Hello guys,
I have noted in MrRoundthree’s thread on living in France that some of you are interested in the city of Toulouse. I have lived there for one year so I decided to create a datasheet.
I want to mention that I was quite clueless with girls while I lived there. In fact, it is while living there that I discovered Roosh and the red pill. Even though I had very little success in this city, I still think that my observations are valuable to you players.
The girls
It is often said that the Toulousaines are the best girls in France. You will find quite a lot of slim, fit girls here. Most of them are white with mixed white/Arab girls coming in second. It is a student town so there is a large selection of young girls from all over France, but also a substantial amount of Spanish and Brazilian pussy.
(Night)Game looks and attitude
This is rugby country and there is no space for skinny guys. The girls have a clear preference for muscular, tanned guys. Don’t be clean-shaven, pale and skinny or you will not get a second (or even a first) look. And don’t dress preppy or hipster-like. Do work out, grow a couple of days of stubble and put on a tight t-shirt or shirt that shows you masculine build. Complement with jeans, a leather jacket and maybe a stylish scarf. The average guy here measures around 5’10”. If you are 6’ or taller, you will stand out in a good way.
I think that the French guys are better players than most other Europeans. They are arrogant and they are not afraid to approach. If you see a target and you hesitate, probably some other guy will be grinding against her in a couple of minutes. Approach aggressively on the dance floor: physical contact first, small talk afterwards. Go for the same night bang because girls will flake. Her girlfriends will try to cockblock you. Girls here were not really impressed with my status as a foreigner, although I’m European as well and it could be different if you are not.
Do not expect the girls to speak English. Although English is learnt in school, most of the French are really bad at it. Even when the girl knows some English, she will probably be too embarrassed to use it. Spanish might get you somewhere, quite a lot of people speak basic Spanish. But obviously French is best, the girls will love it when you speak French with a foreign accent.
Nightgame venues
All of the bars and clubs on this list are typical places frequented by college students. Most girls in here will be 18-23 years old, people will be drinking heavily, drinks will be cheap and of poor quality and you will probably get some alcohol spilled on your clothes. If you are looking for a classier place with a dress code or quality spirits or cocktails, I cannot help you. Also, if I remember correctly, all bars close at 1 am on weekdays and at 2 am on Friday and Saturday.
Café Populaire
The only hipster place on the list. Cheap drinks, loud rock music, always very crowded. On Monday nights all of the drinks are half price. It is extremely easy to make contact with people in this place, everybody seems to be open to meet new people. If you have good social skills, you will do very well here. Lots of people are smoking outside and it’s very easy to make contact with them. Make sure you don’t need to shit here, the toilet is terrible and there is always a queue.
Chez Tonton
Classic rugby bar. Not a lot of hipsters here but rather guys showing their muscles. Extremely crowded. Be well built and be aggressive. Starts playing French chansons after midnight, which is the signal for all the French to start dancing on the benches and tables. Very drunk people (and drunk girls).
La couleur de la culotte
Next to “Chez Tonton” and a bit classier. The bar for the snobbish college girls. Look good and have decent verbal game. The name translates to “the color of the panties” – I’m sure you players can use this to inject some sexual talk into the conversation or as a very cocky opener.
Le Saint des seins
Yes, this bar is called “the saint of tits”. The bar has a bit of a split personality, it tries to be a mix between a rock bar (live music from time to time) and a hip design bar and it fails at both. Also on Place St Pierre, just like Tonton and la culotte. Girls here are less drunk than at Tonton and less good looking than la culotte. This bar has bigger and cleaner toilets than the other places so it’s a good place to take a dump. When all the bars close at 1 or 2 am, the square can be a gold mine full of drunk and horny girls.
De Danu
Typical Irish sports bar. Good for watching sports with your friends, not for pulling. The exception to the rule is of course St Patricks day, then you want to be here.
El borriquito loco
A popular place for stag and hen parties. As a result, lots of drunk girls but also lots of cockblocking. This place serves food and the tables severely limit the movement space you have. Drinks and food are of very poor quality.
Trader’s Pub
The drink prices fluctuate according to the demand. However, they always remain sky high for poor quality drinks.
