Glasses and frames are items with some of the highest markups you can get. The brand name ones are the biggest offenders. I refuse to buy into this nonsense and found this supplier and it's various brands, and settled on these ones in gun metal grey with black lenses, and got a couple of pairs on ebay for $17 for both. You can buy them in quantity and re-sell them, which most people do. You can see how cheap they even are if you buy just a dozen of them. I like them because they are sporty but also dressy. The quality is great for the very cheap price. They look very sharp. You would never guess the price is so low.

I also like these ones, but haven't ordered them. I was thinking of getting a dozen, keeping the ones I like, and re-selling the rest as a way to test the market for cheap sunglasses on craigslist.

what's are cool sunglasses for someone with a big head? I always feel like sunglasses look weird on me, and my bushy eyebrows be showing above the shades because I have a big head and the glasses don't cover the same part of my face as other people. what kind of shades would y'all suggest to someone with a head like Shaq?

You want real high end stuff? Try Gold and Wood. Made from gold, wood, and horn. I think they're in the $1000 range.

I'd disagree. Some brands make high quality stuff. I have those Dita Stateman (optical glasses), and IMO it's worth the price (some 450 € plus lenses), with 41 custom hancrafted parts - made in Japan.

Yeah, it's definitely a good brand.

Sunglasses are suppose to protect your eyes from UV rays.

I wouldn't buy knockoffs because that defeats the purpose of the product

Seriously though, great sunglasses. I got 2 pair when I was kickin it in Canada for a weekend. These in this tortoise shell and the other pair in black. Super comfortable and great UV protection.

That's the thing. The link at the top of the page for Olympic eyewear sunglasses sells them for $34 for a dozen. On that page they claim UV protection.

The question is, are there varying levels of UV protection? Are Ray Bans a higher quality lens?

Stop wearing sunglasses because you think they look cool or are expensive enough. Wear sunglasses that actually fit your face. So don't order them online, go to a shop and try on as many sunglasses until you get one that fits you.

I have this problem.

A giant fucking head.

Ray Ban have just stopped making the large size aviators too i think...a pair usually lasts me about a month before I break them [Image: angry.gif]

^Another giant head here.

I had another side of that problem since I wanted sunglasses with strength so I could use them without wearing contact lenses. In the past most sunglasses with strength were small and looked like shit because they didn't produce any large sunglass lenses until recently.

Now they have them, which suits blind giant heads like me.

However, the answer is simplier than it sounds.
Go to a shop and try out the biggest ones until you find something you like.
Don't buy any bad looking ones just for having a pair.

I prefer Ray Ban. Anyway, I think we shouldn't expect huge quality differences between brands.
