Never stay in a country if your dislike of its people is such that it will transpire and local people will perceive it.

I was just suggesting that maybe someone could ask filipinas on dating sites about what is being discussed here, i.e. why do some of them go for westerners.

By the way I was being facetious, it's just that most people go to Manila so their views are based on what it's like there, as opposed to the country as a whole. When people say that they went to Manila and this and that happened and the girls were like this or that, I don't take it too seriously because it could very well be quite different in other towns and cities.

I don't see the appeal of Manila anyway. It's overcrowded, noisy, hectic, and most of it is either slums or artificial modernized areas with no authenticity, and not much in between.

For a country that was occupied by Spain it really should be much nicer. It should be like Mexico. I think they should drag the whole country across the Pacific so that it's right next to Latin America where it belongs. See this is what happens when you don't colonize a country thoroughly enough.

I guess it all depends on what you are doing there and where you are spending your time.

If you're just doing the BGC - Makati circuit hooking up with club / tinder sluts...then yeah you might get the odd glare here and there, though I would say most of what you'll get is indifference. Most people won't even look at you.

However, if you ever do get serious with a woman here, and you meet the family and spend some time in the local neighborhoods, you're going to have a much different experience. The hospitality is incredible really. People will do just about anything for a guest.

The appeal of Manila, is that it has the hottest girls hands down and their easy to find, plus a cool night life set up which I enjoy. Too be fair I have been to two cities only. I plan on going to Davao and the other cities as well.

I do not mind their more western personalities in Manila either, people bitch about it but honestly those really goody two shoe virgins from Asia will not be happy with you sleeping around and they will not know what they are doing sexually. Something that happened to me, judge by yourself: I was sitting next to a filipino woman and a filipino man in a flight from Puerto Princessa to Manila. They were colleagues coming back home to Manila after a business trip to Puerto Princessa. After we were talking and they found out where I wanted to got after the landing (Mindoro), they got me a cab, so I don't get cheated, the man went in the cab with me, drove with me to the bus station payed the cab driver and showed me the correct bus. They insisted on all of that and I didn't have a chance to pay the cab or anything. They were very eager l to leave a good impression of filipinos and were so sorry that unhonest filipinos exist.

Fair point and very true, however, the other places are real shit holes, let's be honest... I guess it's an adventure to live there for a while and I have... but it does get very, very old.

You still missed the point: The hot Manila girls WERE as sweet and submissive as only the province girls are now, 5+ years ago. And they were just as slutty back then.

In fact from talking to some guys I think they're still as DTF as they always were... just you gotta actually be handsome now to experience it and/or have great pics and/or really work (and I mean work!) the offline pickup.

At which point the whole situation begs the question... why be here, other than the natural beauty of the country, beaches and islands? The thing that made Philippines famous in the first place is no more.

I've been to the Philippines hundreds of times with Google Earth Airlines, and although the other cities aren't that great, for the most part they seem a bit better. Less hectic, and in parts a bit nicer albeit a bit rough around the edges. I've noticed that if you took away all the government buildings, universities, colleges, schools and churches, the architecture that would be left would be pretty poor. And they don't really have parks.

I like Baguio. It's hilly, so you always have some nice views, it's got the most reasonable climate, and there are plenty of trees so you feel like you're close to nature. And some of the buildings are quite nice.

Zamboanga isn't bad either. It ought to have a beach right there by the coast but I don't think it does. But it's kind of in the middle of nowhere on that peninsula.

Cagayan de oro seems ok too but it could be better. And there are some beaches within maybe 15 mins drive I guess.

Olongapo is almost what I would be looking for. Compact, nestled in mountains, and beaches nearby. But I've heard that it's a bit hectic, traffic wise.

Iloilo looks rundown.

Dumaguete is ok but it should be bigger and they should have a beach.

Overall, they haven't made the best of their cities. I see potential here and there but there's more ugliness and drabness than beauty. When you compare any city there with cities in Italy or Spain, it's night and day. It's a shame.

When i'm president I'll write a letter to the king of Spain saying please come back, we need you. Give us nice buildings, build cities by the beaches and mountains, improve our cuisine, dress our girls in flamenco costumes and teach us spanish again. Por pabor!!!

For me, part of the appeal of Manila is the crazy factor. It's just insane. The noise, the traffic, the garbage, the culture...it's just unlike any other place on the planet.

I mean I need to get away from it after a while, but it's always good to get back.

Filipinos are also nuts about American movies and culture. I have heard girls talk about certain men not "being in their league". An obvious American reference.

The days of having the big man on campus feeling when in the Philippines are probably gone. As for me, I refuse to "game" mediocre girls.

Different from what we're discussing. The above has always been true, no matter if you go back in time 5 years or 20 years... guys over 50 were only ever attractive to young Filipinas because of financial considerations.

What was different before the great decline of 2014 onward is the loss of the novelty factor. Novelty makes average looking people (both men and women) appear beautiful/handsome.

If you grew up in a white country with few foreigners, think of the first time you saw an Asian girl... she probably looked stunningly exotic, even if she was just an Asian 5 or 6. But once you've lived in Asia for a while, you can more realistically assess objective attractiveness of Asian girls and you wouldn't look at her twice.

The same thing is happening in reverse as well. 5+ years ago there were so few young white guys coming to the Philippines that we were the closest thing to Brad Pitt these girls had ever seen outside a cinema in their lives. Now they see dozens of young white guys per day downtown, and hundreds per day online... novelty is gone, and they've become calibrated to actual white male looks.

There is still an advantage compared to being in the West, but it's only 20% of what it once was if that, and shrinking further.

If you are one of the blessed men who still get the rock star effect in 2018 and non stop girls who are actually hot to put out fast, easy and without any shit tests, count yourself lucky... although you probably good looking enough to get similar attention elsewhere and have a nicer life style (Philippines has little to offer other than nature and girls).

Relying on body language and gut feeling about someone is a far better way, that has been used since the dawn of times. No need to spend days studying tagalog at the Filipino library.

It's a well-known fact that Filipinos are nicer towards old, crumbly, inoffensive foreigner sex-tourists looking after their poor girlfriend. They know that those guys have a much higher probability to help Filipino families and their nice cousins.

What countries do you suggest? I'm trying the Philippines first, but I've also got Vietnam, Taiwan, and Argentina as possibilities if I decide to bounce.

I'm not into sleeping around, I prefer quality and an LTR. Only considering countries with favorable visa policies (infinite visa runs allowed, and no more than one visa run per 3 months). Those are the countries that pass that test and also interest me (nixed Georgia, despite the friendly visa policies).

There's quite a few of you leaning towards "it's not worth it anymore." So I'm wondering, where is it still worth it, then?
