+1 on Persol.

I have been rocking these for a while.

Been thinking of going for these ones though.

I am hard on my glasses though so I usually have a couple pairs from H&M that I dont have to care about.

Stay away from the Wayfarers though or you'll be pegged immediately for a hipster.

ray ban aviators look hard. the kanye plastic fisher price glasses are only gonna last for a little while.

The Wayfarer IS classic shit. That design goes back to the 1950s.

No doubt - I was advising OP to stay away from the goofy thick rimmed plastic styles that are trendy now. Wayfarers are smooth too - I think ray ban makes those as well.

Dude they're really nice in person. Find a Sunglasses Hut in the mall and check them out. They weigh nothing. Super comfortable. I didn't wanna spend $160 on shades that day but she really sold me.

Seriously, $15 pair of gunmetal black aviators with purple lenses from Target. Expensive glasses are really nice, and look good but the right man can make even cheap ones look swag as fuck. Save your money.

Persols are pimp, my cousins an optometrist so I get glasses at cost I'm loaded up on raybans and persols, for style price and performance(as long as you're getting polarized) you can't beat these 2 companies.

Maui Jims may be the best lenses on the market for sunglasses according to my cousin but they're sports frames or fishing frames, or old man frames, I wouldn't want to rock their styling for daily wear.

I've worn Persols exclusively for over a decade. I like simple styles that aren't trendy and Persols have been around forever. They also last for a long time and since they're classics you can wear them as the expensive fads come and go, and they can be worn with all the styles of clothing I like to wear without looking out of place. They cost a bit but they're worth it, and it only takes breaking one pair to get really careful about keeping them intact. Well it took me two but I am a slow learner.

Persol PO 2288's are my current go to pair.

Oh Hell Yes. Persol all the way. There's some good taste players here. They're all I've worn for years. While not "field tested," (in the standards of this forum) my friend managed a sunglasses store in a swanky mall, so I was able to try on everything for a few days each. Like many people here, found I got the best result (on my face shape) from the traditional tortoise-shell Persols.

This is my current pair:
[Image: $%28KGrHqJ,!jQE4o-c64HqBOSEr-yBEw~~0_3.JPG]

The thing about Persols is that, as stated earlier in the thread, they're timeless yet smooth, understated yet easily recognizable. Functional art. They're "flossy" without the "try hard" element you'll find with other sunglasses. Always in style. And IMO, women associate a certain type of man with them (the kind they like).

Another thing I've found with Persols is that all over the world you'll find other players with them. It's easy to start conversations with strangers. I always do. Almost without exception everyone I've approached to talk "persol" (in US, africa, SA, Europe) has been pretty cool. They dig them as much as we do.

Rayban new wayfarers. Rayban medium aviators.

I am becoming nearsighted, so I popped the lenses of the wayfarers out and had transitions put in.

Tom Cruise has been wearing a lot of Persol in his latest movies. I noticed them in Knight and Day and the latest MI.

This site never ceases to amaze me, the Persols are the king of sunglasses. I have a sunglass hut connection and hope to pick up a pair in a few weeks. I hardly see anyone wearing them, for most guys Raybans is a big deal.

James Bond rocks them, so that must say alot.

How do you guys feel about the Tom Ford stuff?

The shades Bond rocked in "Quantum of Solace" were Tom Fords, and yes, they were hot.

Tom fords are just just cheap frames with a designer label. Wouldnt waste my money on them.

46 said it all about Persols. The arrow is timeless and classic, with quality to match at a price that is extremely reasonable considering people are paying the same for gucci, d&g,prada shit which would be walmart brand 10 dollar sunglasses off the rack if the name came off the side, there is no quality to the frames nothing else of value that adds price beyond that and if youre buying garbage on a name then youre crazy.

I'm not going to lie. Lot of dislike being posted against other designer sunglasses brands. To each their own but I think persol makes rather boring and bland glasses from a style standpoint. The frames may be of some superior quality, I don't know though. I personally like the following sunglasses.

These Zegnas which I own
http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_pfzuP4OKhXQ/Sf...turar3.JPG

These Emporio Armani shades
http://www.selectspecs.com/blog/wp-conte...9592s1.jpg

These Louis Vuitton shades
https://www.luxuryexchange.com/shop/imag...060384.JPG

But again to each their own. I wouldn't criticize other designer brands and say how they are walmart quality sunglasses and persol or ___ brand is better than all. Because it all comes down to personal preference and the reality is most of us don't really care how good of quality the frames are but how they make us look.

Exactly, everyone's face is different...and everyone's approach varies. But, damn dude, if you can pull off those LV shades you're my new hero.

all depends on your face shape. I have aviators, but sometimes they look a bit off on me.

I usually rock a pair of Carrera sunglasses. Also have a pair of Barton Pererrias which are awesome and a pair of Von Zipper "Stache". I've had several different colors of the Stache over the years but they look good on me.

I wear a lot of gold jewellry...probably to the point where most of you would say why the hell do you have so much gold. I imagine those LV sunglasses would be a nice complement but I have no idea how they would fit my face. I live in Canada 7 months a year and Cuba 5 months a year and I have never seen them in either place.

This is where I'm at, too - I'm really bad about leaving my sunglasses under the hoods of cars, or in kitchens where someone nicks 'em, or them flying off my face and getting damaged. I keep my sunglasses easily replaceable for me. Cheap sunglasses FTW, they're always on.

You gotta be careful these days with the price of gold so high. One necklace can be worth like $2000. You're probably wearing over $10k in gold. You're gonna get some punk kid pulling a gun on you somewhere.

Where I live in Canada theres been I think 1 murder in the last 2 years. Its extremely safe. In Cuba there isn't civilian access to guns so I don't worry about it. Plus there's bigger fish than me in terms of gold in Cuba. Lots of the celebrities are decked out in massive 9k and 10k gold bling...although I'm sure a lot of it is plated. The average street kid who would be trying to rob me isn't going to know the difference between my 12mm 24" 96g 18k gold chain and the celebrities 12mm 9k gold chain. But with that said...I usually stick to more conservative pieces when I'm abroad and just put on my 4mm 14k figaro chain with a pendant and then a 4mm 14k bracelet. When I have that on they've got bigger fish to rob. Heres a couple cubaton stars Jose El Pillo and Osmani Garcia.

Here's another musician Yulien Oviedo

Here's Alexander from Gente de Zona

When I'm wearing a 4mm chain it is of little attraction when you have guys with serious bling on. I have no idea if the musicians are wearing real gold though or the number of karats. For all I know it could be gold filled or plated.
