I might give this a go MrTickle, my skin just never seems to lose its redness and any external treatment is just obviously going to be a band aid for a deeper underlying issues.

How extensive is it? Sounds like its possibly seborrheic dermatitis. Google image that and see if it looks similar.

I have seborrheic dermatitis by the way. Reducing sugar has dramatically improved this too to the point that it is not noticeable.

Anyone ever use the oil cleansing method?

If so which oils? How often? And what were your results?

I may get some skin grafting done to removing my acne scars once and for all in August. Will report back with results but would really appreaciate any advice on reputable plastic surgeons or dermatologic surgeons in the Greater Toronto Area.

I am a big fan of putting stuff on my body, that I would be alright putting in my mouth.

Coconut oil and Olive oil are my go to all in one skin creams.

I shave my head bald, then apply coconut oil which is a great after shave treatment.

I recently started shaving my head bald. Before, I would just cut it super low with the clippers, but now I follow that up with the Wahl Shaver. I gave up on trying to treat my razor bump/hyper pigmentation and just let my beard grow out. I actually like how I look with a beard and shaved head.

Black soap/exfoliation and Coconut oil is my daily regiment.

Here is the TIP.

get HYALURONIC ACID from amazon for 10 bucks. Apply it in the morning and at night after washing your face.
(moisturizer won't give you Water in your skin. This thing helps your skin hold more water)
If you don't notice the result after few days, I will give you money back. thank me later.

Also coconut oil is good. It will make your skin feel really oily though. So apply it at night, leave it couple hours and wash it before going to bed if you don't want to ruin pillow cover OR mix just little with hyaluronic acid in the morning.

Wasnt able to try out the oil cleansing method per se as a result of not have readily available hot water.

What i did do was just put some castor oil on my face every night and ive got to say it really helps in reducing oil production.

Just put it on at night and wash your fash the next morning with a light cleanser. You wont even need lotion, after a couple days your skins oil production seems to balance itself out.

A lot of American and even European brands of men's cosmetics are garbage after comparing them to Asian ones. I've tried a lot of men's facial cleansers from different brands, and they were OK but nothing special. Strangely the best one I ever used was one and old Japanese GF left behind when she went back there. I was going to throw it out but decided to try it and it was the best one I ever used. I now swear by it and buy it at asian supermarkets. The asians take beauty much more seriously than the USA and even Europe, so they know what they are doing. This one is just an average Japanese brand product that sells for about $10 but it blew away the $30 European one I was using. I was my face with it twice in the shower every night. First time to get rid of dirt and 2nd time to make it absolutely squeaky clean. My face has never been better. You just need a little bit, it foams very well. Best part is that it is not feminine packaging. Try it, and you will hopefully swear by it like I do

Anyone doing a regular daily routine or have experience with korean products?

I'm thinking about finding some products to do a Korean based routine. Similar to what markygras wrote in this thread
thread-57389...light=skin

Right now I'm doing
Shower with Tea Tree Oil on my face after gym days
Pat face down with towel
If I shave I put on Aztec healing clay for 15 mins
Rinse it off and then use Vit C serum then Oz Hyaluronic acid
Finish off with Nivea sensitive skin after shave

On days I don't shave I skip the Aztec healing clay and after shave

Thinking about instead doing something like this from this website
https://intothegloss.com/2014/04/korean-...-skincare/

1. Oil cleanse instead of tea tree oil which I think is too harsh
2. Exfoliator
3. Toning
4. Essence/Ampoules
5. Moisturizer
6. Either sunscreen or night cream depending on time of the day

Anybody get dry irritated (red & flaky) skin under their beard?

When I'm under stress I get it around my nose and eye brows but hydrocortizone cream usually clears it up in 24-48 hours.

Wondering what I can use to keep the skin under my beard hydrated/healthy?

Anyone use bottled water to wash their face? The water in my city is considered "very hard" and I wonder if that has any effect on skin.

My face is very sensitive and I go through periods of dryness and redness frequently, so I'm going to give washing my face with bottle water a try for a week and report back on how it goes.

