News media like Megyn Kelly are going to make a fuckload of money as global instability is rapidly increasing.
Everytime a new terrorist attack it's their faces right there on primetime. You get fresh material every few days.
Then shit will go down at the Olympics, euro soccer terror, etc..

Turkish Air frequently has the lowest prices to Europe when I look at booking a flight and includes a connection in Istanbul.
Obviously, I'm not at all tempted by the low price. No matter the price, it is too expensive.
There are only two countries in the entire world that I know for sure that I will never ever visit in my entire life one is India the other is Turkey.
India is worth visiting, there are some great parts like the Himalayas, it's one of the world's great civilizations. It's the thirld world too, but still well worth a visit.
Turkey is a great country, awesome food, great heritage, nice beaches, and friendly locals, if you get your foot in the door. Some good nightlife and hostel scene too.
I guess you're entitled to your reservations about that country given your heritage Yossarian, and that's perfectly understandable. Turkey hasn't done anywhere near what it should in terms of coming to grips with that chapter.

This is what the CIA calls blowback, Turkey was quick to support ISIS against the Kurds and the PKK, now this has backfired and the monster Turkey helped to create is destroying their own city.
Nice pic.

There's that, and the fact that it's filled with crazy Muslims who support ISIS.
That's also a reason to give it a pass.

How sad. They're many amazingly hot women who work in security and immigration there, not to mention Turkish Airlines stewardesses.
No, I'm not kidding.

Can anyone (looking at you Samseau and Quintus) point me to a thread in the Deep Forum about the history of Islamic violence in the ME? Or a solid book on the subject?
I want to learn more about the subject. My dad grew up in Izmir (though we're not Turkish. My grandpa was a tobacco dealer after WWII) and he describes it as an incredibly idyllic time. He's shown me pictures of a Mediterranean paradise, says that you would never identify Turkey as remotely Arabic culturally and certainly no Islamic Extremism. I'm curious to see how the rise of Islam Extremism happened in the last 60 years to contrast with the Turkey he knew vs Turkey today.

Turkey is the perfect place for ISIL to attack, unfortunately. It's a country that's divided between an increasingly liberal younger generation, in addition to older folks who are edited. Then there's Erdoğan supporters and less educated who tend to me more traditional Muslims. It's a recipe for disaster.

Agreeing with Sam on this, noone gives a fuck about Turkey, the media doesn't cover it much, because it isn't an important country.
Hardly anyone is talking about Turkey since it doesn't fit the narrative.
Shit, when the Stanford finger rape case letter was going on, 13 girls were burned alive because they refused to have sex with ISIS members, noone even talked about that.
Ironically Turkey was just trying to make nice with Russia.
Erdogan made his bed, now he get to sleep in it.

Erdogan is calling for a united stand against terrorism.
The definition of irony.
Britain left the EU.. so he suddenly wanted to 'normalise' relations with Russia and Israel and then equally suddenly the rabid dog he was aiding turned around and bit him.

I'll go out on a limb here.
ISIS is BFFs with Israel, the Saudis, and by default the Clinton crime family.
Crisis of Character (which I reviewed in the Hillary thread) the book about the Clinton crime family was released today. This was supposed to be the most anticipated political book of 2016. Now the media has something better to talk about.
I'm just saying, it's something to think about.

I have a friend in Turkey who messaged me earlier, saying that many people there believe that Erdogan & Co. (the Sunni Muslim Brotherhood crowd) may even have looked the other way, or allowed this to happen.
The reason is that Erdogan's policies are becoming deeply unpopular. The army dislikes him. The only way he can justify his existence, and keep control of power, is to create crises and emergencies.
He'll probably use this tragic attack to whip up public support for more of his policies.
The man is just temperamentally unfit to be president of a major nation. He's irascible, dishonest, moody, thin-skinned, and an inept judge of the character of others.
It would not surprise me to see him arrested and taken into custody at some point.

He and his family were exposed as running a smuggling operation through the Syrian border, the journalists in question were arrested and jailed and all evidence destroyed by state decree.
He certainly deserves custody.

A friend and fellow forum member was in Turkey and the same terminal that go bombed just 24 hours before it happened.... Thats the closest to hitting home any of these "Religion of Peace" attacks have came to hitting home. It's scary......
Something has to be done about this peaceful religion.... killing innocent men, women, and children who are just trying to go about their daily lives is fucking disgusting.

