Johnny drinks Coors, I can't respect the guy sorry. Joke aside yeah he's dropping some Red Pill bombs but the average spectator raised on SJW religion will think he's a rude pathetic bastard who needs to be endoctrinated. While I enjoyed the show as an 80s kid myself, I still can't make my mind about it. On the one hand you'd think there's hope for red pill philosophy, the writers probably grew up watching Stallone, VanDamme action flicks. On the other hand jewtube spin doctors are masters at manipulating people. They know the red pill is gaining momentum so they hook you first to better deceive you after. Dunno man.
Frankly I don't see how they can offer an interesting sequel to season 1, they will spin the evil Kreese/Vader trying to attract the young promising champ to the dark side. Danielito will re-open Miyagi's dojo, have Johnny's son and his daughter train to finally defeat boys much stronger than her. End of season 2 will see her fighting against her former boy friend. Sequels are always weaker. Always.

Finished the show the other day. I thought it was pretty good, Johnny definitely stole the show, loved how he kept saying red pill shit. It was nice to see positive male role models influencing pussy millennial/gen Z kids. Bonus points for making the single mothers completely worthless.
However, I am extremely weary for season 2. Now that the show has become somewhat of a sleeper hit, I think SJW stuff will slowly trickle in. I mean I never thought I'd live to see the day where Luke Skywalker become an emo nihilist sucking the testicles of an alien, so I'm prepared for anything.
Judging by the finale, I'm worried Danny's daughter will become a Mary Sue or some shit, or the other inevitable shit like the obligatory gay character or race baiting episode. I heard that Stranger Things show started good as an 80's nostalgia sort of thing, but already by season 2 the SJW shit creeped in. I hope it doesn't go to shit since its the only show I've watched in a decade, but I won't hold my breath.

Got past the first episode but dropped it mid-way through the second after I realized the race-cuckolding was going to be pushed hard-core in this series. Much like seemingly all advertising featuring romantically linked individuals invariably showcases white female non-white male pairings these days, BOTH the "hot girl" characters on the show are white and their romantic interests are not. This is clearly by design, and the show's token red pills are not worth the emasculating racial cuckoldry they are chased down with.
Guess the ethnicity of the show's creator, by the way.

I enjoyed the show, but the "diversity" was bordering on ridiculous at times. The (male) bully actors would've been playing the bullied kids not so long ago.

Just watched it over the last 2 days. Very well written and some good masculine characters--Johnny and Daniel are both solid role models for their proteges, albeit in different ways. I also liked that they openly mocked the kid giving a SJW speech at the tournament.

In real Karate the girls before puberty can match evenly with the boys. At least in the 1990's when I was a kid and did it. A real fight might be different but Karate requires skill as well as fitness. But these kids are 16 or so. Some girls will be able to fight the boys in competition at that age but I don't remember any ever placing in a tournament for sparring. I do remember some kicking ass when it came to kata performance though.
The other thing with the fat black girl--it was kind of a throwaway line, but Miguel did mention at one point that her father is or was an NFL lineman. Given those genetics I didn't think they showed her doing anything outrageous in the show--she caught Miguel by surprise in the initial fight, had a good power on her punch (the episode where Johnny had her punch the rest of the students in the face), and was strong enough to give some of the guys problems but ultimately couldn't hang with the more talented boys (she lost her second fight in the tournament IIRC). That's extremely unusual for a girl, but it's by no means unheard of--see female Olympic lifters or wrestlers, or Holly Mangold (sister of an NFL offensive lineman who was able to play offensive line in high school).
Likewise I don't think they had Daniel's daughter doing anything outrageous
yet--she wasn't in an extended fight, the one or two times she was able to do something against one of the male characters it was purely by using surprise/speed, and an accidental glancing blow from Miguel that wasn't even aimed at her knocked her the fuck down. I do worry that they'll go SJW in season 2 and turn her into a super ass-kicker, but until it's released I'll give them the benefit of the doubt.
That said, Johnny still having oneitis for his HS girlfriend at age 50 or so kind of goes against the rest of his character.

Been watching it again and it's still really, really good a second time through...with one exception. I don't know anybody who likes Daniel's fat son. That kid makes every scene he's in feel like a "rejected" take from the season that got a bad sitcom cancelled. He just screams focus group, like somebody asks the writers to put in a character that can offer "social commentary" on the newest generation of kids' tech-addled, privileged, "snarky" attitudes and then give him some cheap Bart Simpson garnish, and the end result is the most annoying little fucker you've ever wanted to punt across a football field. I hope they write him off for Season 2 as busy getting his ass kicked in boot camp or something.
But yeah, probably my favorite show in at least a few years. I think what makes Johnny such a compelling protagonist is he has no bad scenes in the show. Only good and great. And Zabka just crushes it - one of those performances where the actor just totally disappears into the character. There are a lot of little nuances to his acting (like the way he has to wrestle a grin off his face when he sees Miguel actually took his advice and changed his ringtone to an 80's hit - you see so much of his original '84 character in that scene) that just make you feel how much time has gone by for Johnny and, simultaneously, how much time hasn't. That's a very powerful and very human situation. It's something that people would recognize and respond to whether the year was 2018 or 1918. Really hope Zabka picks up an award or two for his work here, he deserves it.
(Meanwhile Mark Hamill's got to go to his grave with a new generation that only remembers him as the creepy old guy who chugged green jizz from a giant space cow's dicknipple because it was, like, subversive and shit. Smh, dudes...)

I just recently completed the first season and I love it -- I can't wait for season 2! I've had more fun watching this series than any other in recent memory. Johnny is, without a doubt, my favorite character on the show. It's incredibly refreshing to watch a character who is unapologetically masculine and who isn't afraid of being politically incorrect, especially in this day and age.
I love the format of the show as well: 10 half-hour episodes. I wish more shows would do like what "Cobra Kai" does and focus on quality not quantity. I'm about to go on a mini-rant here, so bear with me -- take a show like "The Walking Dead" for instance. It's a 60 minute show that could easily be reduced to 30 minutes. Not only that, but how many episodes does "TWD" have per season? 20? 25? So many of those feel like filler episodes where nothing much happens. In fact, I'd say that for the most part only the season opener, midseason finale and season finale are interesting/exciting enough to even bother watching but I digress.
If you haven't seen it, I HIGHLY recommend checking out "Cobra Kai"! It's an excellent blend of action, comedy and drama with wonderful character development and overlapping stories mixed with some red pill wisdom, particularly from Sensei Johnny Lawrence. Two thumbs WAY up from me!

Finally got around to watching this series. I really really enjoyed it; so much so that I finished it all in one fell swoop.
The jokes were really well executed. For example, I loved how they showed how Johnny has aged but really ignored all facets of current culture whether it be slang, internet, or even advertising.
It caught me off guard that the show didn't try to be super PC about everything too. So there wasn't really very much eye roll worthy moments in that regard.
I also think they did a great job with references to the original movie while still moving things forward to the current day.
Looking forward to season 2!

It kicked ass.

Just watched the first episode.
It´s cool.
My only complaint is that the show has to ditch the girl power crap if the producers want it to be perfect.
