From army to FFL with some extreme diving make sense. Reality is sometimes stranger than fiction.

I have no dog in the race. I could see some embellishment or obfuscation being possible, but I can also see how the larger story can fit together. That being said, I'm signing no contracts with the guy, so it's immaterial to me. If he wants to write original data sheets on things he has firsthand knowledge of, the forum is better for it, as long as his credibility checks out. If he were advising on how to land an Estonian citizenship or get into MIT, especially offering his services, another story (if you want to advise me on either, hit me up).

This doesn't mean that I'm not skeptical of extraordinary claims. But nola isn't obligated to whip out scans of his citizenship papers and diplomas just because the story doesn't add up across every single post.
