Try Aloe Vera mentioned in this thread. I use Aloe Vera gel on my face and neck after being out and about in the Sun (with SPF 50+ sunscreen of course). It feels great and heals the skin.

Aloe also helps in clearing up acne.

Does anyone have any idea on how to get rid on an oily nose?

Currently I'm using an oil free facewash in the morning and though it helps a little, I'm looking for a more permanent solution.

I recently started applying lemon juice to my face to remove blackheads.

It works surprisingly well!

It cleanses the skin as well and leaves the skin looking wonderfully radiant at an extremely affordable price.

*Don't use it if you have a cut on your face or just after busting a zit because that shit can sting!

*You should moisturise after application because lemon juice dries out the skin.

In the past, I've used sulfur masks, benzyl peroxide creams & face washes, salycic acid creams and face washes, and tee tree oil for acne.

Started using neem lotion on my face and body last week to alleviate dark spots and acne. It's helped quite a bit so far.

I used a Braun for years, switched to Gillette Fusion Glide. If you're going to shave every day, then I'd go with the Braun as it's not as punishing on your face. I shave twice a week, and the Fusion gives me an absolute baby-soft face, but irritates my face if I shave daily. I don't use any shaving cream.

Great thread. A couple of people have written about this in other threads, but it should also be part of this thread... old-school wet shaving.

I use 3 items in my shaving routine that some guys do not use:

1. badger hair shaving brush
   
2. old-school shaving soap
   
3. a heavy safety razor (with appropriate blades)
   
   
   

Steps:

1. It really helps to step out of a hot shower. Your pores are open.
2. Soak shaving brush in hot water.
3. Froth brush in shaving soap. This will help keep your face hot and pores open.
4. Apply to face. Your hairs should be a lot softer and easier to shave now.
5. Shave down (with the grain) with your safety razor. Be extra careful when using a new blade.
6. Rinse with cold water. I don't use aftershave.
   

This routine has made shaving a totally new experience for me. My father, being cheap as hell, still uses 2-blade disposable razors. After making wet-shaving part of my routine, I have no idea how people were convinced to use that crap.

My facial hair gets a lot of compliments because I let it grow out for just a few days. Shaving down also keeps my facial hair growing in the same direction. Dare I say, my facial hair looks like this gay-ass mofo:



After even a week of growth like the picture above, my routine does the job, without even needing a trimmer. The key is the opening of the pores and softening of the skin due to the hot water, which makes it easier to remove the hair. I've tried using a disposable razor to do the job after a lot of growth, and the hair-pulling that ensued was just too painful. Not to mention I had to throw away the razor after just one use.

The total investment is rather high when you think about what most people use to shave their face: a good brush can set you back $20, soap is about $10 (although lasts a long-ass time), and a good safety razor (don't skimp on this) can set you back about $30.

However, after this initial investment, 100-razor boxes cost $15 at most, and that's a damn near lifetime supply.

Compare this to $30 refills for 8 Gillette Fusion cartridges, and after a while the investment evens out. Either way, the shave is so much more pleasant and smooth, it's worth the extra cash up front to me.

I have no idea how shaving with disposable razors ever caught on, but I'm never going back.

Have been using it for 6 months and my skin has never felt better. No better way for the skin around your eyes to stay fresh when you are a right boozy trashbag.

Take Zinc.

I've had problems in the past with rosacea on my cheeks, under my eyes and surrounding my nose. It's awful, ugly and annoying. Zinc did the job for me without even realizing it. I happen to stop noticing it and then read up on how zinc is a great treatment for rosacea and zinc is the only supplement I've taken religiously for years. The only times I've noticed it the past few years was when I would slack on taking it (50mg-150mg/day).

Heres the tip Ive got though I havnt tried on me. I have a facial scar from hitting a wall head first close to my right eye but its doesnt really stands out so I havnt been bothered to remove it.

Get a cheap bottle of aspirin from a discount pharmacy. Grind the aspirin up to a fine powder and mix it with some face cream to make a paste, and apply liberally over the scar before bed.

Both of them said that it worked for them to help fight their wrinkles. I don't know if they are making money from their reviews from Beenigma (though both of them offer a discount 25% off in their videos). I've been aware of Aaron Marino of Alpha M. for quite a few years (well before I came to RVF) and I would say that I trust the guy after chatting with him online on several occasions.

I know guys in their their 30s (or late 20s) could use all the help they can get to stay looking young in the face.

I'm thinking I may buy it and try it out. It's expensive ~$130 ($100 w/ discount) but it lasts a really long time since you use it so sparingly.

How do you get rid of dead skin when showering quickly? I tend to have a lot at least once a week, and I use my nails to remove it but takes at least 10 minutes. This happens even when I use anti dandruff, I think you always have deadskin. Some sort of ex-foliating brush?

I started applying Retin A cream. Its for acne but you can use for normal skin. Look it up.

Here's something that seems to have helped clear up my skin dramatically. It's very simple.

A humidifier.

I have one running almost 24/7 in my room now and since I started, the redness on my face is almost gone.

This seems to help for those in dry areas. Just buy a humidifier and try it, see if it helps. Run one non-stop in your bedroom and perhaps in other rooms of your home or at work/school.

Who here gets red eyes?? I have this problem and its really annoying. I finally got the Restasis rx and I am starting that this week. Eye doc also told me about Naphcon to take it away.

Yeti - good call on the humidifier. I am firing mine up today. Especially in these dry as hell radiator heated apartments in the winter, its especially key.

Mine is so effective that the sheets on my bed get a bit damp when I run it non-stop for a day or two. All of that moisture will be on your face as well while you sleep, making you beautiful (no-homo).

There are a bunch but it depends on what you need. Consumer Reports has a list of the best ones.
