I'm all about those petite, dainty, kinda ditzy, adorable asian girls. I'd be in heaven if the place is crawling with girls like that.

Sorry to burst your bubble but girls like that are rare in Vietnam. The girls in Ho Chi Minh are SHARP not dainty. If you go to the north, they are even more so to the point of being manipulative. I've spend over a year there and can count these type of girls on one hand.

I've heard people say that about every country in SEA, but the consensus seems to be that the large majority of them are sweet and feminine, I'm just going to have to see for myself.

Spot on.
VN girls really put you on edge. If this guy wants "bubbly" girls, he should visit a high school in Korea.

sup yall, planning a HCMC trip in January. 've been talking to a chick I met in Melbourne that's been all around Vietnam, and she's telling me to be careful while out drinking and what not... she told me a story about her being out drinking and watching people slip date rape drugs in her beer and what not, but I'm sure her experiences as a blonde 24 year old will differ from mine as a 24 year old black guy, anything I should be knowledgable of in Vietnam particularly HCMC concerning safety/security?

I'm really excited to go and idgaf if it's a third world country, I just wanna see the sights, enjoy good food, and meet new people, but I also wanna be sure of what I'll be getting myself into beforehand

I'll be in HCMC later this month but only for a few days, so I was thinking to pipeline in advance. I created a profile on Vietnam Cupid and on the upside I'm getting a lot of messages and 'interest'. The downside is that many, if not most of the girls, state that they are looking for their future husband / mr. right / someone to get old with etc. While this could be seen as a testament to their virtues as women, it doesn't sound so promising for someone who only has a few days to meet and bang girls. So I'm wondering if those of you who have had some experience with that website could shed a light on the "chasteness" of the girls on it. How many dates would it usually take for them to be DTF? Any first date bangs? It seems to me that most of the members here who met girls off this site did so on a long term stay in HCM so I'm curious if anyone had success with it on a short trip. And if any of you have tried both Vietnam Cupid and Tinder in HCMC, a comparison would be much appreciated.
I should probably also mention that I don't want to lie about the length of my stay or deceive anyone.
At any rate I will report back my experiences after the trip.

While I would still wait for a new answer by someone who has been there, I can share from what I have gathered on reading a lot in more threads. One person said that how 2nd date bang is the norm. Meet them on 1st time, then 2nd date thy should be set to come to your place. I can kinda tell easily who looks more conservative in VN so filtering girls can be done easily. And a bit back in this thread, someone said how the best way to optimize things and get every day bangs with all 2nd day-type women, you meet 2 during the day for quick dates then you meet 1 in the evening, that you wanted to bang and this one would be a second date and have been previously on one of those afternoon meets.

In Philippines, people observed how dinners were not even needed to bang the chicks. If you can do it in VN, I would have made 1 short date in the morning, one afternoon to bang one and a quick meet in the evening for the second one. The one of the 2 quick dates that seemed like they will be easier, will be chosen as higher priority for upcoming bang. But if it is true that dinner is sooo important, then the bang girl will have to be at night with dinner. We need confirmation from others if dinner is indeed way more important than in Philippines. I am sure there are girls in HCm what you can bang without dinner, like always happens in Philpines, but I don;t know how rare or common this is. I am going there after Philippines that is why I am looking into details for there too.

You answered your own question really. Re-route your flight to Manila for easy lays.

PM me for accommodation options in Bangkok.

I read the same things as you but most of this information was posted around 2012 so it might be a bit dated. After all, online dating has changed a lot since then with the rise of Tinder and similar apps. Even the local society including girls' attitudes could have changed to an extent, considering that Vietnam is a rapidly developing country and that Saigon is probably the most westernized place in Vietnam. That's why I was hoping someone who was recently there could share his experiences.

The main purpose of my trip is to travel in Vietnam, especially in the rural regions of the north, so re-routing is not really an option. However, since I'm landing in HCMC and can stay there for a few days I might as well make an effort to bang some local chicks.

Thought I'd share an amusing chat I had with a HCMC girl on okcupid that can be seen as a cautionary tale:

me: I can't tell what you really look like. Your photos are very different from each other.
her: I'm ugly
her: And fat [Image: sad.gif]
me: Don't be so hard on yourself, you seem pretty cute to me (seemed like a 7 on her best photo, 6 on the rest)
her: I fix them
her: A lot

It's funny that she deceptively manipulated her photos but then came forward very honestly about it. I also saw a photo on a girl's profile where she photoshopped her tits to look bigger. How do I know? Because she forgot to remove the original copy of that photo...

Living in district 3 been here for a week. Staying by the canal. I love this place definitely a good decision. Definitely not for everyone though.

How hard is it to find clean decent studios like this in HCM? 250 usd for your own place seems pretty good. Little on the small side. 300 usd might be the better deal for something a little bigger.

Good luck sleeping, sounds like it's right next to the metro station under construction. Those types of serviced studios are easy to find. Finding one that's also clean and looks like the one in the video is going to take more work though.

Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag. We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language. And we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people.

Yea, would have to double check the sound level. Not sure what my tolerance level is for sleeping.

Not sure if this was mentioned. How's the wifi connection in HCMC? Any frequent drops and disconnecting, slow service?

The city sounds ideal for working online while living cheaply, since cost of living is rising in BKK and Chiang Mai is played out or too small for most people's needs.

There is no 4g in Vietnam, only 3g. So your connection will be a lot slower than what you are used to. Wifi is slow and sometimes cuts out. I got frustrated trying to work at a cafe near a major mall in district 1.

If you want good connectivity and amenities, go to BKK. Yes, HCMC is a cheap place but if you want the amenities, you'll pay more for them than you would in BKK.

This runs contrary to how you might think, but wifi at the more popular cafes in Vietnam is actually WORSE than smaller ones. I usually don't have a problem surfing the web at hole in the wall places, but Trung Nguyen, Highlands, etc are shit.

Internet speed is good, but connections are prone to dropping without warning. That, and the Asia-America Gateway that delivers sweet, sweet Internets from the states breaks down multiple times per year, often for weeks at a time. That means American sites like YouTube, Google, Facebook, etc. load at dial-up speeds. As a writer, this is frustrating enough--I can't imagine trying to do web design or work another online gig that requires constant web access.

I would recommend the 4th floor room with a balcony at christina's saigon. It's a mix between an airbnb and a hostel. It's also located by everything in D1

I think this is worth mentioning. It's ILLEGAL to take a local woman up to your hotel room. The hotel front desk workers get paid by the cops to report you... so they do it all the time. 90% chance you get a girl up to your room and start getting hot and heavy... then the cops knock on the door. You pay a fine and the girl runs off and is so embarrassed she never talks to you again! The cops will treat her like a hooker!

Make sure your hotel is cool with local girls as guests before hand... or rent an apartment where it's Ok.

Other tips. Never hold your cell phone out. People will snatch it from your hand as they drive by on a scooter. Expect people will jack up prices on you. Watch for pickpockets. Those are some of the basics.
