Are you addicted to the forum?

THis is the closest the Matrix will allow me to socializing.

I can't socialize in the real world, because all girls are on iPhones all the time and do not understand when a live human being is physically present and talking to them. They think it's a software glitch, look at me strangely, as you would at an unfamiliar error message on your computer screen, and return to texting someone, somewhere.

I've accepted now that real life is that which is inside computers and monitors, and physical presence is outdated and for old people.

I'm addicted to the forum, like a crackhead addicted to crack. During the outage I started going through withdrawl. Instead of doing other things like educating myself or whatnot....I took a nap, then lurked other stuff while trying to check if RVF was back on.

Yup. I'm so addicted, any girl I see beyond the first couple bangs I tell them about this forum. I get girls texting me about what Roosh posted on Facebook.

They act outraged that I read this shit, but I see the twinkle in their eye.

I actually cracked open a book while the site was down. Started reading Tom Wolfe's "A Man in Full". Pretty good so far.

But glad to see the forum's back up. Time to celebrate.

Hahaha, you tell girls about this? That's pretty legit. I'll try it and see how it works.

"OMG, what does IRT mean?"

Good for you, it's always good to breathe some fresh air and discover new stuff.

For sure, I've picked up some good info here.. I think generally, there's just less b.s. here, and more value per read.
I can pretty much read the title of each thread and determine if its a waste of time or not to read, so props at least for the community somewhat accurately titling each thread.

I am addicted to the forum. I am addicted to the internet in general.

I have eliminated the internet at home to help guard myself from the negatives of this addiction.

For me personally I get super lazy and don't put in the effort to improve myself in other ways when I just sit around surfing the internet all day.

Try it, cutting the internet at home is the most productive decision I have ever made.

As I was checking the forum every few minutes during the outage, I laughed thinking about how a group of guys around the world were probably doing the same thing.

"Okay (and I'm laughing now, because this is so funny), so we're A) not supposed to give you flowers, B) pay you compliments, or C) look at you. Anything else? Because I'm struggling to figure out the reason why after hearing that, I'm feeling like I'd rather get fucked in the ass by a Cape Buffalo than ever have to sit through dinner with you. Maybe you can figure it out for me. When you do, let me know. I'll be at Natasha's house."

I love this forum. I think I made a similar post a few months after joining, but...

I can have intense debates with members such as Samseau (You're such a great member, but also such an opinionated guy I had to mention you!), frequently, and it does not enrage or irritate me, just confirm that such debate is very healthy for the male mind and increases our intellectual curiosity. Not everyone agrees, and there is hypocrisy (from myself included) regarding certain issues, yet we are all working toward a common goal: To be better men and to better navigate the world.

I don't post much in the 'Game' section, as I have hardly anything to add to the immense amount of advice contained within it. I've improved so much due to that section, and from the 'Travel' and 'Lifestyle' sections, that I have altered my entire career trajectory due to them.

I can't ever be lonely because I have this forum. I'm currently looking after my parent's house so it's pretty much just me for most of the day (I work from home) and I can confirm that without the forum, I would be lonely in the evenings, when it's been about 3 weeks alone in the house on weekdays. Weekend are cool, obviously. I've made amazing connections with other guys here, that have legitimately helped me in my working and private life, and they know who they are. I just hope that one day there is a forum-wide meet up where we can all get together.

I think a lot of our opponents think we are all cold, hard, nasty bastards who hate everyone and everything, yet the opposite is true. I have genuine affinity (not affection- that is something reserved for real life friendships) with several members, and there's nothing 'wimpy' or 'progressive' about my mindset. I just genuinely love this forum and everything about it.

I've had a few beers tonight, but my words are sincere. Cheers Roosh and Tuth, it's the best forum on the internet for men, and I'm so happy I found it whilst still in my twenties.

I too, have greatly decreased time on Facebook and opted that time to the forum instead.

I check several times a day. I always look for updates in the lifestyle section, check for new innovations in the game section, and read new posts in the players log. I also check everything else once a day.