Studio One
Big night club which is a 15-20 minute walk from the center. Nothing special on regular nights, but a fantastic place on student nights (maybe once a month, typically on Wednesdays). Expect a lot of young, horny, scantily clad girls.
Shangai
A gay club that used to be THE party place in the city center. The entrance was free and the club was open till 8 or 10 am so everybody came here when the bars closed. It was a fantastic place to pull until they introduced a cover charge. Now the place is always half empty and 90% filled with gays. Only reason to go here is if you’re on a date and you want to grind you crotch against your girl on Nicki Minaj and David Guetta music. No risk that another guy tries to steal your girl here.
What to drink
The French beer is shitty, wine and decent spirits are not served in the mentioned places. Stick to pastis; it’s refreshing, it’s a manly drink here and you can dilute it as much as you want.
Conclusion
I recommend Café Populaire, Chez Tonton, La couleur de la culotte and Studio One on student nights. And drink pastis.
Daygame Venues
The borders of the Garonne
When the weather is nice, the border of the Garonne between Place St-Pierre and la Daurade is the pre-drink place of choice. Starting in the afternoon (from approximately) 16h, groups of young people will arrive to drink, smoke and play the guitar. Expect a lot of hipsters that want to show of their non-existent guitar skills. If you cannot work a group, you will face an uphill battle here since nearly all girls will arrive as part of a (mixed) group. Don’t forget to bring alcohol. Bonus points if you bring weed (called shit here); it’s a lot harder to find here than in the Netherlands or Belgium but it definitely wets the hipster girls’ pussies.
Around Rue Alsace Lorraine
This is the main shopping street. All year round you will find lots of girls, either solo or accompanied by a girlfriend or two, on this street and the smaller surrounding streets.
Food
I will just list a couple of places that I enjoyed and that offer a very good price/quality ratio.
Le ver luissant
Classical French cuisine of decent quality for a very affordable price. Expect to pay 25-35 euros for a starter, main dish and dessert. Has a good selection of Belgian and other international beers, although they are expensive at around 6 to 8 euros each.
Sushi house
Best sushi in the city, only around 5 kinds of fish available but everything is extremely fresh and well prepared. 20 euros for around 10 pieces of sushi and some maki, 25 for a sashimi plate. Get the sashimi plate for two at 45 euros if you don’t go alone. Not comparable to top level sushi restaurants but great quality and quantity for the price paid.
La braisière
THE place in town to eat meat. All the meat is roasted on the big wood-fire in the middle of the restaurant. I recommend the duck with Roquefort sauce. Their chocolate mousse is excellent as well.
Housing
Since Toulouse is an extremely popular student town, it is very hard to find an unoccupied small flat or studio. If you plan to stay for a long time, the best time to start looking for an apartment is end of April/beginning of May. By then the landlords already know which students will move out. In the beginning of June the French students that finish high school know where they’ll study next year and all the available flats and studios are of the market in record time. Probably the landlord will want you to sign a one year contract and you will have to find another occupant if you want to leave earlier; this should not be a big problem if you’ve picked your flat properly (i.e. it is in a central location and in a decent state). Whatever you do, choose a property in the inner city. Capitole, Saint-Georges, Saint-Aubin, Carmes, Saint-Etienne and Arnaud Bernard are the only neighborhoods you should be looking at.
I tried to find some roommates here, but I only got answers from older men and older women.
When to visit
Toulouse is a university town and you absolutely want to go during the academic year. This academic year typically starts end of September/beginning of October and ends in the beginning of June. All students will go home during summer, for Christmas and Easter Holidays (two weeks each) and for the holiday weeks around All Saints and in the beginning of February (one week each).
The very best period to go is from half of September to half of October. Students will arrive after three months of living with their parents, the weather is still great and exams are a distant thought. The girls will only care about partying, getting drunk and getting fucked. The second best period is March and April. The weather gets better, the skirts and dresses get shorter and skimpier and the libidos get higher. November to February is too cold and dark. May has too many exams.
I have noted in MrRoundthree’s thread on living in France that some of you are interested in the city of Toulouse. I have lived there for one year so I decided to create a datasheet.
