I agree with you that RVF is a diverse community of men with different desires, interests, goals, points of view. We're on the same page here.

But Cam Newtons position that Norwand is exaggerating when he says that RVF as a whole is viewed as "extremist". which you indicated you agree with, is IMO, naive and incorrect.

First of all there is basically very small roman legacy in Belgrade...

The city was founded by Illyrians and was upgraded to a bigger city by Roman Empire. However it was never an important center and was overshadowed by Smirnium, a city which became one of the 4 capitals of the Roman empire by Diocletian... some 14 Illyrian-Roman emperors were born there, mostly from southern Illyria, because the city was like a frontier city where on the other side was the barbarian world.

Later on the city was taken over by Hungarians for centuries and was upgraded to a fortress... later on the Ottomans captured it.... and was like a small town or an Ottoman village most of the time.. undeveloped and the Ottomans considered it unimportant... an Albanian garrison stayed there most of the time .

Belgrade took the shape you see today after 1860s when Serbia got full independence from the Ottomans . Serbs tried to copy western type of architecture and while some main streets are huge and main buildings are beautiful to watch, there are many communist buildings and run down buildings.

It is not a city with so much history as you are telling it...

There are some art galleries and museums, but if you compare to main cities in western and central europe it is not such a big deal.


Secondly, about the food.... there is much better food in more med countries in balkans... even Sofia has better food than Belgrade... so sticking there for food is not like a very smart idea.


However I want to state that I do not consider Belgrade as a shithole...

The ones that do, maybe have to take a trip in africa, south america and parts of asia to see real shitholes

Well, I can say he is very interesting to talk to. He does seem to know a lot about the French military and the Legion, including specific French-language terminology. He seemed legit to me, regarding his background in both French and US military.

He also explained some things that made forum members disbelieve him, earlier on this thread. Like, how come he paid so little in Kharkiv for his flat: it's because the owner actually is a friend of him... Also, he explained some details concerning the bar incident, notably that the Ukrainian bouncers were motivated by other things, not only money - and that Superior Climber wanted a, like, "fight-club" training experience, having never known real-life fighting situations.

Well, to sum it up: on the phone NOLA seemed very cool-headed and knowledgeable on a lot of subjects (military, Ukraine, business). Now, he did admit to dissimulating some details (age, dates, circumstances), for privacy reasons. He also admitted having had other forum accounts, but was adamant that he was not NTP.

For me, regarding NOLA, it was the pattern rather than individual incidents that caused disbelief. While it's late now, I'll explain my thought process

-US Navy - As I served in the Navy as well, I thought I could crack him with some specifics over PM. I couldn't. Howevee, I did notice that his career trajectory was almost perfect. Meaning he got promoted right after the minimum required time in that rank. While not out of the question, I only knew a very few guys with that "minimum" level of service that became succesful later. Conclusion: odd but believable.
-French Legion - I know less about the french legion than the US Navy, obviously. However, again a perfect career trajectory it seemed. Conclusion: odd (again) but believable.
-Fight at bar - Utter stupidity even if it's real. This proved that he was socially uncalibrated more than a faker. Conclusion : very odd but also kind of unbelievable.
-KPMG Financier meeting - NOLA apparently met with KPMG's "head" financier. As I explained in an earlier post, KPMG has no service line that finances companies. They either consult, advise, execute on these, audit or perform tax services. On top of that this was the "head" financier. Of course Superior Climber and Dragan were supposed to "vouch" for this, which also proves them fake. Conclusion: Complete bullshit.

While this comes late, this was my thought process and the pattern was against them all along. My guess is that there are other accounts for these guys looming that we will see spring up soon.
