China outside of Beijing or Shanghai?

for anyone considering to live in Hong Kong i would not accept anything lower than 5000 USD per month. you are looking to pay 2000-3000 USD for a studio condo in downtown central HK,trust me central is where you wanna stay for night game, western food is very expensive, transporation is cheap tough, the city has a hectic vibe so if you don't like stress stay away from HK alltogether, good thing you can find chinese, asians, white girls who are all DTF . HK is awesome for night life imo, just make sure to stay in central so you can bring them home easy from the clubs nearby ,dressing up and looking nice is the way to go in HK,make sure you do not look like a tourist or backpacker.
biggest downside of HK is the cost of living, its hands down the most expensive city in Asia, even more expensive than Japan imo.

HK is a very developed place,a bit underrated for gaming imo,the night game is the best ive seen in all of asia. the bars have a particular formation/crowd
that makes it very easy to approach, its not too loud so its pretty easy imo.
and you can also get DTF chicks without all the noise polution and mess of the Phills, the best thing is you can find different nationalities and types of girls, lots of variety
if you can afford it i highly recommend HK, did not try online in HK so i cannot say, but for night game its really good

But I was in HK in 2011. I’d just come from the mainland where I was treated like a rockstar, and going to HK... there was zero exotic factor for a white guy, even then. Only foreigners I saw with girls were Indians picking up hookers. I imagine it’s a complete hellzone by now. Or are you saying the high cost of living shuts out a lot of competition?

Speaking of Shenzhen/HK, I've been there and wasn't that impressed with the town or local talent in SZ to say the least. I hope this doesn't count as shilling for these guys - I'm not a fan of them. But this popped up on my YT feed. These guys are saying expats are paying $2000 - $9000 USD a month to live in Shenzhen now. The main vlogger says he personally pays $1000 a month to live in a run-down apartment building that's not even downtown. Lmao, is that true? Who would pay those prices to live in Shenzhen?! Some of these expats are insane.

For what it's worth, they were the first people to start up a channel like that and while I don't agree with everything they put out decent content (even if it's mainly opinion-based). I can definitely see someone spending $1000 for an apartment, like someone previously said the market right now in SZ is a bunch of hyper-rich areas dotted in between your more normal 2nd tier less affluent areas. I think the figure of 2000-9000/mo depends highly on personal budget and income... I wouldn't be surprised if there are some finance or tech firm executives in the city these days who get put up in $6000 penthouses or something. Tack on the huge cost of living a Western lifestyle, much less any Western products, and you can get a huge bill at the end of the month.

Have you lived in other parts of China, or just visited? I'd be interested to hear your experience.

First tier China is crazy overpriced housing wise as everybody and his mom puts all their cash into real estate. The years where Shanghai and Beijing were all fun and party and a good bang for your buck with girls generally open to foreigners are long gone.

In Beijing and Shanghai you'll easily spend more than in New York, London or Zurich for a place that's somewhat up to western standards in a desirable area and for the quality of living it's simply not worth it unless you're some beta cuck mid level manager with no more game than mentioning his position in a multi national and hoping some gold digger bites.

Foreigners are also a much smaller niche area now as first tier China is reaching first world levels, foreign countries don't look that appealing anymore and English teacher salaries aren't much bigger than those of fresh comp sci grads in first tier cities.

If you go to China at all I'd stick to second tier for affordability and quality of living, but the people there are much more likely to see you as a zoo animal than people in first tier cities that see foreigners all the time. Game wise I can't comment but from what I've seen also a small niche of foreigner curious girls.

i first went to china 2010, went back last year, its unreal how much its changed, everything has trippled in price, foreigners have increased, attitudes have changed, i used to buy a beer for 10 yuan in shanghai in a bar,now its close to 60 RMB for a imported beer, the economy has exploded in just a few years

I didn't watch the video but anyone paying $1000 to live in a run-down building in the outskirts of SZ is straight up lying to you. It's $1000 for a 1BR condo downtown if you search for more than 10 minutes. I have visited multiple outer suburbs of SZ and the last apartment my friend (teacher) was staying in was 2BR brand new clean nice community, for $350 a month including utilities.

I'm not sure what expats gain from telling others that certain cities are "so expensive" [Image: undecided.gif] perhaps to drive out the competition.

For HK you can live cheaper in Mongkok and use taxi for night game. Some don’t like crossing the tunnel at night though. I paid about $1000 for a very small studio there. Competition is high and being white gives almost zero advantage. I wouldn’t go there for game.