I am supposed to be in Turkey 24 hours from now, flying through this terminal. I'm going plot together some alternatives, take a long walk and make a decision.

I managed to catch the footage earlier at another site before the blurred version became the only one that was findable, but the blurring doesn't really conceal anything relevant that I can determine.

Attack on Istanbul Airport - Multiple Explosions and Gunfire Reported

Turns out its the PKK terrorists that blew themselves. The target is civilians in the international flights section. Which means these terrorists dont just target the Kurds and/or Turks anymore but the foreigners in the country as well. In this respect isis and pkk share the same goal, that is to terrorise the region and contribute to the destabilisation of the region in the long run. The reason why Erdogan is hated by the terrorists is that he started a huge war against terror and kicking their ass really hard. But because these groups are puppets whose strings are in the hands of west (I'll explain how later), the western media is not to mention the military operations against isis in Turkey, on the contrary they portray Erdogan as a supporter. Are you kidding me ? Isis killed most people in Turkey after Syria and Iraq.
The above posts are evident to how brainwashed people can be to blame on the entire religion of Islam. This has little to do with the intelligence of the person but its a solid proof of how manipulative the media can be. If you tell a horse he is a fish a million times, he will eventually start thinking he is a fish.
The case with ISIS is and has always been (since its founded by western intelligence agencies (you know which one in particular)), that they are only portrayed islamic by the western media. However, in reality they do not involve with even the basic islamic practices such as 5 times a day prayer, 30 days fasting (which is this month), obligatory alms, etc. According to witnesses its members cannot even read Quran, speak perfect english but no arabic. Their target has always been muslims, they've killed thousands in the middle east but have not yet threw a single stone to Israel, their supposed to be arc enemy. Isis is a terrorist group that has nothing to do with the islamic belief and muslims are direct victims of isis. Yet, what media does is nonsense like blaming all Japanese for nuclear bombs.
I consider the Orlando massacre an inside job just like paris attacks, 9/11 and kennedy assassination. Theres been many false flag operations in USA to keep the country in almost constant war all around the world.
All this leads us to the fact that isis is a puppet created by western war lords simply because they need an enemy they control for an everlasting war that will allow them to drain blood out of economies permanently. The war lords control other terrorist groups where they see necessary. For instance the main income of pkk was the drug business, they had fields of opium and cannabis trees that supplied some of the drug demand in Europe and US (yearly 200.000 people die for illicit narcotic use, so not just the guns of the terrorists kill. Apart from that the global illegal narcotics business is estimated to be 360 billion dollars per year.) 1 or 2 days before the attack the cannabis fields of pkk were set on fire by Turkish army. Interesting timing.
Another interesting point is how come US embassy knows about the terrorist attacks in an overseas country before hand and warns its citizens ? They usually have no intelligence before the attacks in US soil or dont bother with warning the citizens either.
One other reason why Erdogan is demonised by west is that not only he kicked IMF out but also made Turkey an example to other countries throughout Africa and Asia that it is possible to have a stable and growing economy without having to pay tribute to a group of western money cartels. (google - John Perkins: Confession of an Economic Hitman)
The tribute collected from such countries (hundreds of billions annually) is of vital importance to the west to sustain its hegemony. Look at what happened to Dilma Rousseff who tried the same thing, she will probably spend the rest of her life between trials and jails. This is what happens when you mess with the big guys in wall street. So, we'll see them keep coming for Erdogan.
But sooner or later one day you'll wake up to see the stock markets collapse, some AAA+ banks going bankrupt over night and listen to economists explanation/justification on how on earth all the money had vaporised over night.
Essentially, because the system is built on greed its naturally unsustainable, they must drain blood out of the rest of the world otherwise it will collapse and in my opinion we are very close to see this happening.
Whats important at this point is to predict what the chain reaction will be like and then how the earth will look like in 10 - 20 - 30 years later.
p.s. I am curious how many of my foreign facebook friends will turn their profile photos into Turkish flag to express solidarity against terror..

^^ Why would PKK possibly bomb Turkey at the moment when they have the sympathy and international support of the entire world as victims of both Erdogan and ISIS? How would PKK possibly profit from that?
