solitude

Man, the more I go out in LA, the more I realize I should be suited-up... =(.

I went to Honor Bar for dinner in Beverly Hills last night (fantastic spicy chicken sandwich and best beef burger I've had in LA). As I was looking for parking I see a complete shit-show. A line of 100k+ car been driven past, limos, a line of slinky hot women, older gentleman in suits.

We finished dinner and I told my friends of my find. We decide to go check it out. We walk towards this event and I see the parking lot. BMW Alpina B7, BMW 7-series black on black w/black rims, Audi A-8, high-end mercedes, ferraris, lambos, then Saleen S7, Mclaren F1, and a few other RARE supercars (aka not Ferrarri, Lambo or Porsche). At least 4 million dollars in that parking lot.

Obligatory car-porn pictures....[Image: Saleen-S7-Twin-Turbo-2.jpg]

[Image: images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTgKla4ApliKEdRGy8-tG1...7YQesRsUuA]

I am wondering wtf is going on. As we walk closer, its an art-gallery called Ace gallery. On the corner of beverly and wilshire.

We walk up and I just try walking straight in (like a sneaky spy). I am wearing slacks, a turqoise v-neck and black military jacket.

I get busted because my friends are in jeans and regular clothing. F-ck. If it was just me, I probably woulda gotten in. Oh well. G-manifesto in his custom suit and pocket square woulda swooped right in. G-manifesto- 1. DVY-0.

Yeah, Suited Down gives you a monsterous edge in LA.

I would never go out non-Suited in LA.

Could the 2.a.m. death-grip on Cali nightlife be coming to an end?

http://blogs.laweekly.com/informer/2013/...fornia.php

Quote:Quote:

Young tourists seeking a taste of Los Angeles nightlife are almost always in for a bitter pill.

Expecting Hollywood glamour and all-night partying on a world-class level, revelers from out of town are more likely to get kicked to the curb at 2 a.m. because of California's strict alcohol laws.

It's embarrassing. State Sen. Mark Leno today announced that he has introduced legislation that would change our party pooper ways:

He wants to allow local governments to extend drinking hours until 4 a.m. Woot-woot?

Leno:

This legislation would allow destination cities like San Francisco, Los Angeles and San Diego to start local conversations about the possibility of expanding nightlife and the benefits it could provide the community by boosting jobs, tourism and local tax revenue.

His bill, SB 635, would allow only nightclubs and restaurants to go until 4 a.m. (Stores that sell alcohol would still be subject to earlier hours).

Leno's office says it would help bring California nightlife in line with that of such after-hours beacons as Las Vegas, New York, Chicago and Miami.

The legislation is supported by the California Restaurant Association.

What's interesting is that you can't convince the legislators unless there's an economic incentive. People wanting to better enjoy their lives isn't reason enough unless it adds to the state's bottom line. That's America for you.

I don't want to get our hopes up too much but let's cross our fingers, boys. I think it's bound to happen eventually. Maybe we can finally become a world-class nightlife city as we deserve. [Image: dancingman.gif]

Interesting.

Doubt it will happen though.

Quote:Quote:

Some have argued that having all the drunk people leave bars at 2 a.m. puts pressure on communities and police, and that later closing times might actually spread the burden and allow some to sober up if they so chose.

Matt Gray, executive director of Taxpayers for Improving Public Safety:

Uniform closing times put significant stress on public transportation systems and the law enforcement agencies tasked with managing and dispersing large crowds of patrons when they all leave the clubs at 2 a.m.

I have been saying this for years.

Also, interesting that it is a politician from SF that is proposing this.

A Democrat. A liberal. From SF.

This should spool up all the conservative closet h*mosexuals that always say the liberals are the problem.

Liberals are Playboys. Conservatives are always closet gay or male cheerleaders. That is just the way it is.

You heard it here first, that if this happens (again, doubt it) it will happen in SF first. Diego last.

