I am pretty sure I can land a job with an american company over there with my network. My main issue is the weather... I am a white, pale guy, scandinavian ancestors and don't tend do do well with really hot areas unless there is A/C available at most places.

What are your thoughts? Should I pass it up? Sounds like it gets hot as balls over there year round...

^ It's not Kuwait or anything like that. But then again it's not Scandinavia either haha. Yeah it's hot but A/C is ubiquitous. Forget about the great outdoors or anything though. That means anything outside buildings

It's very hot, and there is A/C available, especially in the more westernized venues. Often wish the A/C was cooler though.

Ex-pats I've talked with say you adjust to the weather after about 6 months

Just got back from Manila recently, oh boy what a trip. Had to go there for work as we are setting up operations over there and had a ball.

I have never been hit on like I was there, it made Thailand seem tame by comparison. Even sitting down at dinner women would come up and want to join us randomly.

Strangely I loved the food and ate at the night markets almost every evening.

I spent time down the fort auditing potential partners during the day and spent nights around Markati. We drank a fair bit over there and generally ran amok. The bars are pretty shifty and you need to be careful if you get dragged into one in Burgos as they will bleed your wallet dry in record time.

The women there have very solid hustle that will lay waste if you are not careful.

Viber is a must and I am still msging half the women i was with now I am back home. I figure it best to keep them in rotation as I will be going back there mid year and it will be nice to be met at the airport. Transport as previously mentioned is a bit of a nightmare and a simple 10km trip can take many hours during peak times but we stayed in the bubble so we only took taxis for meetings.

The hotel we stayed in was awesome (y2) for the money and the room service was cheap and fast when we needed it. One woman i was kind of nice to ended up bringing her friends over for other nights out on the town.

They also love discos (night clubs) and food like women the world over.

If you want to do shopping in that area, drop past Green Hills, its like 2000 shops large and has everything you can think of both legit and knock offs. Its not all high end which is more around the fort then the other areas.

Likes: The women, the food, the prices of living
Dislikes: the traffic, the poverty and it gets hot, like real hot. Very corrupt country as well.

I could spend a few months of the year there very happily and will probably do so because of work and my fever.

One last thing I noticed is the locals are nice like real nice, everyone is nice even though there are so many guns around. Everywhere I went guards with guns, metal detectors and more guns. It was a bit strange and made no sense until i started reading the local news paper. Very full on crime rate yet I never saw anything untoward or felt anything untoward.

Highly recommended detestation to relax for a few weeks in. Like most Asian women they know how to treat a man. Would love to see other parts of the country if it just gets better from here.

Which one, there are two clubs down there...Pangea and Chaos! Pangea more older crowd, reminds me of how OPUS was at Resortsworld. Chaos very young crowd and similar to how Republiq used to be. Well worth staying down there as it is a bit of a track from Makati and the Fort.

Thanks for the heads up. I would've kicked those two to the curb as well. And 4000 pesos? That's almost a hundred bucks! It's HUGE bucks for most places in the Philippines, and probably more than what many make even in Manila when you look at percentages of salaries.

I think the girls in Davao who want to be prostitutes just go to Manila. Because, there are not many foreigners in Davao.