Fantastic community.

Tell them too much, they wouldn't understand; tell them what they know, they would yawn.
They have to move up by responding to challenges, not too easy not too hard, until they paused at what they always think is the end of the road for all time instead of a momentary break in an endless upward spiral

I've been on here a real lot the past few weeks. Need to chill out.

The issue is what my new day job offers me a lot of downtime and I'm basically self managed so I have a ton of opportunity to fuck off. Idle hands are the devil's playground as they say.

I need to get myself on task and work on being more productive during the day instead of wasting time with mindless entertainment. Not that I consider the forum totally "mindless entertainment" but when you're on here a real lot then the time-sink aspect starts to outweigh the self-improvement aspect.

I tend to get hooked for a few weeks, then take a break for a few. Lately though I've been on a constant binge. Between the forum and Youtube, I probably spend entirely too much time on the internet.

I'm basically the same. I like to go on the forum for brief 5 minute binges every two hours or so because I feel like I'm gonna miss something good. I need to get back to once or twice daily browsing for 20 minutes or so.

I think they'd need to remove the internet from where I work on the weekdays so I don't ever access the forum.

I definitely access it too much, like Misc, I try to binge then get out, but then

I probably visit it at least every waking hour on average. For every time I'm involved in a multiple hour activity with no RVF checks, there's another hour where I've closed the browser and opened it again to RVF 3 times.

It definitely hurts my productivity, but like others have said, I feel like this is the only community where other people see things the way I do. I can talk some red pill ideas with people in real life, but I have to sensor a good 50% of my inner thought life from everybody I know at all times.

I'm likely to be traveling out of town on Feb. 6, and unable to attend the RVF meetup in my city. This is surprisingly distressing. I'm trying to think of ways to be in town, but the work I need to do out of town really can't be put off.

At the end of each day, I get all my news from rvf. I don't feel like wading through ad-filled news sites, waiting for shit to load, or watching crap on youtube. I can't retain info from videos, I need to read it, so I can get multiple articles from sources I don't go to all in easy quick loading forum, with added commentary to help put perspective where needed.

Sorry to bump, but I got a few.

-Whenever you see a news headline, you immediately wonder if it will be in the politics and war section.

-You constantly smirk at inside jokes that you pick up from the forum.

-You tell people you are “too high energy” and they have no idea what the fuck you are talking about

-You ask yourself if the advice you just gave is rep worthy

-You refresh RVF more in one day than any other website in a year

-You always have at least two RVF tabs open(or in my case, two full windows)

-You often ponder what would happen if you hadn’t found RVF

-The thought of being banned keeps you up at night

-You’re number one priority is to be location-independent

-You think “little dark?” when you see any ridiculous video or story

RVF is why I wish I never had a smartphone. I could be on the patio of a night club talking to a chick and odds are I'd be zoning out to browse the forum instead of listening to whatever dumb cat story she's telling.

Yes. This is why I don't carry my smartphone three days out of five now - because I'm going to keep hitting "refresh".

This, Drudge, the_donald, and Breitbart are my main news sources now. Kind of a far cry from when I'd get everything from the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times...

Hitting the 'View New Posts' link is the online equivalent of Dr. Gonzo opening his car trunk for me, then hopping in for a ride somewhere around Barstow...

"We had two bags of Asian datasheets, seventy five pellets of text advice, five sheets of high powered first-date lay recipes, a salt shaker half full of feminist tears, and a whole galaxy of multi-colored oil sanders, no-fappers, big lifters, game philosophers... also a quart of location independence, a quart of no-hymen-no-diamonds, a case of yellow fever, a pint of raw zinc, and two dozen red pills.

Not that we needed all that for the trip, but once you get locked into a serious RvF collection, the tendency is to push it as far as you can."

I read the forums for a couple hours at work every day, I really want to up my post count but don't want to repeat things that have already been said in better ways.

It kind of feels like the 90's hacker chat rooms, where you speak carefully to not let anyone figure out that you're a know nothing lamer.