Beijing took a big hit with the loss of bar street in Sanlitun, not that bar street itself was great but it provided a centre point for the nightlife and a lot of other cool bars kind of branched out from it. Nowadays Jing A is a restaurant, Revolution moved way out to a shopping centre, Migas became a cocktail bar instead of a club, Heaven Supermarket went upscale, James Joyce closed, The Den closed, the bicycle bar closed... There is very little left of the old nightlife and I’m not just talking about game, the days of going out having a fun night hitting up 5 or 6 totally unique spots are just gone. Look at the popular bars now; Sanlitun Slow Boat, Jing A, Scandal, First Floor just soulless food joints that serve beer and where nobody talks to anybody outside of their group.

^ I've heard terrible stories about what's been happening to Bejing over the past couple years. It really is heartbreaking even though I barely spent any time there I hate seeing good times disappear

Yeah, you don't wanna cross the tunnel.

Suzhou, directly out of Shanghai, is a nice city, more traditional. If you go to Shanghai definitely visit Suzhou.

For local girls, most of them do not live on the island, so they will not care that much (TST will be less than 15min away by cab at night, and literally ONE stop away from the island if you use MTR). Same when it comes to setting up dates, TST will not be seen as a weird or unusual place to meet up given the number or restaurants in that area. Of course HK is a materialistic place, and housing is probably the most important factor in this regard, so having an apartment within walking distance from Soho will always be better than a shitty 7sqm-walkup in Jordan or next to Chungking Mansion.

That's really interesting info! I've always thought that TST was further away. How is the walkability of the area? I'm not partial to having a car unless I absolutely need one (have usually lived in cities or close enough that public transport was tolerable).

TST is one of the most central and expensive areas of HK and a full blown upscale commercial district especially by the harborfront, its just on the other side of the harbor. Its really walkable; if anything that area is too walkable with the crushing throngs of pedestrians.

In my opinion, anyone in Hong Kong who has a car is either crazy or needs it for work reasons. Especially if you don't like driving, definitely don't buy a car there.

Not sure what you mean by "walkability" as TST is across the harbor from Central. TST is not far away distance-wise but because it's across from the water it can feel annoying for the girl; plus they are generally okay with sleeping over on HK Island so whether it's close proximity to their place doesnt really matter .
And no, you will not have a car in Hong Kong

Guess I was just ignorant to the actual distance. I'd always heard that it was right next to Shenzhen, and often it was never explained to me that TST wasn't it's own town but just another part of Hong Kong.

China has totally deteriorated for the average white guy in 2018. Nearly every single good looking white guy you see now in China is dating down. Nearly every single one. Usually you'll see some good looking, tall, chiseled jaw Abercrombie and Fitch-looking faggot with a dark skinned, chubby, ugly farmer peasant girl, if he's even with a Chinese girl. It's quite a pathetic sight to behold.

The young generation of Chinese hate white people or are indifferent at best. They've served their purpose in China, they've gotten rich off of us, and we are no longer welcome. They like rap music and hip hop now. I'd even go as far as saying young Chinese girls under 25 probably prefer brown guys, maybe even black, over the average white guy. But of course they prefer geeky, rich, skinnyfat micropenis Chinese 'men' above all else, first and foremost. White guys are absolute fucking pariahs in China now.

The trade war hasn't even knocked them down a peg or removed some of the laughable arrogance they've developed, it's seemed to have made them hate whites even more.

They've gone full Korean-esque retard in just 5-10 years in their levels of arrogance and laughable sense of a superiority complex as they've gotten richer. Actually, I don't even think Koreans became this arrogant so quickly. It took them 20 years at least. 5 years ago, you could say with confidence that you could fuck any Chinese girl you wanted. ANY. Just 5 years ago. Now, not so much.

My, how the tables have turned.

Pretty much this. I'm from a city that was quintessentially 2nd or 3rd tier until 1980. It still has 2nd / 3rd tier aspects (like the city shutting down at 8 PM and bad amenities). To get a 1 bedroom apartment downtown in 2018 is now $2,000 and in the outskirts (where you have to commute to work or even to eat out well) is $1,300. This doesn't include utilities and other fees.

On the other hand I can get a lot of good places to rent under $500 in South East Asia. Here in Taiwan it's $800 or so (unless I sign a 12 month contract where then I could theoretically get it down to $400 or so).

Real 1st tier in the west is places like San Francisco and Los Angeles where most are paying $2,000 - $4,000 for a place to live (even a lot of studios in downtown LA are starting at $2,000).