My girl is trying to get me to move to LA. She wants to go to acting school [Image: dodgy.gif]. I'm not really about it. I love CA, but not LA in particular. It would cost us a shit ton of money to even move there. We would without a doubt need a car, and it's expensive cost of living. It could be a good career move, but there are lots of good places we could be to make money. I'm trying to tell her all this, but I don't think she's really getting it. I think she's thinking it's as easy to make a living in the states as it is in Switerland (Where she's from), but she might be in for a reality check. Not to mention her acting school is going to probably be expensive as fuck.

Speak,

Dead-on about bottom line being one of the only thing that moves politicians. I think it has to do with the puritanical streak in Americans. To a large segment of the population, it's not acceptable to say they're going to remove restrictions "to have more fun."

This is a really exciting development. I hadn't heard anything about it. It would be amazing if this goes through.

I don't wanna be an asshole, but is she talented and attractive? Sorry, just got to ask, because if she isn't talented she will just be one of the thousands of talent less women, that rely on looks.

I dabble in the the film biz, sat through a few casting calls. And ya they are hot, but if they can't act they don't get cast unless they are screwing someone - or someone hopes to screw them.

Does she have a noticeable accent? It costs more to learn how to correct an accent. Also, I had some casting calls and it was noticeable that the actresses were working so hard to say the words right, that there was no acting.

Her costs will be high. For acting school, various websites (monthly fees) to find acting opportunities. Head shots, etc.

I am new and rarely post - but I really wanted to point out some real potential issues.

IMDB is scattered with actresses with one credit and it was a short. They never get anywhere. Also, there are talented actresses and they compete with other talented actresses.

This is a random analogy - but imagine an elite college. Every highschool student who gets in was probably in the top 1% of their school. But when they graduated 99% of them will not be the badass they were in highschool. Same thing with acting. The only people who make money in acting are the companies that provide services. Much like real estate agents, escrow title, banks, etc make money when people buy homes. The buyer generally just gets slapped around with fees.

Hope this helps.

A 4am last call would be great in LA and other large cities in Cali. Hope it happens.

Another thing that has to happen in Cali is the complete legalization of marijuana. I know they will try again for a ballot proposition in the future.

If both of these things happen, then Cali will become a major party destination.

False, SF will become similar to NY. LA will still suck because of the driving/logistics factors.

Dude, you're 100% right and I was thinking this the whole time. There's no way. I'm just hoping she gets over the idea. At first she wanted to sign up for acting school in Zurich and I was thinking, "Cool, she found a hobby she wants to get into." But then she found out she had to go to school for 3 years and planned on moving out here, so she said she wanted to move to LA and take the classes. She has a pretty heavy accent, and it's not even a complete German accent. Turkish and German are both her first languages, so it's a little mix of both I guess. Her English is good, but not good enough. There is no way she'd make it, and if she did, it would take forever and it would probably set us back a ton. I didn't see the post as you being an asshole, I saw the post as you being a realist. I was thinking the same damn thing.

Making it in L.A. has very little to do with talent. Talented actors go to NY. Actors come to L.A. to make it big, but this only happens by meeting the right people.

I've known several that "made it". Two of them made it, a girl and a guy, because they were servers at a restaurant where the GM was best friends with a casting director. They're both not very talented actors (but they are good looking)

Anyone try this Latin club in Glendale? http://www.ladiosausa.com/ I'm tempted to try this as I'm mainly into Latinas. As a white guy, my Spanish is intermediate and Salsa skills are emerging. Stays open late (I think 3am) so maybe a good last stop?

I've been there once before with Azulsombra. It's cool. It's not only Salsa, some hiphop too IIRC. Don't expect to see anyone there that isn't Latino. One Mexican chic asked me why I was there. Not in any fucked up way. She was cool about it, I was sitting at a table with her and her friends. She assumed I was Afro-Latino and was a bit surprised that a non-Latino black dude would show up there.

I was't blown away by the talent, but there was some good ones. If you live nearby there shouldn't be too hard to pull.