This is a surprisingly great lotion for the skin as it absorbs quite well, much better than Coconut oil.

I had to stop using it though for this reason....

Olive Oil has a fragrant smell... but... it is very sweet smelling to certain creatures.

I remember one-day during the summer I was being swarmed by bees and wasps, I didn't connect the dots till after a few minutes that they were swarming me because of the scent of the olive oil I used as a lotion that day.

I like Almond Oil as it absorbs well like Olive Oil but has a more neutral sent.

It works.

Finding the right oil combo will depend on your skin though.

I've been off and on this method and have tried many oils -- Avacado, Olive Oil, Coconut Oil, Safflower Oil (the worst), Jojoba Oil, Almond Oil, Shea Butter Oil, etc.

Coconut oil (Make sure it is raw and virgin) is what I use currently as the base, I use it with Glycerin, I don't use a base oil like Castor (I used to, but I don't find it any different to add it)

Coconut oil does not absorb all that well, but it does a good job of actually deep cleaning and it is anti-bacterial so it actually does a good job of keeping your pores clean and not clogged to develop acne.

The only thing that gets annoying is the cloth gets dirty quick. I would get 5-7 face clothes you can rotate with to make sure you use a fresh one each day and toss the dirty ones in your laundry hamper. It sounds wasteful but I don't get the logic of using a dirty rag for the oil cleansing method, it should be fresh and clean to the best job.

Also, at the very end use cold as fuck water to close back up the pores. Use Witch Hazel or Rosewater to splash to seal up your skin, you should be good to go for the day after that. Give the face a good pat down. Bitches will start complementing your skin -- just tell them you use virgin tears to wash your face.

I used bottled water for a week, and it has made no noticeable difference. I'm back to using faucet water.

Trying that experiment though has made me think of others I can try. For my face, the next thing I'll try is using nothing. No cleanser, no hydralauric acid, and no moisturizer. Water only.

I need to find a window when I can look like crap though, because I know my skin will likely deteriorate initially.

I would wonder if distilled water would work better than regular water?

Dead water would maybe bond to impurities better? I have no science to back this up, I am just thinking out loud here.

That's what I thought as well, so I used distilled water.

It was a pain in the ass to get the water from the bottle to my face, so if anyone wants to try, I recommend getting a spray bottle.

You will need Ginkgo and horsechestnut for this. Use both herbs together. They help improve peripheral circulation and clear you up.

Can someone recommend a good natural moisturizer that offers UV protection too?

I wonder why no one mentioned witch hazel. It's a toner and astringent and reduces acne too.

Coconut Oil (organic, unrefined, virgin and cold pressed)

Believe it has a low but effective UV protection something like 4 SPF, it really depends on your skin tone. I don't use it for sun protection because I have fair skin but use it as my main moisturizer.

I've been using this brand for many years:

On the U.S. brands front, I've been using Brickell daily moisturizer and getting a lot of comments.

They do make an SPF 15 version, but it removes the hyaluronic acid and niacinimide, which is what I bought it for in the first place. For sunscreen, i just discovered Bare Republic. Mineral only, seems not to leave a white cast.

You can make your own. Just go find all natural baby rash cream with zinc oxide in it. The zinc oxide is the primary
active ingredient in sunscreen so you can just take a pinky sized dab of the baby rash cream and cut it with your usual moisturizer or oil. I take a dab and cut it with 2 drops jojoba oil and put that on my face.

Hey guys,

I use Nivea for men moisturiser on my face thrice a day 15 minutes after applying hyraluronic acid with vitamin C. Twice a
week I use bulldog facial scrub and 1-2 a week I use an aztec clay with apple cider vinegar facial mask for 15 minutes.

I also have a full facial microabrasion session (blackhead removal) (lasts 1 hour) once a month at a skin care clinic

When going out where there is sun I use Aveeno factor 70 sunscreen

Is this enough do you think to maximise face quality and prevent aging/wrinkles (aside from diet, lifestyle habits etc)?
